Reset system will exist?

Well the KR version already has a skill reset feature in the shape of a skill reset scroll available via cash shop. Unless they have reason to change this you can assume it’s gonna be the same for us.

Oh,ok then, didn’t knew that, thank you ^^.

Guess it’s settled then, it’s a cash shop feature. Maybe we can get some scrolls through some quests as a reward. We’ll just have to wait and see ^^

I hope there are no stat or skill resets and stuff. If they exist, then the large majority of people will just end up playing the flavor of the month class combination and that’s no fun.

That’s very unlikely, since you can’t change the basic class, so if the flavour of the month is Peltast, you, as a Necromancer won’t use it.

Besides, (anda again comparing to RO), that was never an issue because different people have different playstyles. And even with the same classes, people would go for different builds because they got a rare card,or a rare equipment that goes well with a certain build.

I’m more concerned about the nerfs that will happen just like in any other MMORPG and will turn some classes completely useless. And if you can’t reset, what will you do?Delete char?Keep playing although you can’t achieve anything and no one will party with you? That’s my main concern.

That has never happened in all the games I’ve played with stat and skill resets because there is no flavor of the month that everyone wants to use

it would be stupid if it’s free … maybe first 2 times are free or something like that … but the fact that you can reset anytime for free is stupid … i actually HOPE its a cash shop item … if things like this are not in cash shop then what would be in cash shop ?

well lets see… cosmetic, Pets, mounts, dyes, map teleporter, smegas, etc

normally if they give huge nerf or changes for skills, they will reset the skills (or give reset scrolls). at least i’ve seen couple of times for other game (and 1 time for this game’s kr cbt)

Its fine to be in a cash shop. Just make it very expensive

either you don’t read why that is a terrible idea or you have lot of money to spend.

well if a character has been nerfed they could just give 1 free reset after the nerf.
i think this is a good idea? or not? just my opinion :+1:

I really don’t though.I’ll be honest here,I make about 7.50 an hour. That’s not a lot of money.Especially compared to some of the other jobs I’ve seen posted here.

That doesn’t change my opinion that it should be in the cash shop, along with your typical extra items.A lot of places do this exact same thing, but you can still come out on top character-wise and never spend a dime.More people do this than you think. If every single person did this, games like this would never be able to survive, because they’d have no way to profit from their work.

I’m sorry you don’t have the [probably cheap] amount of money to spend on something like a skill reset/scroll.It’s a personal problem that you need to solve, not push onto others or bash the game for.If you were in their position, you would probably think differently.

Dude,no one is bashing and i admitted that was my personal problem.that doesn’t change the fact that I still think it’s not the best solution for the problem although it is a viable one.

And on other RPG’s, that feature was paid in in game currency, for example.

So stop twisting words,I was clear on my posts, unless you didn’t even read them.

the most games I know had a free reset period after big skill changes/buffs/nerfs.

I’d just like to say that any game whose design is upended by letting players readjust their builds more or less freely is not a good game. That-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named remained relatively stable other than the increased number of Whitesmiths and Acid Demo Creators, and ToS is more rigid so that wouldn’t be caused by simply letting players adjust their skill levels.

I mean I’m not asking to be allowed to do it in the middle of a fight or even in a field between fights. That’s why I said once every couple days would be fine, because then you can’t exploit it over the course of one fight or even the course of an event, but you also don’t get screwed for or have to start another character and waste another month on experimenting with minor tweaks to your build.

Normally it’s come from cash shop

I absolutely loathe any kind of resets in MMOs. You’re supposed to build your character the way you want him to be at the end, but all resets do is streamline people into “fast leveling” builds that throw class diversity out of the window. You’re only gonna see 4 different builds throughout the whole game (1 for each class tree), those that level up the fastest, since there’s no point in making anything else until you hit cap.

That also gives any rich guy the opportunity to instantly copy your build because he likes it more than his, then overshadow you through spending a lot of money in it.

Unless, of course, you’re not able to reset your class choices but merely how many points are in each of your skills, in which case leveling speed will be only nominally affected.

Also, from an outside view, it would seem to me that ToS intends for every class choice to be roughly equal in leveling speed anyway, so I doubt being able to swap classes would matter much, especially after x number of balance patches.

Finally, the entire point of resets is that many players don’t know how they want their character to end up. Not everybody is an omniscient munchkin, and the bulk of any successful game’s player base will always be casual.

People are going to build what’s best and most efficient regardless of resets. Resets just support alternative builds and playstyles more.

I think leveling up in this game isn’t even that difficult or tedious so if someone really hated their class choices or skill allocations they could just…reroll o_o

of course it’s only beta and leveling is sure to be quick. upon release the game will probably have a skill reset in the cash shop. I don’t think resets are harmful at all…
