Sapper c3 or wugushi c2?

Hi, I’m really interested in playing sapper, but am not sure how to build.

I was thinking archer c2, sapper c3, falconer c1, ???

wugushi caught my eye too though.

Would it make sense to do archer c2, sapper c2, wugushi c2, ???

How is wugushi 3? Would it work in this build? Is there a better build for wugushi 3? Is it possible to put SR into either of these builds or is there a good SR build?

Quarrel shooter?

could I do QS instead of archer c2? If going qs is it mostly about QS C3 for running shot? Like archer c1, QS c3, sapper c2, ??? would that work? is QS C2 worth it?

It would make sense to make Ar 2 > Sapper 2 > Wugu 2 > Cannoneer. That’s the cookie cutter AoE build, if I’m not wrong.

By going Wugu 2, you might miss out on some damage since Wugushi’s nearly the same rank as Sapper. The skills’base damage won’t be as high as any of the newer classes’ skills or Sapper 3’s. However, that’ll give you 2 AoE skills that have a cd of ~35s, so you have a near constant AoE skill when you grind. But by the time you get to Wugu 2, Demon Prison will be way behind you.

By going Sapper 3, you get Lv 10 Broom Trap. And nothing else. Seriously. Spike Shooter is quite meh and Collar Bomb is very unreliable. But you’ll have a rank free to get Rogue (for capture) or Falcon (for Cannon, maybe? Sappers don’t really benefit since the Broom Trap seems to hit all mobs in range).

Would not recommend going SR for Sapper/Wugu. You do not want to be mounting and unmounting in the middle of a grind/boss battle. The pet AI is so bad that you may end up spending a few seconds chasing after the pet, or waiting for it to revive because it conked out trying to bite the big baddie. Also, there’s been a few bugs here and there with Catas (the mounted Swordies JIC you don’t know) crashing during boss battles because their mounts bugged out. Try going Ranger 3? Totally not sure about SR since my test in cbt was quite meh, but I hear SR 2 might be good.

The efficiency of going QS highly depends on your ping. ~100ms or below will give you the best, most OP archer that you see in the kToS videos. If you’re only going one rank in QS, I suggest going Ranger instead. The Barrage would work well for AoE since Sapper’s and Wugu’s AoE only hit ground mobs.

Thanks for your help.

So sapper doesn’t benefit from falcon because he has good aoe already? and sapper c3 isnt really worth it? Damn. I really like the idea of sapper.

And for QS circle 3 is a must? I like the idea of QS too but am not confident enough to dedicate myself to that off the bat. I want to work the falcon in too. Is there a more ideal falconer build?

Thinking

Archer->archer->sapper->sapper->sapper->falcon->musket

or

archer->QS->qs->qs->(not sure, fletcher or scout here?)->falcon->falcon

Unless you plan on relying on Claymore, the others don’t have a limited aoe attack ratio (the reason for Falcon). Sapper 3 is still fun, but you may end up having doubts as you’re running around, waiting for the 40s cd. Doing ~2.5k on a Harugal is lovely but that’s the only skill you’ll have time for in the Prison, unless you end up with an awesome team that gives you enough time to set up your Claymore and still hit the mobs with it.

QS - if you’re going c2, why not c3? c1 might be great for a filler though. There are so many times I wish I had soft taunt skills to make solo farming so much easier, but there are also times when I was grateful for taking Ranger for that Barrage.

For ideal Falcon builds, there’s the one from the first post in the [Guide] thread? Seems alright, but then again I am a boring person who goes straight for the AoE and nothing else.

Scout’s not bad - have you seen that video where the Scout ‘tanked’ during the mission? That is hilarious and might be useful since I find myself being the off-tank quite a lot during match-making. The few swordies I partied up with never tanked ><

Fletcher can also be a good filler rank since they have one AoE skill, Crossfire.

All these builds will end up depending on what your friends, if any of them are playing with you, will go. Random matchmaking can get extremely tiresome, although you can still go for pre-made parties.

If you have a Peltasta friend, go for the AoE and watch him get tired of you making the money while he sits there pressing one button every 15 seconds or so. Grinding has never been more fun.

If you’re going to end up solo-ing a lot, AoEs are grand but you might want to aim for really good single-target DPS skills. There are a lot of bosses, so the faster you get through them, the better your questing experience.
