After playing the game for a bit after the patch I can now say this limit is really low, and discourages from actually doing anything in the field areas. Furthermore, the popup notifying the player that he cannot pick up silver anymore is constantly stuck in the middle of the screen as you walk past silver all the time, obstructing your vision and being an annoyance.
In summary, this sucks.
