[Rogue] what will happen if you use sneak hit while your crit rate is negative?

for example your crit rate is 50.
dullahan crit resist is 100.
(50-100)/666+70%= x
will x be 70% or below 70% or simply 0%?

Tests from various users during iCBT2 seemed to show that crit res still plays into sneak hit.

Yes, sneak hit is still flat.

So you would presumably calculate your negative crit chance (assuming you were level 250, no idea where 666 came from, ((50-100) * 42) / 250 = -8.4% crit chance), then add whatever sneak hit is to it (-8.4 + 70 = 61.6%).

Archers inherently have level / 5 in free crit rate, so as long as crit res on monsters and bosses doesn’t get too wild, just the free crit rate and crit gems should theoretically ensure you’re always getting the full crit chance bonus from sneak hit in PvE.

i remember 666 is 100% crit chance for 0 crit resist mob at lv 280, so to simplify my equation i use (crit rate-crit resist)/666*100% :stuck_out_tongue: don’t mind me
thanks for the detailed answer, everyone

Yeah in a lot of games something like sneak hit wouldn’t care about any existing crit calculations, but ToS just likes to do things differently. Either way, I’m not too disappointed, sneak hit is still a lot of free crit chance even at c1. Just need to give up those glass mole cards…

worst case scenario will be
at lv 330
(0-130)*42/330=-16.5%+70%=53.5%

at lv 600
(0-130)*42/600=-9.1%=70%=60.9%
