Rogue Questions
I imagine there’s been quite a bit of people here who played the previous cbt’s
On iCBT people couldn’t get that far on levels and most are not able to play on KR, so that is why there aren’t many answers.

To trigger vendetta, you need your opponent to be bleeding.
Skill description says you must kill the enemy for Vendetta to proc, where did you get this bleeding thing from?
At the same time, is it worth the time? Instead of going scout / double rogue I could go scout / 2x fletcher
Your preference, they have different playstyles.

additional dmg to barbed arrow vs mages
You mean mage monsters right? Don’t forget players can wear any type of armor!
Or simply crossfire while cloaked, for massive aoe dmg.
While Crossfire is good, don’t get confused by Cloaking’s attribute. It does NOT increase your final damage by 50%, it applies 50% of your PATK (with NO skill damage or multiplier involved).
If you have 600 PATK and your skill does 2000 damage, Cloaking would only give you 300 damage bonus.

Sure it was boring, that’s why they’re the unsung heroes. Not many people wanted to sacrifice their time to play a boring class in an otherwise fast paced mmo. Just standing there buffing people, seems like not much but it enabled the defences to be able to have a much higher damage output, making enemies unable to burst through.

Yeah I can see how pvp can be annoying honestly. I liked the way they had it in royal quest, every 10 levels there was a map where you could level with pvp enabled. You didn’t Have to kill other people, but if you did you got some of the loot they acquired in the zone. The exp rate was much better there, but whenever you died I think you lost it, too? So there were incentives for people to go there but you didn’t have to.

In the last video that’s a berzerker from what I understand. I think he got a big nerf this patch so you would have to read as to what exactly changed and if it’s still viable. At the start of the vid in top left corner under his character level you can see his buffs enabled, if you’ll look for them in the skill simulator as you unlock swordsman/barbarian, you will easily see which they are. Not exactly sure how he achieved it, I got the vid from this topic: https://forum.treeofsavior.com/t/is-it-me-or-are-barbarians-op/31050/66 Maybe you will find more info there.

Thanks, I hope you get into beta too! PM me once the keys are out, I wouldn’t mind a friendly priest if you’re up for it

Ah also, since you’ve been playing a lord knight in RO, I guess you remember the road to him which was mobbing stuff with your knight and killing them with aoe skills. Well, maybe something like this then?

I ment the passive you can buy for vendetta, Vendetta:Counter Attack. From the description, if the target is bleeding you double the damage.

If cloaking works as you say then its simply very, very bad. I hoped it was the enabler for an assassin like class, at least rogue like class. I guess a rogue can still do quite a bit by… well for example stealing a safety zone with capture ( if possible ) from under steparu when he thinks he’s safe.

I ment mages, you’re right though a lot of them might just be wearing plate for the additional health bonus.

As it is, my whole “rogue might just not be as bad” crumbled with cloaking out of the way so I guess that’s that for the topic. I thought it might be the opposite of all the auto-attack based classes to be somewhat different, I should of known I guess… Thanks for the input and for crushing my dreams you bastard! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You are welcome, lol.

Oh, I guess Backstab’s attribute works for Vendetta’s one (the bleeding).

Well that was my original question :stuck_out_tongue: in RO you had bleeding and then you had massive bleeding, two different types of bleeding - it might just be an amplified bleed for all I know and it would make sense that rogue would be self sufficient for the combo but then again, I guess it needs testing to see.

Ty for the link. Well, this proves that a rogue can be deadly even more with the latest buff to backstab, but at the same time leveling with it sounds like a chore, not entirely great so I’ll rethink my strategy ^^

Alright then, I’ll hold you to your word ^^

Ah and since knowing my luck I most likely won’t get into beta, you can be my eyes alright? ^^

XD i dont have fantastic luck either… but i do have an abundance of time, so here is hoping. im kinda uninterested in the MMO i’ve been messing with for the last few years >.>; which blows because ive been playing since alpha and i dunno out of no where 0 interest anymore.

I have too much time on my hands aswell, here’s to hope indeed ^^

Out of curiosity, what mmo are you talking about?

final fantasy 14. I’m a white mage main… (so healer… of course) and i dunno, i adore the art, and its fun for me, its just end game dungeon runs really wear a person down after time. There is only so much you can handle of people blaming you for their dying before you want to punch the weak link in the face (lovingly). Ah the life of a healer XD

Haha, sounds like you had a lot of fun in it xD some people really do need to be punched sometimes though, it has to be said xD

I never tried final fantasy past 7 I think so I might be missing out honestly ^^ I’ve mostly played RO when I was younger, tried most of the mmo’s on the market then settled in darkfall online for a couple of years and well now I’m here. Mostly cause of the nostalgia though, I’d play RO from time to time still but with private servers if i’d play it from time to time, the server would most likely die before I could get the ball rolling. I was never the healer in any game I played though, I was always a vicious bloody killer xD

I guess it’s still beta, new classes are going to be added, old ones changed - what we see ourselves as right now might not be viable/fun to play tomorrow so we’ll see how it goes

ah! RO was my first MMO as well. i think i started playing the very end of HS and then i played through some of college. then went something like FF11 > WoW> Aion > Warhammer >Tera > FF14 or… something like that at least. every so often i make a character on RO again and maybe get it to the first set of transcendent classes… butttt then i stop. in the last few years especially… i cant buy any gear XD 99 mil for a darn bow = brutal.

as for classes i mean 99% of the time i’ll play a healer when im playing with someone else but then i’ll make a something else to mess around with on my own. RO was my agi knight and a hunter… and final fantasys online i tend to play monk or bards (they are more like hunters in FF though)

when ToS finally launches i’d love to try at least one from each base class… something smashy from swordies, full healer from clerics… something i can solo with on archers… and i dont even know on casters… i mean aside from healing i think magic users is always my last priority leveling… it just never clicks too well. i have to wait until someone makes a super specific guide where i can just be like "ok… steps 1 - 20 (check) "

i think the earliest final fantasy i played was… 9? i came super late to the game XD only started playing video games after i met my husband (at the time boyfriend)… before then it was all study study study and sports or reading.

You should try everything, me I’m gonna powerlevel as usual though ^^ That’s just what I do, I finish pve to get to pvp as soon as possible. I like intelligent opponents is all, AI is never good enough for me. That’s why I could never really get into raid based games

I have a feeling we are very different players but it doesn’t really matter as long we have fun, right? ^^

Your husband did you a big favour then by introducing you to the world of games it seems xD

Barbarian has nerfed so damn much… That videos is very old…

Barbarian only had extra crit chance… the damage came from Highlander’s 2h swrod attribute and, on this video, from Doppel’s Deeds of Valor (+50% atk).

Doppel needs a nerf on Deeds, imo. The buff is about the aspd bonus and 50% patk for free is too much (like losing 50% def is that big of deal, come on).

3% patk per stack would be enough, making 15% at max stacks.

It is when the map is full of archer mobs that have a 100% hit rate since their attacks are locked onto you :sunglasses: You can’t run away from the archer of doom!

O.o eh… it’s 10% PER stack. Not max. So since you can only get Deeds of Valor to level 5 skill, it’s 50% ATK and -50% DEF.

It was crit chance that got transfered to Cleave, crit damage was from Highlander’s attribute, which got nerfed.

And I said Doppel had +50% atk because it’s 10% x 5 stacks… which is huge since it acts multiplicatively with skill attributes and crit modifiers. You don’t even need to be equiped with a 2h sword to use it.
