I dislike being an apologist, but I have some margin of respect for their past track record on catering updates on player feedback. My main issue is that they seem to forget about the game itself, and it seems that core issues are shaking the very foundation of the game and making what would otherwise be a decent MMO experience turn into a series of frustrating events.
Let’s face it. A lot of us do enjoy the game. Hence why we pursued it in the first place. And minus the introduction of a laundry list of bugs, the game isn’t too far off from what we originally expected, for many of us.
I come from a French MMO called Wakfu, where I previously served as one of the lead moderators and GMs. That game had a large deal of issues, but at the very least members of their staff, despite their shoddy English, made a constant effort to communicate with the international playerbase on their design and intents. It allowed players to not completely feel in the dark moving forward in the development roadmap. There were players not only including myself that were able to directly report bugs to them and even on the weekends when they didn’t have work, they would at least keep an open line of communication acknowledging basic bugs the game had and what progress they’ve made on rectifying them. The closest thing we have to that here are our translators, like @Gwenyth.
When problems like the many ones we’re experiencing happen, it’s up to the people behind the game to address them to the community. We had a post on the forums not long ago by @hkkim, which generated a massive amount of praise for actually getting some word from the people making the game. Why can’t we have that more often? It doesn’t even have to just be limited to him posting either.
Tree of Savior has a long way to go before it can remotely be considered not a diamond-in-the-rough. But it has to start somewhere before it takes steps forward if the developers, publishers, and playerbase even remotely care about it. I sincerely hope that when the weekend has passed, we can get some form of an official statement.
Hopefully that’s not wishful thinking.
Edit: Relevant to the topic, we have missed the entire last day of Earth Tower runs, due to inability to generate an instance at both 4 PM and 4 AM the next day. That is four cubes lost without even a chance to contest it.
