Last time I played was august, I have a Cryo/chrono. Is it still relevant pvp wise? or am I gonna get an ass whooping?
If so, what comes after Chrono? R7-R8?
yes they are still good, R7 go chrono again or rune caster for ice damage with rune of ice if you want something different right know, R8 go sage you should be able to duplicate things.

no they are bad, elememe are horrible now, pyro are only the viable class because agny necklace, tree of swordman they are the only one getting buffs (troll version)
You forgot to mention the boatloads of link resistant mobs…

Cryo chrono sage is the only viable wizard build right now and you made the right choice. Elememe is a joke now. You are pretty much one of the lucky people who made the right choice.

Would you please stop repeating this if you don’t even play the game. There’s very few link resistant mobs and none at dungeons/ET
Wizzies are still great as long as you can beat the mdef wall. Agni does not help you at that. It helps you after you were able to beat it

I just plan to use Frost pillar and Chrono buffs. Will I still need to beat the MDEF wall with that?
I agree with bramia. Im fomerly cryo chrono sage build but i realized that the class is just too boring for me (just my opinion) so i rank resetted to chrono linker. I dont know why many people say theres a bunch of link resist mobs. so far I only encountered a few at maven and timerys (and you can skip maven and grind storage instead, as for timerys, you can card your way to lvl 300 and grind mollogheo instead)

Agny’s calculations works like that of quickcast, it is useless if you cant reach that 2500 m.attack on rank 8. Builds with linkers are still viable (which is like 80% of viable wiz builds) Cryochronosage is still good fpr support. Elememe is a joke at rank 8 unless you reach 2500+ m.attack, same goes for cryokinorunecaster and pyro dps, they need 2500+ m.attack. Dps builds with linkers on it (wiz3link2necro3, wizlinksorc build or the likes) are viable on grind parties mostly because of the linker part. Chronos are still good at supporting with pass haste and quicken. Thaumas are still situational because they eat up buff slots alot.
Wizzes are more of a support role on rank 8. while clerics are dps. Yeah its ironic

Uh? There are plenty of link-resistant mobs. Investigation room temple slaves. Maven’s nuos. Khonot’s gosarus, Khamadon’s moglans…Timerys pag shearers, Jeromel’s amber dogs, Citywall shardstatues… LOTS of rank 8 maps have at least one type of link resistant mob, and it is very noticeable if you’re a wiz dps class that relies on linking for damage. And they’re absolutely in dungeons too. 290’s mages have link resist, 315’s golems have link resist.
It’s certainly possible to avoid them, but I am not hopeful for the future if the trend continues. They are not rare. But despite this, linkers are still probably one of the most viable wizard classes when it comes to end game pve.
In pvp, chronos seem less useful now that stop has been unbugged. Cryo is good. Linker and kino are also good choices for wizards, and warlock remains decent. But all pale in comparison to our new cleric overlords.

i have a linker c2. i grind at lhadar and then at mollo, it just helps to avoid link resist mobs.
if they are link resist, use pyro skills with agny, linker is just good utility. Im not willing to give up an 8x damage boost just because 1/3 of mobs in rank 8 are JP resist.
sooo… Cryo/Chrono in PVP is a nono?
