Skill Simulator Beta

Hmm I hope it’s ok that I post this topic here. I don’t where else I should put it

So I think the Skill Simulator is now stable enough to be tested by everyone who wants to. I’d like to know if everything works as you think it should. Every feedback is welcome.

However it’s still not complete so there are some “known issues”:

  1. It’s not possible to save. Saving will be added once all (major) issues get fixed.
  2. It’s not only possible to save skill points for later ranks but also to use skill points of later ranks for previous ranks. This doesn’t affect the end build but might confuse people if 20 skill points are added for Rank1. This can also cause negative skill points in previous ranks and is one of the reasons saving is disabled for now. (First on my todo list)
  3. Skill Tooltips only show level 1 description. (This is second on my todo list)
  4. Skill Tooltips don’t show all values / there are some korean parts. This is an ongoing process. I’ll try to remove those as good as I can. Maybe some translator wants to help? ^^
  5. Some Skill Icons are missing. (I’ll check where those missing icons are ^^)

Ok here is the link to the Beta version of the Skill Simulator: Skill Simulator Beta

It’s a 100% rewritten version so if the link wasn’t leaked by someone I guess it should be new for most people

Awesome! Thank you

Thanks for all the work mate!

Finally, I can rearrange my build with this simulator. Thanks a lot TOSBase staffs!

Okay everyone, I just uploaded a new version

This version seperates the skill points of each ranks but still allows you to keep skill points of previous circles. I tested it and it seems fine but maybe someone else is more likely to find a bug ^^

If this works as intended and has no bugs I’ll work on the saving next. I’ll also need to rewrite the database backend so I also need to make sure I’ll be able to convert all old builds into the new system but this should be no problem. But this means that there will be some downtime in which people won’t be able to save builds to prevent data loss during the migration process. Because of this I want to make sure that everythings works 100% on my test system so the update shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. I’ll tell you more about this once everything is prepared.

Best regards,

Flash

Wait, if you keep the skill point from the previous rank, shouldn’t rank 2 have 30 points not 20 if no points have been allocated yet? judging from the picture.

Edit: O wow… How did I not see that? Sorry.

Nice work! Wheres the damage of each skills btw?

I have Reflect Shield level 10 in that example

The skill tooltip has the level 10 damage displayed. We will add additional levels to the tooltip, soon. If you want to see all damage values at once you can click on the link e.g. for Bash. Some values are missing because they have a custom formula which we need to find out and add into our skill calcutation first

Great work as always. Keep it up! :3

Ok, new update:

Saving and displaying using the new database backend is done and seems fine (I thought about adding it to the online test version but that could have caused some trouble so I’ll rely on my offline tests).
I also just finished the converter tool and it looks like converting old skill builds to the new system also works. So I’m going to replace the old Skill Simulator with the new one. I think this will happend late friday or early saturday. I’ll add a warning to the skill simulator about an hour before the upgrade starts. During the upgrade process the saving will be disabled to prevent data loss. All skill builds will be backupped and converted. Once this is done the whole Skill Simulator will be replaced, which will also result in a short downtime. I’ll try to make this maintenance as short as possible but everything together could take around 30 minutes. So saving might be disabled for 25 to 30 minutes and the whole Skill Simulator might be offline for about 5 minutes.

I hope the update won’t cause any big problems but if it does I’ll still be able to revert everything to the state before the maintenance started.

The Skill Simulator will keep Beta status as there are quite a few things that still need to be done but as most of them are about the UI and not the backend I think it’s time to make this next step

yeah, i dont know what i would do without him

So the new Skill Simulator is online and it seems everything worked

Here is a little example build that uses the ability to save skill points: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/bhbot1tkc7/

I will keep improving the Skill Simulator e.g. the icons, tooltips and stuff but I really wanted to make it possble for you guys to save your builds so I only focussed on that the past days. I hope you like it. If you notice bugs please tell me so I can fix them.

btw: It was suggested to mark not used skills. The new version will make the skill icons of skills that haven’t been increased in that rank semi-transparent. How do you like that? ^^
