Sapper dex or str discussion

Hello guys,
I’d really like to hear what you guys think about this.
Im going to do archer>quareel shooter>sapper c3>scout>cannon c1
But, i don’t know about what stat to build yet.

I’d prefer archer c2 than QS1 most people who play qs usually go with QS3 for running shot. Archer c2 give you bonus crit with swiff step, heavy shot which can push enemy back to your trap and higher lvl multi shot for early boss fight

For stat with your build have sapper c3 I think str should prioritize

Hope pros can help to clarify some points.

a) Swift Step’s critical skill attribute only applies when player is moving. So that only works while both moving and attacking?

b) Critical proc applies when an attack/skill is used initially. So laying down a trap such as broomtrap is considered not moving and thus Swift Step’s critical skill attribute doesn’t apply?

Well since traps and cannons are stre based i would go pretty high at STR :slight_smile:

really?? is there a source confirming it? I thought it would apply while the buff was active!

Hope people who played can help us clarify. I can only confirm evasion and movement speed is active if and only if the player is moving.

I also wanna know how the critical rate skill attribute in swift step works.

well ar2 is nice for heavy shot too (even tho u only rly need one point in it) it can help u shoot mobs into your traps ^^ 1 circle in QS isn’t worth it, if u go QS atleast go deep enough for running shot.

Sapper traps are STR based, you should go STR.

QS 1 is not that good of a choice, but again, there’s not much synergy with other choices.

Archer C2 can give you Crit rate bonus from Swift Step, but going Sapper you’ll have much more STR than DEX, so you’ll probably not crit often. Kneeling Shot damage is DEX based, so it would not be so good in your build since it’ll be STR based.

Now, we have Multishot which should scale well at higher levels since it hits 11 times at level 10. You know how most buffs on this game are flat numbers, so they work better with multi-hit skills. Heavy Shot should work with Sapper to knock enemies to your traps, but I doubt it work on bosses, you’ll probably only use it with elites, and for that you need only one point in it.

Ranger C1 is good at start, Barrage is very nice damage, but at only level 5 it’ll fall hard at high end. Go Ranger C3 for maxxed Steady Aim or don’t go Ranger at all.

Maybe going QS 1 was not bad in this situation, since Stone Shot scales pretty well with STR, and stun. Deploy Pavise has a chance to inflict bleed, which damge should be STR based, but it’s only 10% chance, still it’s better than nothing.

I thought about QS because of the shield that can provide me some protection from ranged attacks to set traps safely and stone shot for the stun. And about stats, full str or 2:1 str dex?

a. nope. it just add 25% to your cri rate no more or less no required to do anything just have the buff up. Your idea is funny tho.
b. every that is not magic can CRI.

i was QS circle 3 in icbt2 and what i can tell is as an archer, high spirit is more preferable than high str/dex because we need to cast more skills…it is just based on my icbt experience though and i don’t know much about what has been changed lately for archer

The attribute works ALL the time.
And just for reference.

Damage of the trap is calculated when it hits not before it.

You could lay out a broom trap.
Use kneeling.
And enjyo +x damage to your broomtrap + crit chance from kneeling + crit rate from swift step.

But swift step works while not moving?
If what you say its true, now i really don’t know what to choose ;(
I thought about 50-70 con and the rest goes to str.
Because i love crits, but that would be nice not only but more with boom trap

Why shouldn’t it work while not moving…

And yes, i am a archer player. I tested out these things. Swift step buffs your crit rate. Even if you dance in town or play cards or shop at the AH.

About stats.

It’s what you want more.

Pure Stat is never the best…
I woudl advise a mix.

And con is great if you want pvp and more hp. But it won’t give you much damage as you are a dps class.

Problem too is. You need Block penetration (trough gear or spr stat) so that you wont get blocked lategame by mobs to often.

It’s not that easy to build the right stats.
But physical attacks have it rough, as long as stoneskin is still so op in pvp… and in pve block really is annoying.

I can understand going QS1 for stuns only and pavise.

Here’s some advise:

  • 1 point in OB out of fulldraw
  • Max stockades. It does triple atk … scales good.
  • Max collar bomb. AOE multihit if done right, nice.
  • Spikeshooter sounds nice, but it’s a glorified multishot. You can take it if you go c3 for it. But you will feel it lacks soon.
  • 1 point in detonate traps atleast.
  • punji mostly benefits from your attribute. 50% phys atk to enemy flung aroudn and the bystanders. PER enemy flung.

Why scout? it’s pvp mostly to go scout 1.

Scout for survival only. Stealth, blocks, fear…
So how much level punji you suggest?

1 Punji stake is enough.
Each level extra only is helpfull if you want to have two up consectuive for pvp.
