Silver gained from high level mobs

Well, I think this is one of the best solutions to bots. They’d need to actually play for quite a while before they’re effective at farming silver, then risking a ban doesn’t sound as fun.

I love this, actually. RMT buyers are people who play a lot and want things easy, if they are lvl 400, for example, a low level bot wouldn’t have enough silver to offer for the risk, so their marked would be greatly reduced

Forcing botters to go into high risk areas to actually benefit from botting where their death would cause substantial silver loss too.

This would actually be an awesome idea. Plus, players can do things to get the bots killed and laugh at their death penalty lol.

You’re right though, it’s too easy for botters to profit in this game. Zero risk, high reward.

Then again… botters in FFXIV figured out a way to exploit into walls or beneath the world and continue farming where enemies couldn’t get to them. Think botters would just adapt in this kind of way.

The obvious best solution is to semi - actively bot yourself. Just sit there and watch how your minions farm. If a GM comes by just say “Hi”.
Watch a movie meanwhile, play other games, watch Chinese anime.
Don’t be an idiot who afk farms while using a bot. This way, you can use your main account as well w/o having to do the annoying silver transaction. Bot comes pretty cheap anyway.
If you can’t stop them, join em ~o.o~
OR!
Buy 1m for $1. (at least that’s what you can get for $1 on Femi)

There’s no stopping lower levels to reach higher levels. Token price can be controlled in market. We also have enough silver sink in game to not inflate too much. In KTOS, silver gains from dungeon runs and etc are so high compared here and token prices are not even x 5. Think about how attributes work on this game and how much is it to refine gears, roll cubes, etc at higher levels. At end game, KTOS players are even struggling finishing end game content with insane gears and attributes. Not to mention they got better balance patches atm. Compare iTOS with steady aim nerf, swordie nerfs, etc.

Silver gains has to buffed here or people are gonna have to slave their lives away to be competitive one way or another regardless of the method. Now, if we also get the world boss cube nerf, how can a casual and even hardcore people catch up since there’s less and less ways to gain silver now? This also contributes to veterans not wanting to reroll too many DPS classes because simply of the cost to do so

Them quitting because they can’t afford a token and find the restrictions too big stops them.

Players control the market. The more silver players can earn, the more expensive the token will get. That’s just how free market works.

I’m not sure how are you guys farming, but I gain 300k per hour farming in workshop solo.

Also, it’s almost impossible to die in workshop or storage if you are not underleveled. Get the white 220 plate mail set and aspersio, that’s more than enough to keep you alive. In fact, the mobs in workshop will only hit you for 1 dmg (maybe around 100 from range mob).

I don’t think silver drops should be buffed all over the place.
Without proper money sinks over time it would only result in stupidly high inflation (Remember Ragnarok Online with item prices being more than a couple of zeny?).

What should be done is increasing silver drops from

  • high level dungeon/instance bosses
  • high level maps with, compared to other monsters at the same level, really strong monsters
so bots can’t abuse it and it promotes party play

They could even put small silver prices in pvp arena mode (winner gets 20k or something like that).

Truth be told, the game without bots has been way more expensive, if you check certain mats on Market, they are extremely expensive cause nobody farms them.

Aim to mats that people don’t farm, and make money off it, rather than getting X silver /hr on certain places.

I think we forget bots aren’t always ‘bots’.They have affiliates, regular players who work for the bots as well, farming items, and gold normally and sell to the bots for money. Who then resell back to us at a higher rate. You’ll never get rid of ‘bots’. We just need means to curb them.
A game I used ot play implemented a Bomb feature. You can buy bombs from NPC’s, these bombs can be attached to a player in the field. The bomb would ask the player a very obvious and easy question( ex.1+1=???) if not answered in 40 seconds the bomb would explode, killing the player/bot.

Easy: increase silver drops based on monster HP and level, then scale all silver sinks according to base level.
Inflation remains under control, encourages merchant classes and high level farming, encourages party play, and makes bots unprofitable.

Get a fletcher 3 or chrono 3, and farm world boss.

The real question here is who uses silver to buy things when talt is worth more.

Stay Talty my friend

Yeah people underrate Defense.
If you throw on Plate + Shield and Aspersio you just see a lot of 1’s except for some elites.

Really depends on where you are farming,

Farm expensive mat/equipment. You will never be as rich as the wb hunter though.

To explain how profitable wb hunting is, I started wb hunting 2 weeks ago, and I earned triple of what I had earned my entire ToS life.

I seriously dont know why people stuck grinding at demon prison or dina bees for 100k or 300k per hour. We have farming classes that can get 900k per hour. WB is another option if you can find good guild or group of friends.

If your character is killing machine(high level good gear) or support then you better try farming world boss. If your char is more focused on farming like dopple, thauma, alchemist you go farming mats. Double drops is so good, alchemist can make pots.

That’s Cerberus, Marionette and Earth Canceril, not all World bosses are worth rotating or camping. Also, not counting Helgasercle, Mirtis and Rexipher that require huge parties to take down.

@Topic: Inflating silver into the game is a bad design, you’ll have broken economies like on RO and RO2. And newer players will rage quit seeing high prices on the market.

It doesn’t have to be inflation, you could instead just reduce the silver that can be made at lower levels, create a decent curve that leaves the good farming away from the botting levels, make botting unprofitable, that’s it, whatever it takes to do so, it’s the most efficient way to get rid of them.
