No matter how you see it, this release was pretty much EU-centric rather than for NA.
From the point of name-grabbing.
-
IMC set the release day themselves, confident they could do a decent release.
-
They set the time for 2 AM in america, 7AM in europe.
-
They had 10 days to prepare for the release (they claimed this) based on what they were selling, yet somehow, there were “unexpected problems” that would take up to 4 hours to fix and was announced 10 minutes before release.
-
Without a set time information, your only hope at getting the name you wanted was, as an american, open the game every 5 minutes at 3 AM. Europeans could leisurely do so at 9-10 AM.
-
The final release time was optimal for EU, around 10-11AM compared to 4-5 AM for america.

No matter how i see it, the message was:
“Tough luck for the largest demographic and potential largest source of income if they want to get the team name and character names they wanted!!!”
A “they had to do a release unfavorable for americans to avoid the server from getting overloaded” excuse doesn’t work here. The 10 days before release were exclusively to prevent that.
They made players pay for founders pack with that intention, measure the amount of players and prepare accordingly.
This is not about playing the game at the release, it’s about taking the desired team names and character names.
Needless to say, im incredibly disappointed by how EU-centric this was and how little IMC cares about american players that wanted to get their desired character name.
Edit: Im not even addressing the 1000+ players queue…wasn’t this supposed to not happen after they measured how many players would be on the founders release?

if thats your biggest problem you are one happy guy/gal/dog?
