Skyliner middleground

Would it be possible and generally acceptable if we find a middle ground between the ktos and itos Skyliner? Skyliner having 0 cd was a tad too direct and upfront and the change made to itos Skyliner is also too direct and upfront, both are black and white, it used to be OP, now its practically pure turd

Something like Skyliner having 2 sec CD or better yet C3 Highlanders get an attribute option to reduce the Skyliner CD to 1 or 2 second but makes it consume more SP

Nope, they’re going to be merging databases with ktos (sometime July-August) so we’ll now have whatever ktos has. Not sure if they will keep certain implementations of itos but it sounds pretty much like we will now be entirely dependent on ktos and their updates.

Shame really, itos could have catered to the international crowd.

Its not that skyliner is op. Its that its the only good skill swordys have other than taunt so they take it. Im pretty sure its more of a issue with all the other classes being lack luster.

I’m confused by this post in general. We’ll be getting 0 CD skyliner, swordies are so terribly in need of some buff, any buff to DPS, why would you want a middle ground? at least let us have something on iTOS…

I don’t really see anything wrong with 0 cd skyliner, considering other classes have strong 0 cd skills too (mainly archer tree and fencers) and skyliner, unlike those other 0 cd skills, requires a bleeding target for good damage, however not all targets can bleed.

The only “OP” thing about Skyliner is perhaps the value of it, but when you compare it to attacks like Magic Arrow and Divine Machine Arrow, I don’t see why people find it OP at all. Honestly alot of Swordie skills will benefit from having much lower cooldown timers, Barb especially (Which is what we’re getting, but I still find that they’re pretty high. Like Warcry.)

We will know in about 11 hours what will happen to kTOS classes. The major skill balancing is slated for today in Korea.

What happens to them, is a decent indicator of what we may get. I have a strong feeling that the balances that we’ve received will have a notable impact on some of the skills that were considered imbalanced in Korea.

… tbh all this time I’ve been wondering why our skills have 20+ seconds cd if I will be the one to design these skills probably the longest cd I would give is 10 secs…, heck 10 secs is long enough to bore you in modern games…

Hope IMC doesnt do anything to harm their game or all their kr players would probably ragequitfu haha.

We get long CDs because this game is designed to have 11? ranks, they decide to put 7 ranks atm, that being said, we should have skill rotations including all these ranks, which SHOULD be enough on the real end game which is level 600? I’m not sure what’s the lvl cap anymore.

Dude I’ve read somewhere that the original plan was to have a total of 10 ranks and was later on changed to an indefinite number because they opt to answer the question of a total of how much rank would there be in tos and they’re answer was the usual vague answer that they give to all the questions being asked rofl. About skill rotations well thats just plain bs because if we do get 0 cd skyliner then these rotation plans are all dunked into the tin can. Im guessing 50-80% of sword players would reroll to atleast have high2 in their ranks… least we could see some sword do dps at last :slight_smile:

well if HL is weaker than barb now, maybe he will get buffs later on?

Moulinet needs like 2x the animation speed it has now and the ability to cancel the end of the animation, Crosscut and Skyliner should both be on a 10 sec cooldown. Vertical Slash needs an entirely new damage calculation that gives it multiplicative scaling based on buff count rather than a piddly flat bonus, it feels like the worst C3 skill in the game. The solution isn’t just keeping the class with one OP skill, but if you take that OP skill away you need to make the rest of the class not suck.

Crown is one of highlanders best skills.

Current version of Skyliner is already the middleground. It was released with 2 charges and 20s or so cooldown, then it was oberly buffed into 0s cooldown.

Only after gathering info on kToS about how that was dumb, IMC decided to give us the current version for further testing, which is, again, the middleground.

MIddleground shouldnt be taken literally, middleground means its not too â– â– â– â–  and not too OP, having Skyliner wih 3 charges and 15 CD falls into the â– â– â– â–  Category since theres literally no reason to take Highlander now
