Should we receive a stat and skill points reset item every 3 class ranks?

So, as a lot of players will first time play on OBT, I would like to know your opinion about receiving, as a reward, some item to reset skill points and stat points for every 3 class rank ups you get(most likely at Lv 85 and Lv 180 and so on).

In my mind, this solution would help players to better build their character.

Or even for every 75 or 80 character levels…

Anyway, let’s discuss.

No thanks. Maybe with some hard rebalancing.

I think you should recive 2 non tradeable resets as reward for a specific quest, so you can decide at what level use it (same method that Dragon Nest).

I would rather have stat/skill resets as:

a) a cash shop item

or

b) a reward from a hard repeatable quest (I am thinking something involving paying several mil or something else that would discourage people from using it too often)

The reason I would rather have it from one of these 2 options instead of getting a reset every set of levels is that you may need to reset your stats/skills at max level while IMC is continually changing skills for balance. With your proposal you are stuck with your build once you are max level, regardless of what changes IMC does in the future.

Doubt this will ever happen but I’m sure they will give out skill and stats reset everytime a new rank/class is release, just like PSO2 everytime a new class is release.

Its not needed unless they do something that rebalances the game so it’d be a good cashshop item. It’s something people want that they don’t need and doesn’t break the game if they have it.

I think they can try implement something like this:

Put a NPC who helps you to reset skill in town.
When you are rank 3 or under, the NPC allows you to reset skills unlimited times with a certain amount of silver cost.
After rank 3, players can only obtain skill resets from events or cash shop (only available at a reasonable price from time to time).

Put a NPC who helps you to reset stat in town.
When you are lv 50 or under, the NPC allows you to reset stats with some silver cost.
Every 50 levels (or something similar), the silver cost increases exponentially. Basic idea is that the silver cost will be huge at higher levels.

Ofc they should give out skill/stat resets whenever there’s a big class updates

If it’s under rank 3 just restart with a new character.

well u know, it’s a nice thing for new comers. cuz not everyone likes to reroll.

Let’s not forget these scrolls currently seem to be part if their monetization model…

I personally think that being able to buy these scrolls from other players would be fine, as well as handing out a free one to everybody whenever major impactful changes are made on a class.

Like… we’ve reworked Pardoner, so now all characters of the pardoner class have a set of non-tradeable, 0 weight skill/stat reset in their inventory.

A) Cash shop
Sure, because money reasons.
Freemium players having to put more care into their classes is nothing new.

B) Freebies?
Maybe whenever they make a class/skill tweak, sure.
At the very least, the milestone being ‘every 3 class ranks’ seems a bit excessive. If you want it to be that often, remember to make the reset items expire if not used within a certain amount of time to prevent hoarding.

A problem I can see that this doesn’t address is if IMC changes some class interactions. For example they take [daino] off [simony]. Now your c1 cleric - c3 krivis - c3 pardoner is screwed.

Cash shop with a daily, weekly, or monthly free reset would be nice. Or have a way to actually try out a class before you finalize your choice.

You all remember the training grounds where the highlander master is found? How about some npc sell costumes there that grant all skills when you equip them. There are already training dummies you can hit to test your skills on. The costume should expire if you leave the room.

Yes, you are screwed. And that is the way it should be. There is no need for class resets, if your class’ skills change so much you don’t like the class anymore you should be forced to reroll it. Allowing everyone to change their class at will means everyone is going to just be playing the meta-build of the month.

so many extremist :\

I like the quest idea…

Let is be something like climbing Mt. Everest so it feels good to accomplish. Looking at our options we have the following type of quests.

  • kill - kill x monsters
  • fetch - find x items
  • fedex - deliver x to y
  • collect - kill x monsters for y items
  • escort - deliver x npc to y

Which quest type would suit a reset reward. And how would you make it difficult. Complete earth tower alone, bwahahahahahahah!! I kid…

kill 100 monsters that stand on your way to finding a scroll and deliver it to the Reset Master, but then 50 monsters steal the ingredients to make the scroll work and you must kill 25 monsters and collect the ingredients…

while at the same time escorting the Reset Master to a safer location.

:sunglasses:

Now that I think about it yeah class reset is a bad idea because metafags wil be forced to train a new char or suck it up. Only problem is newer rank classes that might not sync well with some combination :<

  • Every major class/stat change. But only if your actual class/stats is based on that change.

Path of Exile restores all your stat points everytime they balance or rework the passive tree.
Also, there is this item (obtained by playing) that allows you to reallocate one point per item, that’s nice too.

i agree, but only 1, at lvl 200.
