This is my char using shade set for high evasion with only 97 DEX.
I have yet to start adding green gems to the boots.
No, no, no. That isn’t a handicap. You are essentially increasing the evasion to the cap (80%) with the shade set. Shade set is one of the best sets for low DEX characters to cap evasion.
Furthermore, you didn’t even use Aspersion buff to increase the plate armor’s home ground advantage: high Physical Def. It’s like wearing leather armor without using Swift Step. That’s completely unfair.

dont depend too much on evasion, crit att will kill you, or with shade, normal attack will kill you also
the best before virtov, is ibre, just use ibre pant+top+aspersion buff
but use superior bandit boot+ 2 *5 gem for more evasion
now you have both evasion+def lol

Note that with plate you do need to enhance the armor and legs with anvil =( otherwise you won’t benefit that much.
so for plate to be better you need to refine it? o_o I didn’t even refine leather virtov/roxona.
Well. The more physical defense you have the more you get from aspersion. I’ve got to the point almost every physical monster hits me for 1 or I dodge. This wasn’t possible at stock values :<
I mean if plate set offer crit dmg / crit rate / physical attack I would change in a heart beat. But I love dmg and evasion way too much x.x
Well. My case is a bit different. The plate does gives more p atk and STR >< (Lolopanther)

Physical def works by negating physical attack in flat subtraction, e.g: 800-600 = 200.
You need to upgrade high defense plate armors and combine it with aspersion for it to be effective.
In your case, it’s clear to me that you’re better in leather armor, because:
- You don’t have enough physical def to mitigate most of the damage in your current plate armor set
- You can’t reach high enough evasion in your plate armor equipment (1021 evasion in this test case)
- You said yourself not wanting to give up offensive stats in your Virtov leather set (which is understandable, everyone has their own playing style)

yeah I’m a high dex build with 31 cons.
IIRC, your invested stat is
172 DEX
31 CON
112 STR, right?
then total stat points that can be invested at 280 is 315 point?
i thought it was 279 point from leveling and 38 point from misc (hidden quest excluded), from Xan’s guide
