Running Shot (in-depth Guide and Understanding)

Ah right, that build would work very well with many of Qs3’s kit isn’t it?
I recalled there’s also some Fal C3 skill that has synergy with maxed Caltrops.

Well, just realized I have seen this before :

This is totally still available right? Just like @Stricksocke 's Qs3Fal3

It’s a bug that is hot fix.

@lunettesrouges
kneeling shot is almost obsoleted in R8. Due to various reason.

I will post my explanation of the bug again as documentation:

Explain <<Click here

Falconer3 & QS3 caltrop-aiming combo (bug):

Please note, you need:

  • a flying mob or boss
  • a ground mob
  • Aiming hitbox enlarged on the flying mob

How to replicate:

  1. Throw caltrop
  2. Caltrops will deal damage until the hit registers on the mob
  3. Caltrops detect flying mob hitbox on the ground due to aiming (aiming circle is expanded on the ground) -> but flying mob HP cannot be decreased (caltrops cannot hit flying)
  4. Caltrops will trigger forever on the spot until it detects flying mob HP dropping
  5. all ground mobs at the spot will receive the hits of the flying mob (because the flying mob cannot be hit)
  6. The effect stops when the flying mob moves away from the caltrop spot
    => keep the flying mob(boss) on the same spot to trigger the effect!

Why does caltrop proc on flying bosses? => Caltrops is the only
ground skill in-game which cannot hit flying bosses. Other ground skills
are able to hit flying bosses.

I have a A1-QS3-Ro3-Sc (scout because I really did not like hacka or mergen).

The only thing it really had going for it was the 90% crit chance from lv 15 [sneak hit]. It worked for almost everything, all QS skills, auto atk. The only thing it didn’t work with was [back stab] cuz karacha set disable werewolf cards. I later broke my character even more when I took the rogue attribute dagger mastery: sudden attack. Doing this completely disable werewolf cards for EVERYTHING.

Now on a (+10 DGC + 2 lv5 yellow gems) + [sneak hit] + werewolf + 550 total STR, I would almost always crit for around 12k. I feel that is pretty low for r8 content. It’s really only good for hunting mats like blue spion leather, or pincer, or white chain. Stuff like that.

Yeah, I’m Running shot dedicated build ^^
In Hackapel hangout tread there are some info 'bout it.

did it ever cross your mind that you can use hacka attribute using sword as offhand to capitalize on the bonus socket (3) in compare to manamana? or the passive use of mount which adds mobility while using Runningshot? this just recently came into my mind while reading the hacka thread though.

@nfprivaron glad to see you here, i am actually following the hacka thread for more information in regards to running shot. durandal really is the best choice as of moment (fortis is not yet available -_- )

It did. But it was going against [cloaking]. That and pets get me killed when I use [burrow].

I’m building a cheap farmer/boss killer. It’s going Qs3 Ro3 Hackapell 1. With the aim to go full strength using Werewolf cards and sneakhit.

Right now I’m only at lvl 130 but it gets the daily Crystal Mine Mission solo Farm Run done quite good and fast with basically no silver investment, quite the opposite, it feeds my Murmillo.

It’s a simple build with a simple job. While it certainly is not the top future proof build right now since it totally relies on RS and boosting it to it’s max.

But you can’t argue against a class that only needs gear to improve it’s damage, bypassing attributes almost entirely.

Just know that the higher your lv becomes the less efficient you become at missions.

I just want to point out that you don’t need to go Ro3. Ro2 is enough. Also I have to stress DO NOT TAKE the rogue attribute dagger mastery. It will break your werewolf cards.

i’ve read a lot of this statements, not pertaining to the build or class or whatever. can you define what you mean when you mentioned 'Farmer?"

i don’t get what you meant by this? just how much ‘silver’ would this gear of yours will cost to achieve threshold damage to compare with skill attributes?

adds the fact that upgrading your beloved weapon requires good amount of silver, and is RnG based.

Funfact: Most Jobs can deal good amount even without gears. specially fletchers with broken equipments winning world boss rankings.

He means he wants to hunt low hp mobs that drop high profile items like shard statue for wizard bracelets.

What he means is he doesn’t need to spend on any +1% damage attributes.

Like c2gaming.seetoo meant, something that will simply farm mobs in the field that drop items that either I need or sell good on the market. A mounted class that can slice through a field without any downtime.

All you need is a +10 or higher GC, a Cafrisun and your good until lvl 220, add like a +6 or higher DGC after that and you are set for the entire current content. Thats at best 10 mil in silver for a character, though your millage may vary depending on server prices or how much you farm.

Werewolf cards you can farm while lvling, I already got two on that char alone and 5 more on my Murmillo from my need to get portium.

Random video I found on youtube solo 130, that op dmg!

so by your standards, Farmer is a char whom you need to spend 10mil to be able to farm? maybe i should introduce you my Scout3, 0 investment. easy and hefty 145D farming (900k / day) FASTER SOLOING xtal mines as well.

i guess players nowadays are that rich they are able to SPEND SO MUCH just for their toon farmers.

you want a farmer but you built QS3 for farming and yet, SPEND 10MIL at best. :sob:

Just know that the higher your lv becomes the less efficient you become at missions.

On 300+ I’m still 1st damage dealer in every mission on all bosses. QS3 in good hands never fell off in late game, despite ppl considering them useless on high levels.

I didn’t spent that money, I just transfered the stuff from my QS3Ar2Sc1Can2. And in theory you don’t need to spent money on a DGC, a normal well upped GC is enough. Or are you saying your Scout 3 can farm in the same speed without a weapon? Or one you can carry starting at lvl 40?

Ugh, one of “those” huh.

I’m talking about efficiency. As you reach the lvs required for gear (40 for gc and 220 for dgc) your damage from there will stagnate since you will not be getting upgrades between lvs. Also as you lv up so do mission bosses. Your damage basically stays the same while boss hp continually goes up. That is what being less efficient means. My comment wasn’t about being no.1 all the time.

The damage comparison was meant for other Class as such because you mentioned Killing bosses where i said most class can kill bosses without weapon, but not all. and comparing to a scout was lololol…

i inserted scout because you were saying you can also farm efficient with it. even mentioning the golden 10mil-ish expenditures for it.

but yes, for your information. SCOUT3 can still farm without weapon, bare-naked with just attributes. it will just be a little slow. (actually this is stupid but for knowledge sake, yes it is)

i think you might be confused but i’ll make it simple for you. Running shot follow the same PATTERN as other skill does:

(A+B) x C = D

Wherein:

A = P.atk
B = Skill atk
C = Atrribute
D = Damage output

normal skills follow the usual (A+B) x C = D

But Running Shot only has A x C = D

The only saving grace for RunningShot is that it exceeds the cap of 200%, which is +40% per skill level. this was good until R8, where Skill attack hit likes a truck.

excuse accepted.

Nope. That does not work sadly. =(

Uh, one of those huh.

Yeah, I’m talking about efficiency too. QS3 damage spikes are not from GC or DGC, obviously. And of course you damage doesnt stay the same lol. The overall DPS grows gradually with every rank - it depends on which classes you use after taking QS3.
And R8 gives you 3-4x damage boost from Running Shot AA’s if you go Hackapel.

That is what being less efficient means. My comment wasn’t about being no.1 all the time.

Twisted logic is so twisted.
