🐚 Dear IMC, Plans for boosting Paladins in the New game! Buffs for a dead class

Hello, it’s Pinata from Silute server and here is what I think about paladins in Tree of Savior universe. :tropical_fish:
Paladin is a Blue class in the Cleric tree.
With means this class is suposed to be a defensive class (peltasta) / hard cc class (rodelero, cryomancer).
But in the end, paladin is just a Fake yellow crafter class to make barrier scrolls.
Please IMC, bring Paladins to game. Maybe as a new tank option.

Here are some suggestions to make Paladin a great class:

  • Revome Barrier from Simony (pardoner skill)

  • Boost Barrier with passive atributes such as: Burning effect for enemys inside the area of Barrier. Revealing enemys inside the Barrier area.

  • Remove this skill from the game: Conversion

  • Create a new skill for Paladin c2!

Possible skills:

1 - A party buff Aura skill. Every time the paladin or the party member blocks a attack, the attacker becomes stuned for 2 seconds.

2 - A flash of light from the paladin shield that stuns and damages enemys in a conic area in front of him.

3 - A summoning skill. The Paladin will summon a creature of light to support him.

4 - A ranged skill that slows and damages the target with a whip of light.

For now that’s it.
Thank you. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

In all honesty, I would change Barrier for something like a shield.

When you use it it will absorb some of the damage you or the party members receive while providing you some pdef based on CON and mdef based on SPR.

Conversion could be changed to Divine Strike.

It would deal a massive damage against Ghost Armor enemies (normal damage to other types of course) and have an attribute that decrease this damage for a party healing effect that would be based on 0.2 x SPR (this value is fixed) and the damage would be decreased by 50% or 75%.

Conviction I would either turn into an Aura skill (like Restoration) and would change it to be a toggle skill (you use once to turn on, and again to turn off), also for a bit of balance, I would turn all the other auras the same way and only 1 aura active per time.

With the new combat system Paladin will be fine, I hope.

It will not. That’s why the topic.

How can you know it o_O ? Plus I have a Paladin and I don’t understand what is wrong with it.

I’m following Bong tos after patch videos.
He’s not a good player but he show us the changes of damage and stuff.
Paladin needs something.

As a fellow Palaquisitor player I disagree with the first proposition - removing Barrier scrolls from the game would just make Paladins an auto-include on ET parties considering the nerf on Meltis, specially on undergeared groups still doing Lolopanther. It also makes many quests (I’m looking at you Maven) very party-dependant. It would change way too many aspects of the gameplay and create way too many problems for it to be worth right now.

The rest seem fine. Making Resist Elements lvl 16 a 100% uptime skill without diev/chrono skills would also help.

A very cheap and lazy solution would be making Smite a 0 CD skill. Suddenly Paladin is on a much better spot DPS wise.

I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Or 5 OH > 10 sec CD. Some monsters are weak to “Smite”, I’m dealing ~5500 with a Paladin lvl 130+ on monsters weak against this skill. And I have 0 STR.

Dunno if he’s good or not, but the only video I saw from Bong is a Paladin Inquisitor full STR. I’m an INT / SPR Paladin, so I don’t have any problems. A hybrid Paladin is maybe a good idea with the new combat system. A lot of classes are lacking of something, you need to fill it with other classes.

@LunarRabbit Don’t be off-topic please.

I only agree if Barrier it self gets stronger if it’s used by a paladin himself.
The new meltis is going to make Resist elementes 100% uptime.
And i belive that the new meta will be 2 krivis 3 hahaha

It falls off pretty hard on late game. Even on very high transcendence Vienarazis you are hitting for barely 50-60k with glass moles.

Considering post-rebalance ToS we’re looking at a 496% hit, wich is very similar to Monk’s Double Punch. Tweaking that % down a little bit it’d be comparable to Monk considering that Smite can hit for double on half the enemies.

Conviction + god smash is a thing. But i belive that paladins need some skill to cc mobs.
Slow or stun

Yes, I guess it’s mostly a problem for STR Paladins, it’s maybe why a lot of people should not follow blindly Paladin STR path.

It is indeed. But now you can leave. ^^
Big people are talking about clerics.

The meta build has always been Dex paladin though, getting all your damage from transcendence on the Vienarazis.

The Conviction interaction is going to be nerfed to the ground on the rebalancing patch. Monk debuffs are going to surpass Conviction in terms of buffing God Smash’s damage.

Paladins have Smite knockback though, wich I find quite handy on ET in fringe situations. Nothing too fancy and it could definitely use some root/slow mechanics.

Seriously, just give paladins some sort of taunt skill instead of conversion and they are good to go. obviously it can’t have as low a CD and/or affect same number of targets as Peltasta’s, but it’d be icnredible for a defensive class outside the swordsman tree to actually be able to taunt even if less efficiently.

Yeh sorry by STR I mean DEX (I’m in the future ).

I’ll link you a video as soon as I can.
The monk dps is insane

I’m fully aware of Monk’s DPS post-patch. Hence why I’m rerolling as Monk3Inq after it arrives.

ok.
