Reset system will exist?

One reset should be given at some point in the game for free, but after that it should be Cash Shop only. Not fond of there being an in-game skill reset for this type of game where there’s a lot of skill choices/diversity (Even if a lot of people end up going down one road because it’s the best), and if it has to be in-game, then it should be so high-priced that you’re better off buying it from the CS anyway. The exception to this would be if they made a noticeable nerf to a (sub-)class, in which case, they could just auto-reset all of the skill points for everyone of that (sub-)class.

One of the main worries for this game is if IMC will be able to make enough income through the CS, and this is one of the things that should NOT be taken away from them monetizing on.

Really off-topic, but I just remembered a time when you trashtalked me on Iris Online. LOL

Gomen. ;-; Back then (16 or 17?), I was devotedly-hostile towards anyone who said anything but good about the games that I liked, and attacked anyone who even so much as sneezed at it.

BUT NOW I AM TAME!

I was 17 as well, still in high school hahaha… Now I’m in my post-grad career… Come here you mean monster you.

As Ive played the KR CBT IMO I dont see IMC implementing this feature sooner/later… 1st of all this would beat the logic of you building and planning your character set up. In this game the Skill build and stat build is the life of your character which makes it distinct and unique to every character. “One does not simply share/copy skill/stat build of another player” but then again this is just my opinion… who knows maybe in the far future they will implement it but im pretty sure not sooner.

I would prefer to not have a skill reset. If they do add one in, I’d like it in the cash shop. Skill resetting takes a huge chunk of customization from the game. Mainly because 2 people can make 2 of the same character but with different skills. If one of the characters skills sucks or they just completely messed up they can negate their entire ■■■■ up and be back to normal or even better if they get help from the player who did their skills properly.

Most of us know what Diablo 3 was like with that crap skill system. I don’t want that to happen here.

Make a character > Choose skills and actually think/plan out what you’re doing > Play the game
Not
Make a character > Choose whatever without really thinking or planning > Play the game > reset and be right back to where you would normally without actually learning the games skill system

Rant over. But skill resets are for people who don’t plan out their character at all.

BTW I didn’t really read anthing in anyones post at all I just wanted to say this… now i’ll go read stuff

I hope this isn’t the case either, it’s not unheard of for a F2P game to give out resets(in the advent of major balance patches), PSO2 immediately comes to mind. You can buy a skill reset item from the cash shop with Arks Cash or the team just gives you a free one whenever they attempt to rebalance skills which would be every few updates.

With a game like this it would make perfect sence to have a cash shop reset. If you go down a path and find out its not what you expected especially with all the different class options you would find a lot of people quitting if they didn’t have a reset option. I know I wouldn’t want to re level 200+ levels.

If you’re playing the flavour of the month class path and get nerfed, that’s something you had coming. Or is being “only balanced” not enough? (granted nerfs are justified)

Not if you render the class useless, that’s not a nerf, that’s just bad game management.

And we already discussed “the flavour of the month” topic. That can’t even happen for a whole lot of reasons already discussed on this topic.

Doesn’t make much sense to me. Costumes might not even be enough income for them depending on how it goes, so you can’t just claim that will be enough with no data (not directed at op). It’s common practice for skill resets to be sold in the cash shop. They didn’t just create the game purely for YOUR enjoyment, the need to actually live their lives off of it- obviously some people still have a passion for making games for others. Not everything is about you. Obviously, they can implement some other things to avoid doing so, but I really don’t see a problem with it. We don’t even know what they will do with class balancing, so just voice your opinion when something like that happens. No one knows how it will go yet.

Anyone who says that allowing stat/skill resets ruins a game is 100% wrong. Take a look at Guild Wars 1. Anytime you were in a town, you were able to re-allocate your stats. It was an extremely popular and successful game. Resets exist in many MMOs and it’s fine. As long as it costs real-life money or significant amount of in-game money, you won’t see people changing their build every other week. Even if they did, who cares?

I’d rather see more character slots than stat resets, there’s like 8 paths in the swordsman tree alone that I want to play.

An item : Ability Reset Scroll exist for CBT so maybe in futur cash shop.

I hope we will be able to change skill points allocation by spending Silver, but Stats and Tree resets should be sold at cash shop with a 90 days cooldown or so, imo.

Think about people getting their Rank 7~10 and not liking their choices in the end? If there is no reset they may just abandon their character or even the game as a whole. The 90 days restriction is there so people can’t play whatever class they want anytime, so if they want multiple classes, 90 days would be a nice amount of time to actually level up them as a new character instead.

But of course, like many games that have resets on cash shop, those should be given to players for free when huge changes on skills/classes are made (but only to the ones affected).

Very nice!!! I like this suggestion. Im not in favor with that reset thing but with the 90 days cool down or more would be a better choice!
