This is not Ktos… everyone is still building Ranger 3 as if we still have 45%ktos steady aim. You could say we run against the wall because they do. Running shot is insane early midgame and even late game. Rangers itos steady aim is a 8% overall !! (That’s nothing) Barrage sucks late game. Yes it sucks! I don’t care what you think I had a 206 SR with +8 catacombs 50 in Attribute and the damage is ■■■■. It Hits few targets you have to be close sometimes it Hits often sometimes not even though you stand very close. I even have the feint Combo and still can say the damage is bad.

To be honest do what you want. But I can tell you definetly qs>>Ranger in every aspect. And yes the Ktos “Nerf” is neglectable

Don’t go ranger rogue on a SR build, you have to unmoving to use feint so it’s a huge hassle. Ideally you want a play style where you don’t ever have to get off your mount.

The cookie cutter SR build is a2 ranger3 SR2

Assuming in future patches where Rank 8 is available and more archer classes with AOE comes out, is it still worth going for Ranger over Quarrel shooter?

Is that a rhetorical question? How do you even answer that without knowing what the R8 classes are. IMO it’s personal preference in picking R3 or QS3, from what I’ve seen in most SR threads R3 is useless in some builds

I guess it’s kinda rhetorical, but I do not know for sure whether Ranger skills scale well enough towards higher level gameplay for me to consider using it with, lets say, Cannoneer, as compared to the utility that Quarrel Shooter has. From reading posts on the forums, I saw @sudonim7 has a lot of information regarding Archers so I thought he would know better than me. I guess Ranger C3 really do fall off late game. Apologies if my question rubbed anyone the wrong way.

With that said, I learnt a lot and gained a lot of help with regards to building my SR, and will be taking Quarrel shooter. Thank you very much!

I personally think going extra ranks into rangers is a waste since you’re giving up rank4 and rank5 classes for a really small upgrade.

Unfortunately because of how incompatible SR is with mounts and most classes, there are not a lot of alternative options. In that case, it would be better to go ar2 ranger3 and just work around your SR2 skills for priority mobs and use ranger/archer skills for trash mobs.

Really wish Steady aim was better in our version.

199 A2>R3>SR here.

Ranger 3 - If you want to have your build focus on AOE then this is your choice. Ranger and SR are both skill based AOE classes so the synergy is obvious. Rogue 1 and archer 2 both complement the build well. It comes down to improved multi shot/ swift step VS feint/barrage(must dismount) and sneak hit (which is great but conditional). Barrage does seem to get me instagibbed alot trying when trying to maximize DPS. More SP hungry then QS version but SP pots are cheap. It would nice to kToS steady aim, IMC pls!

QS 3 - Awesome of s single target damage. Max running shot and slap on a grand cross then go. I haven’t played one but I’ve seen there AA damage and it does make me jealous. AA in till runnning shot is down then use your skills rinse repeat. I don’t know how the timing would work but you should be able to use multi shot, concentrated fire and rapid fire ( I hear is crappy) before running shot is ready again. Might be more dependent on linker for grind parties after 240+? (Don’t know) With the knowledge I have now I might have gone QS3 instead but I will reserve judgment in till I’m doing endgame content.

I would say play whatever appeals to you because the game is still young and nothing is set in stone just yet. All classes are one patch away from being deemed useless or meta. Whenever rank 8 is released we will see the so called optimal builds change. I think its more important to play what you like with a specific goal in mind in your case PvE/fun. So I recommend watching some videos/streams of each class in action and pick the one that looks more fun to you.

General tips :
save/huntfor Cafrisun set (lvl15)
save/hunt for grand cross (lvl40 if QS)
save/hunt for arde dagger (lvl75)
Spend the rest of your silver on attributes and pardoner buffs for leveling.

quarrel hands down, you spam autos with running shot then you spam aoes on up to 10 things with retreat shot then you spam autos again with running shot so u can just run around all over the place and make this game go from a semi fast paced game to a super fast paced game

every other skill is w/e

whats the one thing that makes running shot 100x more fun? mobility…what does SR specialize in? mobility

my friend is doing this and hes going pure str and getting archer 2 for the crit buff so he can crit spam for days

who needs con when u outrun kite the game

the TRUE machine gun build :smiley:

get a didel grand cross and a manamana and see so many numbers on the screen you wont know what is going on

Hi,

Was fiddling around with the ToS Simulator while raising a new archer and made a rather weird experimental build, just wanted to ask what you guys think of it?

Archer C3 > Ranger C1 > Rogue C1 > SR C2 / SR C1 Cannoneer C1

Left Ranger at C1 since I heard it’s not worth going C3 and excluding Quarrel shooter just to see what I can get with a skill spamming build without Ranger C3.

This build plays poorly because you have to dismount to use Feint from rogue, and that’s extremely annoying for any mounted class.

Read up on what skills can or can’t be used mounted, it really limits what mesh well with SR2’s

True, I was thinking of the possibility of using Twin Shot instead of Running Shot since I read about how good the skill is, and only 1 rank on Ranger since a 10% increase seemed good for 1 rank.

I actually don’t mind dismounting once in a “long” while to deal damage though (eg: gathering mobs on mount and dismounting to AOE should Retreat shot be on Cooldown). I recall somewhere on YouTube on a player who used Cannoneer in his / her build to do a mix of Single and AOE damage and I grown fond of that playstyle.

QS3+SR is very easy to leveling
