Schwarzer reiter build? ranger3 or wugushi2?

Build is A2>r1>???>SR3 i mainly want a character that won’t fall off late game and can solo grind efficiently.

also dex or str? i’d get more dex if i go ranger3, but i’m not sure if i go wugshi probably a mix of both with more str. i can probably get a decent amount of lvl6 gems. so red gems for ranger, but what if i go wugushi shoud i get green gems?

If you plan on go with high DEX on your build, avoid wugushi, poison don’t critical and the damage scales with your damage (the stats window number).

Also, Thrown Poison Pot don’t work mounted, it will make you unmount to attack i think.

SR3 power skills (forward shot and retreat shot) are both 10secs channeling skill. Steady aim is 10sec duration that amplifies all damage up to 20%

see the synergy?

Anything that’s missile synergies with Steady Aim. The reason why it’s “better” for SR is because it’s an AOE +20% and not a single hit +20%

do you know how much steady aim gives at lvl 5 cos tosbase says it’s 15% i know it got nerf and i can’t find an updated version. all i see is people saying it went from 45% to 20% at lvl 15.

just wondering if maybe i can get away with only ranger1, cos i’m still in doubt about ranger 3 to me the only thing that’s usefull is barrage and steady aim and you already get it at ranger1 so i’m thinking of adding another class like wugushi might do more.

barrage gets weaker at high content without feint so it’s not accountable. Spiral arrow however is another good skill to have. combine it with Full draw link to achieve 199,999 damage.

like i said, they are both 10 sec duration skill. in which NO OTHER SKILL has the same duration to maximize with it. true that any missile gets amp with steady aim. but there is nothing more than both retreat and forward shot to be compared with.

Personally I would go for A3 R1 F1 SR3.
In the end SR wants to focus on pistol attacks which means any kind of Bow Skill will fall off.
So I would take as much utility as I can get and given that Bodkin Point brings a lot of quality of life into Boss fights and Brodhead is another nice dps for Bosses the F1 Rank goes pretty well with the SR3 AoE.

Ranger 3 is for boosting the SRs capability to produce AOE damage.

this looks good, i can also maybe change fletcher for rogue like you said more utility for sr. i just think that ranger3 is a bit overrated, cos ranger1 has steady aim already. i know i’m just theorycrafting but in the end these are just filler class, sr is the main focus. also i watched some sr videos and i see ranger3 not doing that much at all.

ranger 1 = steady aim lv5 = 10%
ranger 3 = steady aim lv15 = 20% damage

IF:

retreat shot 3 hits per sec x 10 secs (duration)
and 1 bullet = 10k damage

10k x 3 = 30k damage x 10 secs = 300k damage

300k damage + steady aim lv5 = 330k damage (30k increase from 10%)
300k damage + steady aim lv5 = 360k damage (60k increase from 20%)

p.s. do note this only accounts for a single target, if you hit more than 1 target, then the damage output will be multiplied along.

IF: hits 10 mobs = 30k difference * 10 mobs = 300k damage output

  1. do note steady aim is T2 modifier, so whatever increased damage there is, it will always again be modified by steady aim as final modifier. (e.g glassmole)

  2. do note that the higher damage, the more increase you’ll receive from steady aim

edited: thanks for reminding about the aoe

You forgot to mention that the main reason one takes retreat shot is for the AoE. If you manage to constantly hit 5 targets for 8 seconds of retreat shot (you won’t ever cast the full retreat shot with steady aim up), that difference becomes 240k. Now imagine what that is in ET, where you’re hitting a lot more mobs

i place the numbers in single to make it little more understandable for him. but will do edit to make it more appealing. heu

i guess i’ll just go ranger3 it looks to be the safest route anyway, thanks for the help.

I have a r1/wugu2/sr3 and I gotta say that the single target damage and AOE ( wugung go + Marching or retreat or barage) wugu provides is really great. Wugu is shoot and forget, and you’re mostly using your SR skills now. I can solo almost everything with this char from the dungeon 290 to uphill defense stage 24 (which is the last round of good items anyway).

wugushi wugong gu is aoe , this skill is good for grinding, solo and boss(mission/dungeon) better than ranger 3

wugushi was actually my first choice, but i don’t know how should i balance my stats and what gem should i use, whereas ranger3 is pretty straight forward just get lots of dex and red gem. also how good is it compare to ranger? my archer is currently a2>r1 so i can still switch.
