Sapper claymore needs changes in my opinion

So I am a C3 sapper. I love the class but I have issues with claymore.

More often than not its a completely useless skill, especially because its a frontal attack and especially in parties its pretty hard to hit enough mobs for it to be worth using. Often I end up hitting just one.

I suggest changing to a 360 skill. At the moment its mostly broom trap that does our work and 2nd viable skill would be nice.

Any other sapper agree?

Sapper 3 here, yeah it’s a pretty know fact that claymore is super bad right now, in every aspect there is.

Considering the cost, cooldown and no overheat, it could at the very least DO damage … Right now it’s not doing anything else than knocking down mobs ;_;

Maybe someday some rework/buff :stuck_out_tongue:

May I ask if you max claymore? 15/15

So far my sapper build has been 3 Stockades, 2 conceal, 15 claymore, 15 detonate traps, 10 broom trap

While claymore is ■■■■, it certainly seems better than our other options.

Nah definetely not maxing that … I’m thinking of putting my spare points either in Stockades or Detonate

They should make it super strong against flying mobs. When you go Sapper 2, Scout like me and meet a bunch of flying mobs you just want to die. Add that to the fact that collar bomb is like, pure ■■■■, and you will see that there’s no meaning in life at all.

So my suggestion is, buff the ■■■■ out of that attribute that increases damage against flying types and give it a better range (also I’m pretty sure it drawns aggro when set up from stealth, remove that -_-).

PS: Just reminding everyone that claymore isn’t just a trash skill. It’s a trash skill with a 300 silver cost per cast.

You must be using it wrong mate

It’s not like the game would allow me to use it to start with. If I don’t tag someone with an AA first it misses, if there’s a mob between me and the target it misses , if I use it from stealth it misses, and I think it just don’t affect some mobs at all. I hit like 3 each 10 shots I give with that thing, and it only do like really good damage with a linker around, solo it’s just…ok.

Yeah, it’s really far from ■■■■. Definitely buggy as hell (not talking about the “resist” thingy), i wish it had a bit more explosion range too … But it’s fairly good

Dunno why you have so much trouble with it tho, it works like 75% of the time for me ^^

Controls maybe, I use keyboard only and targeting is pretty trollish at times.

Yes, 300, Ouch.

Claymore: 300 silver.
Broom Trap and Punji Stake: 36 silver.
Spike Shooter: 640 silver (L M A O).

I don’t mind the way claymore works just yet. Though I wish there was no knockback.

I also wish stake stockades was a small area DOT. Having to run around to make them walk into it is annoying. And sometimes they path around it.

@cyandk18 When detonate traps says 4 explosions, does that mean it can hit the same target 4 times? Like how stake stockades works?

No, afaik it means you can detonate 4 magic circles

Try using collar shot point blank. Works for me 100%.

Sucks that you have to go up close but does work.

I wish claymore has more AoE atk ratio than 5-8(maybe maximum is like10+ like mage skills) or just decrease the cost.
and collar bomb at least make it uncastable if not targeted or at casting range so we won’t wasted the sp and cd when enemy move away.

This class is bad because it doesn’t fulfill a role in a party when it should provide area control/denial but doesn’t due to lack of overheat, utility and duration of the traps.

The damage from broom trap / collar bomb is a poor excuse that it’s “ok” given the prep time to arm traps, even without counting the occasional animation lock / skill failure.

Yes I’m a sapper, just unhappy with the current state of the class.

Does Broom trap hit flying Mobs?? And why do you think its just “ok”? I’ve heard people talking really well about this skill. Just asking, i really like the Sapper concept, i want to go C2 when the free obt starts =p

Sapper feels kinda underwhelming at times. Broom trap is freaking amazing against melee/physical mobs that are grounded but when in late game where lots of mobs are either levitating or flying, Sapper’s kit suddenly becomes really underwhelming.

Claymore does alot of damage but it has a 30 second cooldown and it’s so expensive to use since those claymores do not come cheap. And it doesn’t scale good enough such that it still remains amazing at late game where mobs have 50k+ HP.

At this point the only reason I have to go into sapper is for broom trap. Other than that everything else in sapper’s kit just feels inadequate for the content.
