TBH, I really want this game to become a great game. I love RO many years before but it sound like there still many problems unsolved ( those technical & design issues).
For those who are looking forward to very different implementation from the current KR version. IMO, its unlikely to happen unless IMC is a big company having enough resource to maintain different branches for different regions.
For the surprise release of the game on KR, i really don’t know what the publisher and IMC is doing. Nexon has published many good quality games on mobile and PC. They of course know how and when to push a game to the market and when to abandon a game. Trust me, they are very experienced and they 99% know what to do is best for them (yes! them = nexon, not IMC).
Generally, when a potential game is about the release, the publisher would do quite some advertisement to boost the hype before release. The release of ToS is so sudden and so cheap that it is extremely suspicious to have thing like this happen. Not even for a regular new mmo. This make me wonder if the deadline on the contract between Nexon and IMC was arrived and Nexon lose interest on ToS and don’t want to delay more for some reasons (like their evaluation think it would take too much time for IMC to actually meet the requirement).
From my experience, for some cased, developer get some money from established a contract with publisher and if developer can’t deliver the game on time written in the contract, they need to pay penalty to publisher. That could be the cause IMC rushing the game out so fast. And because nexon see no potential to the game, doing advertisement will only be wasted.(They even put the ToS game to the bottom of the game list on their kr website…the tops are maple story 2 and other new/old games)
Well. Its all my guess… Because I saw so much topics guessing about Nexon forcing IMC to release ToS (Nexon is the bad guy) so I gave you guy another version that always happens in the game industry: the dev signed the contract believing they can complete the game in a time frame (like 1 year) but somehow unable to deliver on time which lead to bad launch of the game (if not postpone the release day) to avoid money lose on breaking the contract.
from how i see the new mmos coming out, no good mmo had great a launch. as you say Devs are trying to follow contract date, it was several months or a year later when a ‘reborn’ happens with drastic changes to the game did these mmo start to gain a proper spotlight.
probably the reason why Peria Chronicles disappeared out of the blue.
yes cut out wards so it look like you want it to.lol you are starting to be a sad kid.
warrior is not op and i never say it is.its give you advantages but not combat ones to make it op.
the p2w in the game is not the cosmetic you not so smart kid its the premium.
go to steparu and look what it gives you.
ingame haircut = pwnage p2w
nop its the the premium.
so much this.lets hope imc will not do the same here to cover the loses they will have.

the game went full release and its the problem.a game cant ask what ever they want for cosmetic items.if its lets say 5$ then 100000 people will get it but if its 25$ then may be 10000 will get it. over pricing is never good. its not help that the game have almost no customization in the first place. then there is a really big p2w. - lans1234567890
ok i understand you now you didn’t get what i say may bad.
“then there is a really big p2w” what i wanted to say here is on top of over priced cosmetic there is a big p2w.
i am sorry it was not easy to understand , my english is not so good.

more proof
at this point i start to think you dont read and just troll.
well i’m all riled up because a pretend haircut in a game that i’m not going to pay a dollar for, that happens to be in another country, isn’t worth it imho. break out the pitchforks lets all fly to South Korea and protest this in real life. Though i wouldnt know what you would protest as you havent spent a dime on this game, and don’t need to. Games make a cash shop with uber items in it, people get pissed. Games make a cash shop with cosmetic items that they feel are pricey, people get pissed.
Honestly, if they had like a 5 dollar sub, and a cash shop, all the people upset would reduce dramatically because they wouldnt pony up the 5 bucks to play so they would probably just leave the forums and this game eventually. Thats one reason i like subs. It really weeds out many of they crybabies, riff raff, trolls, and complainers to a lower %.
F2P games always bring out the nutjobs in droves.
I guess F2P = coach. B2P = business class, P2P = first class.
it is just like this
Because people love to dress their virtual waifus.
or just like to have a nice looking charecter
The cosmetic items are just one problem of many. But since we’re on the subject, 30 dollars for 1 hairstyle is insanely expensive, and is honestly not a micro-transaction at that point, it’s a macro-transaction. I have never seen a game that charges that much for cosmetic items even in games from companies that have the sketchiest practices when it comes to in-game stores.
The very honest fact of the matter is, and will remain that if you want this game to succeed in the west then IMC will have to bring the prices down significantly. You can fanboy defend it all you want, and you can tell people to “simply not buy it” all you want, in the end the game will still be a massive flop once people see the prices for things in the shop, they will snapshot it, post it all over reddit and other communities, log off and never come back and the game will become just another blunderous joke to the gaming community that people meme and reference in what NOT to do when releasing a new game. There are too many alternative options for MMOG’s in this world, ToS doesn’t really have anything particularly unique about it apart from it’s art style that you can’t get in other games, and believe me I also want to play and look forward to the game but I won’t support a company that won’t learn from it’s mistakes, own up to them, and fix them.
In most games, hairstyles/hair-kits/etc cost around 5 dollars. Costumes generally cost around 10 in most cases, sometimes I have seen them for 15 but it’s extremely rare. That’s what a micro-transaction is. Small, inexpensive, justifiable, and likely to attract people to make the same transaction because it is all of those things. A 30 dollar hairstyle, or 20 dollar ability to trade will attract a very small number of people, and alienate or turn the rest off. It won’t work here. Ever.
Would it make you feel better if they called it a “donation” item? Maybe… if it was like a charity dinner. You know… Steak and twice baked potato $500 dollar a plate to pay for game developers forced to work 12 hour days 7 days a week during crunch time.
I’m not a fan boy of this game, i’m more in the “who gives a crap” camp in regards to cash shop prices. I don’t use the cash shop, nor do i care if someone else pays a dime or a dollar or a hundred bucks for a cosmetic item.
I’m also not going to blatantly say expensive cash shop items leads to a game failing, leads to me not wanting to play it, as an argument. Tell you what, every game that comes out, i’ll point out what sucks about it, therefore it will fail, therefore I won’t play it. this can be done for every game.
if the game lasts more than 6 months, then you are clearly wrong. if the game lasts more than a year, for surely you are wrong, so just log back in in a year and if the game is still around, you were dead wrong about the severity of expensive cash shop items causing the game to fail
So boring… first world problems everywhere T_T
