O, i like that. I like that alot.
I liked the right-click system to make 5 skillpoints directly on the one we have chosen
Otherwise, very great job! :3
Yeah, that one is already on my todo list. Iāll need to change some functions but it shouldnāt be too hard and I hope Iāll be able to add it back soon.
Is there a way to decrease the stats points without resetting the current class rank, since some skills arenāt pump to the max. Another feature I would like is to re-edit my previous build tree, and not just the descriptions.
You can decrease skill points by right-clicking the skill icon. This is planned to be changed to a + and minus button for better usability on touch devices by the way.
The reason why itās not possible to edit saved build trees is because other people could rely on them. So if you create a build and someone likes it and saves the link to the build and then it suddenly got changed that would be confusing. What Iāve planned for the future is to ācloneā existing builds. So you can click a button on every skill build and you would be redirected to the skill simulator with the same skill points already added to each skill and then you would be able to do some edits to it and save it as new build.
Thatās not a bad idea, but I was thinking more of an iteration type where each build will have a version number with description of the reason for changes, and so that people can go to the build archive. This way the creator of the build is update the build, and that the view know the updated version can only be made by the original creator.
In my cause, I like to create my own private experiment build, and itās a hassle to rename the new build all the time.
Hmm yeah you have a point thereā¦ Iāll think about how I can create something like that.
Well it shouldnāt be too much more different than what you are already planning on doing. Probably just the addition of a table with loose coupling design (or normalization in database terms) for the iterations, but I have no idea how you store your data.
This skill simulator only makes me that much more anxiousā¦
Lol! But thereās so much more to be anxious about! Mwahahahar =D
I know, Iāve just been avoiding looking at anything for the game because it only makes the wait harderā¦
I think my fave thing so far is watching Alchs make things. They look like they working so hard XD
Ok, now that the 3rd CBT is coming and Iām preparing to update the Skill Simulator based on the new skill trees (once the CBT3 client is available for download) Iād like to get some feedback how to handle old builds.
First of all keeping old skill builds shouldnāt be a problem because Iām planing to keep the CBT2 skill tree aswell as the new one. Iāll probably add some kind of warning that the build is based on an old client version too. I hope Iāll be able to add the edit feature before I add the news skill trees so everyone can simply update their skill builds.
What do you think how long old skill builds should be available? Itās not a problem to have skill trees for CBT2 and CBT3 but in the future if I keep the skills builds for every update thout would be a mess. So do you think skill builds should stay forever and I kinda need to deal withit or do you think skill builds that are outdated for 3? / 6? / ?? month can be deleted?
When more classes and skills will be available in CBT 3 most of the people will make new builds according to this extra information. The old builds will be incomplete and there for less usefull. By the time the game launches everyone will make a build with the newest skill simulator anyways because the old one wonāt be any good anymore.
My advise would be to maybe keep both databases for 1 week so people can copy the first 6 ranks, and then delete the old one.
And again thanks for all your hard work!! I cant wait for your videoās and updates again :). Keep up the good work.
Is it possible to make it so that you can just edit the ones youāve already made with the updated skill trees? Or maybe add a delete option to the ones already saved?
The current plan is that you can edit old builds and afterwards they are using the new skill tree and are marked as updated.
That should be fine then. Maybe adding a delete button would help too?
Ok, the first step is done. You can now copy builds. You can do this clicking on the āCopy Buildā button on top of every build. This will bring you back to the simulator but with the classes and skills already selected so you can modify it.
Please tell me if itās working correct for your builds (you donāt need to save them just verify that the skills displayed once you click on āCopy Buildā are correct)
This feature will also be used for the editing and I hope if everything is working as intended Iāll be able to upload it on Tuesday or Wednesday so everyone should be able to update their CBT2 builds when the CBT3 starts
Example: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/?reference=6hso3ext1g
Will this overwrite the old build? Or save a completely new one? Cause that would be so confusing. Lol. But hey, progress is progress. Good job.
it create a copy of the build, so, no it does not overwrite it
Kind regards
