Say Yes to job reset

Has anyone stopped to think that the same logic of doing research is countered by the fact you actually get punished for that when they nerf a class. So all the “popular” PVP/PVE builds will in time get crushed for doing well because this company has poor insight of what is balanced.

Either way this goes I don’t care if there is or isn’t a reset because if they piss me off for doing the right thing and -don’t- give a reset after nerfs I’m just going to quit and not reroll. Having to gear grind and everything again because trading has been ruined is a whole other beast in itself. I just don’t look forward to praying to the RNG box gods every single character.

Half of this problem is because the trade system and itemization in this game is poor, and the other is questing is out right boring and frustrating where you literally have to RNG if a bag has something inside it for 5 minutes as a quest. Then ontop of that they nerfed grinding effectively to get back up on your feet with reduced spawns.

So you can try to blame people for making mistakes on builds or being lazy, when it’s also the company’s fault for being lazy in leveling design and oppressing players to make up for it too.

Despite that the income of players is big and keep growing considering that use the old p2p model.

Yep. They have 700k players ao they doing good.

even ifis 700k is still more profitable than almost all the mmorpg (with the exeption of wow).

Yes i do say ff14 is a good game,i play it.

What is with the desire to always be rolling the “best” build? You are literally saying that you want your build to always be the best and if it’s not, you want to be able to pay your way into being the best. Rather than advocate for build swapping, why not trust in the balance patches and maybe debate what is fair and not fair when they come out, maybe rally some people together to fix what you believe is a bad balance change to a class and explain why you think so. Why is the solution to simply change your build completely?

If you’re unhappy about Hunter C2 (which by the way, it is pretty obvious at Hunter C1 that the class needs work) why not discuss that, maybe make a thread in the suggestion forum explaining why it is not great? What if after you job reset (let’s pretend it’s in the game for this argument) and Hunter gets buffed a lot to fix it. Are you going to go back to Hunter? Is that how you’re going to play the game? Just hopping between the best builds?

It sounds like you want to play the best classes at any given time without ever leveling again. Simply put, you want to level a single time and have the flexibility to be the most desired class forever going forward.

So have you been living under a rock for the past 1-6 months or new here? They’ve ignored most player’s feedback and nerfed things which didn’t even have to be nerfed really. CM Julie one of the most active people to convey what players want to IMC just quit. This logic is flawed because reality is there if you take the shutters off your eyes to see it.

Guess we should just trust them though right…

no i dont say this. i play Highlander c2 > Cataphract c2 going for dragoon. so i dont care for the #1 build.but there things that dont work at all, and its a problem. if imc fix this then ok but i dotn see them doing so.

without ever leveling again? yuo ddi read how i want this reset to work at all?

Skyliner needed a nerf, Cryomancers and PD also needed a nerf in PvP. Monks have been buffed (they really needed it) and that’s just what I remember off the top of my head.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with IMC’s balance patches, the point is, that they should strive to properly balance classes. Simply leaving poor classes and having people able to freely reset is not a solution.

@lans1234567890 This pretty much applies to you as well.

Well no kidding. They did do some things like buffing Paladin and Dievdirbys along with just the base Cleric class with more heal tiles. The problem is this is going to be like a really long rollercoaster of buffs and nerfs while they release more circles, new classes, and new content.

While they try to find the balance it’s going to piss off numerous amounts of people and take too long for anyone to figure out what’s acceptable to play. Trusting them to do the right thing is pretty hard when most of these changes are based purely off kTOS and they’ve mostly ignored the iTOS community as a whole.

I’m not even going to get into the plethora of bad ideas that aren’t even class specific like AoE ratio and cast disruption either which are just silly for the most part. Things like this create a whole meta of building classes that make or break anything based on a change they can do on the fly.

Most people like myself are not going to put blind faith in their ability to read direct and critical input on something that’s constructive towards getting a fix. Especially not when I just saw that the only really active CM they had to do so quit a couple weeks into release.

I’m still waiting for them to even release half this kTOS content or if they will actually start listening to people here instead for different changes like they said.

Crafting was not made harder, it was being limited more and more. Every since patch 1.2 crafting was made less and less useful while also being ‘dumbed down’.

There was nothing of worth to make anymore in Heavensward, nothing that was not a pure cosmetic (and there were only few of those)

As for player count, just like WoW FFXIV never had to be fully truthful about how many players actually played the game. That too, is another reason why the games still exist today: because everyone thinks the games are popular, alive and this in turn attracts a playerbase.

I believe most everyone has considered it. It’s the logical result, after all. It is a part of being competitive, or being part of ‘the top’.

Decisions were made, not mistakes. You cannot blame someone (else) for their decisions on how to build their character.

This is true, but it’s another topic altogether.

Despite the resources devoted to the game being kept to a minimum? Their advertisement is the main source of new players. And they do a very good job at keeping discontent from their official forums and sites. Feedback and constructive complaints are ignored.

But as I said, FFXIV is another game, so all this is off-topic. I do not wish to be reminded of that disappointment of a game anymore, anyway.

Watched too much Pokemon, perhaps?

I’m not surprised if they were ignored the iTOS community considering the amounts of threads, posts, and tags (and support tickets?) such as these, which can only be as considered spam.

It’s not though when it revolves around the debate of just rerolling.

And what about the CM bringing legit things to them and turning away?

Stop skirting issues.

well red scrips for crafters made it harder ff14 is 2.0 and not 1.X. ff14 1.x failed. haveing 700k paying players is somthing no f2p game ever have or will. some game hope thy will have 700 k players at all, paying or not. so wow and ff14 are the most profitable mmorpg.

No, it made it time consuming. Even more so then it already was. Actual red scrips items were completely worthless outside of crafting classes. The combat equipment that could be made was both few, and dozens of item levels below what could easily be obtained.

FFXIV failed at its launch, that is true. But it also had some really good things going for it that ARR completely gutted. One being the quality of the graphics and the world building feeling more natural and the other being crafting being unique.

I cannot understand why one can say ‘‘FFXIV failed’’ while in the same breath saying ‘‘ARR is successful’’. They took a failed launch, and instead of making it work they broke it down, stripped out its heart and spirit and made it into a medium budget WoW clone.

These are illusionary numbers. Do you know what the number one reason is people come to play FFXIV or WoW? Because they are popular. They have a lot of players playing them, so they must be atleast pretty okay games?
If you read closely you will notice they only list their player numbers in the way most favorable for them and only when they are marketing something else at the same time (for example, an expansion).

When they implemented a change resulting in House owners losing their house if they did not log in for a while. You could get your Purchase price refunded. But: only if you logged in within something like a month after losing your house.

That is a pretty desperate measure to regain paying customers, and is not something you would see if ‘‘the game was doing really well’’.

SE really cut down on the support for the game, so it would seem they disagree.

PS: I made the first Heavensward 2* item on my server. It required about two dozen hours of time investment. In Heavensward Gatherers and Crafters have had a very unfun experience. (untill the point I stopped I playing, in october/november)

Crafting a single item per week as a crafter…and being unable to make anything useful (to anyone but another crafter).

first of all i did say wow and then ff14, dont cut it how you want.
is SE can cut it and make as much as it do, why not? its on the players really not SE.players suporting this thing there, thay say time and time “they have a small team so it ok”.

close to 600 posts and no official statement yet ? ;(

I actually think IMC is mostly doing fine and they are not half as bad as many people make them look like but they could really do better.
(still most other companys are worse XD)
