Silver gained from high level mobs

Hi Saviour,

I honestly don’t know why silver doesn’t scale with level. It would make bot farming less effective if higher level mobs gave higher rates of silver.

At the moment its just as fast and easier to farm at dina bee netting around 100k per hour compared to maven.
Hypothetically, if places such as evac or maven gave 500k an hour people would be more inclined to farm their own silver instead of buying it. Of course this would inflate the market but it would eventually stabilize, but I can’t think of many negative outcomes of doing this.

You could say that people new to the game look at the market and see extremely expensive items as intimidating, but anyone new to the game can understand that anything that expensive and out of their reach currently is end game items.
Only to realise that when they get to leveling in higher level areas their income would increase significantly.

TL;DR increase silver drop rate for higher level mob to make bots less effective.

What do you think about this idea?

So…don’t die in Storage?

Doesn’t it scale with level? Thought it’s a random number between 1 and [Level*2].

The current system just isn’t enough for the amount of trouble it is to kill a mob with over 100k hp

■■■■ FPS ■■■■ Droprate ■■■■ money making system, all hail bots…:sob:

100k silver per hour is too damn slow dude.

Need to step up your farming game.

This further proves my point that its easier to make money at lower level areas, and I’m strictly talking about silver gained by mobs. Not selling items that the mobs drop in the market

+1 to this. Silver should be more at more risk, but so far is better kill faster and safe, some low level mobs

The curve I’ve noticed does happen, but you’re implying people don’t buy RMT because they’re actually lazy and want reward instead of grinding it up.

The game has it’s fair share of silver sinks so people don’t amass silver too quickly, and that’s probably so when you grind in higher up places like Storage and Maven your pockets don’t drag on the ground, but I would like to see better scaling in terms of it.

I think the main problem would be what would happen if this were implimented and then without consideration the spawn rates also increasing. It’d exponentially bolster both the bots and the player’s wallets, which is a double edged sword but if people are making money, the bots will have to keep undercutting themselves.

tl;dr Would be nice, but I don’t suspect it done well enough to be nice.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to make high level players be able to earn silver a lot faster than lower level players. It will inflate market prices. Sure your 280 char can earn 500k instead of 100k per hour, but then token price will also become 5x and who suffers from that? New players that need a token and can’t pay real money for one.

They could apply a silver penalty like the XP penalty, so you only actually get silver when you fight monsters your level, but I rather would not have that either. I actually like that I can go to lower level regions again and still get something from it other than the good feeling of helping new players.

100k per hour in dina bee? what? Sounds low

I’m lv205 and I’m doing the quests on two maps and from killing the mobs on the way I make about 200k in an hour and half just doing regular questing

You have a fair point.

Well, I think this is one of the best solutions to bots. They’d need to actually play for quite a while before they’re effective at farming silver, then risking a ban doesn’t sound as fun.

I love this, actually. RMT buyers are people who play a lot and want things easy, if they are lvl 400, for example, a low level bot wouldn’t have enough silver to offer for the risk, so their marked would be greatly reduced

Forcing botters to go into high risk areas to actually benefit from botting where their death would cause substantial silver loss too.

This would actually be an awesome idea. Plus, players can do things to get the bots killed and laugh at their death penalty lol.

You’re right though, it’s too easy for botters to profit in this game. Zero risk, high reward.

Then again… botters in FFXIV figured out a way to exploit into walls or beneath the world and continue farming where enemies couldn’t get to them. Think botters would just adapt in this kind of way.

The obvious best solution is to semi - actively bot yourself. Just sit there and watch how your minions farm. If a GM comes by just say “Hi”.
Watch a movie meanwhile, play other games, watch Chinese anime.
Don’t be an idiot who afk farms while using a bot. This way, you can use your main account as well w/o having to do the annoying silver transaction. Bot comes pretty cheap anyway.
If you can’t stop them, join em ~o.o~
OR!
Buy 1m for $1. (at least that’s what you can get for $1 on Femi)

There’s no stopping lower levels to reach higher levels. Token price can be controlled in market. We also have enough silver sink in game to not inflate too much. In KTOS, silver gains from dungeon runs and etc are so high compared here and token prices are not even x 5. Think about how attributes work on this game and how much is it to refine gears, roll cubes, etc at higher levels. At end game, KTOS players are even struggling finishing end game content with insane gears and attributes. Not to mention they got better balance patches atm. Compare iTOS with steady aim nerf, swordie nerfs, etc.

Silver gains has to buffed here or people are gonna have to slave their lives away to be competitive one way or another regardless of the method. Now, if we also get the world boss cube nerf, how can a casual and even hardcore people catch up since there’s less and less ways to gain silver now? This also contributes to veterans not wanting to reroll too many DPS classes because simply of the cost to do so

Them quitting because they can’t afford a token and find the restrictions too big stops them.

Players control the market. The more silver players can earn, the more expensive the token will get. That’s just how free market works.

I’m not sure how are you guys farming, but I gain 300k per hour farming in workshop solo.

Also, it’s almost impossible to die in workshop or storage if you are not underleveled. Get the white 220 plate mail set and aspersio, that’s more than enough to keep you alive. In fact, the mobs in workshop will only hit you for 1 dmg (maybe around 100 from range mob).
