Remove Pay to Win Options (Like resurrecting with icoins)

What if IMC implements instant attribute leveling for cash, how that would be to you, guys?

if it still costs silver and you just pay for it to complete instantly i see no issue. seems more like a waste of money then a advantage.

Sometimes I feel like people donā€™t know what pay to win inherently is.

Iā€™ll give an example for p2w; You can buy the best items for real life cash, which in-game requires alot of time and effort invested in the game.

Pay to win inclines that if you pay real life money youā€™ll get a power-advantage over people who donā€™t. Not a leveling advantage or a ress. Pure power. Like you get to one-shot bosses and have them instantly respawn over and over for money, thatā€™d be p2w.

A game example I can give forom the top of my head is Allods Online. There was runes that could be attached to items to improve their power. These runes had an extremely low droprate at launch and you could upgrade them with special items that could be bought for money alone. To be competetive in PvE-raids and PvP you needed these runes fully leveled inserted in the best gear. This could be achieved from the in-game shop with real money totalling (per item) $10,000. THAT is pay to win. This was later changed, if Iā€™m not mistaken. But at launch those upgrade items could only be bought with rl-money.

I have to agree with this. i have seen alot of res/xp boosters be called to pay to win. I only see that as pay to save time.

but i could also call things like safe refine pay to win. While you can obtain it normally it changes a .005% chance to pay x dollars.

Exactly, that can however be seen as an advantage if the sole purpose of the game was to rush to max level and then everything ends. Which in MMOā€™s isnā€™t the case. At least, I have never heard of an MMO where the game is done after reaching max level.

I disagree. Self resurrection has nothing to do with difficulty, otherwise, we should simply remove resurrection as a whole.

Most likely iCon resurrection will ensure you for not losing important drops upon death. It is more an option for insurance, so I am fine with this feature.

Oh yeah? Have you ever seen any game with that feature? Especial MMO? Itā€™s an IMMORTALITY! Iā€™m not even talking about PVP, but in PVE mobs and Boss donā€™t regen HP, like you do, so u have infinite HP and MP. I donā€™t see any difference between immortality and self-resurection.

Especially MMO or MMORPG? Many MMO does not require resurrection, particularly MOBA games.
In MMORPG, I see many, particularly Asian games. Age of Wulin/Wushi is one.
And if you cannot see the difference between immortality and self-resurrection, then it is your issue of only having measurement in one aspect of the game. You may also claim Reset Skill is immortality as well, as it allows you to keep changing your skill against boss or in PvP. I still see it makes no difference when you have a party with a Priest to resurrect you.

I have played toskr, and you cannot res in PvP.

I recall those trinkets as well, the ability to be solo and bring yourself back in the same position even if you dont consider that P2W it is still a feature that fragments teamplay and ultimately the playerbase.

Iā€™d rather this be pay to win than pay to play.

Yes, and ironically itā€™s called Ragnarok Online.

ā€¦ Grose give me p2p keeps the game from breaking and keeps some of the undesirables off the game.

Hahaha ;D Waitā€¦ Youā€™re not kidding?

i just wish they dont add craps like costumes that boost your stats and some gacha crap.

Of course, monthly subscriptions complicate things for international players with how inflated the dollar generally is.

so do as steam does, steam does region pricing. Basically each region pays what is appropriate for their area. So technically some people are paying more then others but relative to their region they are paying the same value.

If you understand that lol

Thatā€™s up to them. Havenā€™t seen many online games do that.

I havenā€™t seen a game do it for a monthly fee but i have seen it for dlc packs and etc. Just throwing it out there as a possibility but that the end of the day it doesnā€™t matter imc has already said its f2p

Wasnā€™t Wildstar P2P ?
But recently went F2P.
Why was that ?
From how I see itā€¦
Only a select few MMORPGs can go P2P and stay that wayā€¦
IIRC Granado Espada was also P2P that eventually went F2P.
And then there is B2Pā€¦
