Selling items for to much!

some thing that made me stop playing ragnarok was , players selling items for CRAZY amounts of zeny .

no matter how rare that drop is. and how hard the monster is… should be able to sell items for 150,000,000… its not fair when a walk into a town 100% filled with people all selling items i can find for free for in shops for 50 million zeny…

i enjoy the game… i wish to enjoy this game to.

can make some cap players can sell items… i understand very rare items selling alot, but 400,000,000?

Item prices should be set by what the players are willing to pay for it, not some arbitrary point. If you don’t think the item is worth that much money don’t buy it.

This will happen eventually when the value of the currency deteriorates from inflation.

Do you even know how an economy works? The prices are bound to the offer/demand plus the currency value. Those prices were just the right prices for those items you are crying about because you can’t afford them.

Don’t we already have a money sink to counter the currency inflation (although hoarders will still offset it by a bit … at least IMO) so that this won’t necessarily happen? Plus, with Potential decreasing with everything you do on equipment, the prices shouldn’t stay very high for items being constantly traded.

Only thing I can see being sold for a ton are recipes and the items to craft the recipes and even then it seems easier to just farm the stuff

You shouldn´t worry too much about this. With the auctionhouse (which we get as far as i know), there is a natural deflation to unimportant items. Also the offer will be much higher and therefore the prices lower.

You should read that thread, you may find it interesting

You should probably get used to it, BIG number syndrome is a thing in this game with currency. By lvl 20 i had 300k so i could easily see a high lvl item costing 10mil+ if not higher.

That thread made me cringe hard… I’m not sure I even want that thread to continue because there is so much hate and some posts should have been flagged  It’s kinda interesting though … at the beginning.

Yea big number syndrome is a concern for some people, i personally dislike it. But that thread has been derailed by a huge argument so the point is kind of buried.

Eh big number syndrome had nothing to do with what this OP is saying. This is related to inflation ^^. If an item costs 10+ mill but 300k is easy to get, then 10+Mill is nothing. However, if said item starts costing 100M+ after a few weeks, then it becomes an issue(inflation).

Ontopic: As everyone has said, supply and demand will be what determines item prices. Some stuff might be really expensive, but as long as people buy them they’ll keep being expensive. Just keep in mind, this is a game where supply can grow infinitely, so you’ll probably see a drop in prices fast(supply will surely grow faster than currency ingame, given we have good money sinks)

If you sell in the economy you will have the money needed to buy in that economy. But if you’re just drooling over rare gear and you’re selling crap it’s going to take you awhile.

Yeah but if you’re unlucky or don’t have time to farm the rare equipment, then it’s kinda hard to not drool over the rare gear while only selling the worse equipment. Of course that’s just based on the players luck and time in the game but it’s still something :frowning:

If you don’t have time to play the game, then you have real money to compensate for it. That’s what commerce is about, you will find pages/users selling ■■■■ for real cash later on, or just in-game currency. Hell, the game will have cash shops, you can even arrange cash shop trades for items. You, sir, have a narrow small tiny little mind.

My goat for your apples and spices.

Dunno who that was directed to since I didn’t get any notification of reply  but while it’s true that some people would have real money for compensation, as a college kid, I don’t really have money for compensation until I graduate and get a job.

While yes, you can trade cash stuff for items in game and even buy items with real money, some people don’t like to do that either because of scammers and paranoia. This is just me speaking from an objective view of course. I’ll probably just farm my own equipment and take my time

Also this is a bit uncalled for. recently I’ve seen so much hate in the users in the forum it hurts my little mind :frowning:

lol
