Running Shot, Damage Calculation and Grand Cross

Im a QS3>Wu1 now, and after I got lvl 120 I decided to change weapons. The results where underwhelming, Even with a bullet shooter (227dmg, I will use the max damage of the weapons to help me with the calculations here), my damage was the same, if not a little lower than my +5 Grand Cross. So I decided to overupgrade my Grand Cross, and the results were amazing. Using even only a lvl10 buff from Squires gave me around 2400 crits on the first hit of the Running Shot. (Current build: 150str, 50con, 50dex).

Now I undertstand that swapping weapons don’t keep the +80% dmg that the lvl7 Running Shot gives, only the duration. But, taking in consideration that Grand Cross always raise +280% damage, its is safe to asume that its not worth to change weapons until a weapon that DMG x 2.0 is higher than Grand Cross DMG x 2.8, right?

I made some light calculations, taking in consideration only the weapon attack x Running Shot Modifiers (x2.8 for grand cross, x2 for the rest).

WEAPON DMG RS DMG
+9 grand cross 163 ~ 456,4 (My current Weapon)

+10 grand cross 173 ~ 484,4
+12 grand cross 193 ~ 540,4
+15 grand cross 223 ~ 624,4

seimos crossbow 210 ~ 420
+5 seimos crossbow 245 ~ 490

catacombs shooter 305 ~ 610
+5 catacombs shooter 345 ~ 690

karasha crossbow 262 ~ 524
+5 karasha crossbow 302 ~ 604

Seeing these modificators and taking ONLY weapon damage as base, it seems that, from the weapons listed above, its worth changing weapons only at level 170 for a +5catacombs shooter, as my current + 9 GC gets better damage than a raw Seimos Xbow.

Are my calculations right? Now, I know weapons like seimos and catacombs will have better dps because of critical rate/attack they offer, but help me here with only weapon damage in consideration. Do I need to apply my Str in these calculations are well?
I need this because I have green gems ready to socket, and I was seeing if it was worth using then on a +1X Grand Cross or wait for Catacombs.

Didel Grand Cross will have to wait, I need a stronger weapon before I have a chance to farm it.

Hi, did you by any chance find a better weapon?

Like a Rogue C2-3 being stuck w/ the Karacha Set as BIS, QS3s unfortunately will either use an overupgraded GC at higher levels or a DGC if he’s lucky enough.

+80% dmg is significant enough, especially when you have tons of STR in your build coupled w/ p.Atk bonuses from equips.

Ar2>qs3

I did test this myself as well. I ended up buying a seismos Xbow out of the thought that it would be alot better. The change wasn’t that big, don’t remember the exact number of times it was enhanced. But I kept the GC+8 and resold the seismos. I was actually surprised that I got to sell the Xbow back in the AH for a higher price, knowing my best bet was to keep the GC.

One good thing about the build is you don’t have to change your weapon for a good while. Most likely lv 170 like you said.

Yes you are right, Grand Cross is best.

I did. Like the crude calculations I made, +5 catacombs shooter ended up being better than GC. Its my current weapon. Normal attacks tend to be 200~300 damage higher, and after 2 lvl 5 critical rate gems, I even stopped using cafrisun set and focused on more critical equipments because the crits are much better than the extra 200 hit.
A1>QS3>W2 here, around 280 STR, 100 DEX, 50 CON.

Its like @Relkos said, try the highest over enchant in your GC and keep it, becuse it will only be worth changing weapons at level 170.

Ty Guys!
I’m @ level 204 and using +11 GC and Mana Mana
with Viper bow as 2nd set… with both bow and xbow passive max

I just find in some fights that Viper has higher DPS than my GC+manamana.
thinking that my GC is already outdated lol
^non flying units (viper obviously for flying)

^observed at Sal Missions versos the Stone Mob and That Black cat

should i change my +11 for catac xbow or keep it?

If you have a +5 Cata shooter, sure, you totally should change!
You will see the difference in damage yourself.

Also, viper is probably being better at the monsters you mencioned because of their elemental vunerability. I know by experience (being a wugushi) that the golem and the tree are weak to poison, so that must be the reason why your viper ends up with higher dps sometimes.

Thanks Again, btw out of topic if you don’t mind…
I’m going the same path as you I’m A1 > QS3 > Wugu2, nearing advancement. Wondering what R7 you plan to take and why TY =)

I thought supreme kracked shooter surpasses all? in doing wugu damage? supreme kracked + mana mana better than viper and all,for land targets, and from what I read on other thread, not sure in RS tho, you sure +5 cata shooter gives better output than +10 up GCs?

For Running Shot damage, yes. I am not considering other skills in that.
Superior kracked is the white weapon of lvl 220?I admit that I haven’t take it in consideration. If its attacks is higher than the catacombs + the 31 physical attack it gives, then yes, it probably will give a better running shot.
In theory, for poisons to wugushi, the weapon with highest damage and the most elemental property attacks you get, the stronger the poison ticks.

I am not sure yet xD. Wu1 was a little pain and monotone, but Wu2 gave a big boost n the DPS with longer and stronger poisons. My initial plan was Archer2 (Swift Step) or Musketeer(lack of better choices), but now Im considering wugushi 3(even longer and stronger poisons).

lol i am thinking the same thing as you! also considered A2 for the crit rate but then remembered i have no dex for the crit lol.

I am torn between cannoneer (better AOE) and Wugu3
but everyone is telling me to go musk lol

I think Cannoner is lacking (at least without circling), but it will give our build the AoE damage we don’t have (that poison pot in the floor is not enough). Probably people suggest musk because it will turn the build in a monster single target killer. But, It will require a musket, and I want to use Xbow and shield at endgame.
You need to see your focus (pve, pvp, etc). I think Musk will require some dex at some point as well.
Don’t be afraid to put dex in your wugushi. You are QS as well, and even if poisons don’t use the dex, your attacks will. And maybe your next rank may end up usng as well. But don’t touch it if you go wu3.

Yes, it is better by approx. 30 average damage at all critical rate levels.
