Ranger's Steady Aim update / Rogue C2 or Ranger C3 for Musketeer?

Hi y’all

I’m making a A1-R2-Sc1-Ro2-M, about 6~7th char already, included trying A2-R3-Sc1-M and Hunter type. Currently at Ro1, rank 5 with this character.

My aim is increasing Snipe’s dmg to the max. And after several testing I came to the conclusion that the best way to reach that high & stable dmg is high crit rate and raw dmg, that’s why I’m trading A2 and R3 for Ro2. Mainly for 100% uptime of Sneak Hit and Vendetta. Sneak Hit and Evasion also clear up some points in DEX to put into STR.

To the topic: the new update for Steady Aim reads: add dmg change from (3 * skill lvl)% to (5 + skill lvl)%. My question is:

1/ Steady Aim had the (3 * skill lvl)% multiplier, but it got changed like this already isn’t it? As far as I can see, it has always been (5 + skill lvl)% since OB.

2/ In the event that IMC f*cked up (like usual) by mistaking the order, i.e from (5 + skill lvl)% to (3 * skill lvl)%, the difference between lv 10 and lv 15 spike from 5% to 15%.
So, if this change is real, R3 or Ro2, which in your opinion will have more merit to it? In other words, is Ro1 suffice? I’ll be sacrificing 100% uptime of both skills and no Evasion. Feint Barrage combo is still viable thou.

But if IMC f*cked up by didn’t proof read enough, and just copy from previous updates, disregard this topic then haha.

Thank you for reading

Hmmm I wonder too.
I read at patch note for tmr it change from (3 * skill lvl) > (5 + skill lvl) (45>20)
Yes It already change.
But It not only steady aim.
Highlander skills also already change too.

Because they first had kToS version of the balance tweaked in an image of iToS version in regards to Higlander/Ranger (we had those fixes before kToS as an experiment), then they implemented the patch on iToS that brought us an outdated kToS version that didn’t include abovementioned Highlander/Ranger changes. And now they are fixing it again. Hope it’s understandable.

It’s just how IMC are…

We never had the Ktos strong steady aim since our nerfs. It is (5 + skill lvl)%.

Rogue 1 is enough. Uptime on sneak hit will be 90%, 10 seconds CD.
You could go scout/falcon/a2 > musket after.

I already have Sc, the reason why I don’t want to go Ranger c3 is because I don’t want to have too much bow stance skills. I hate switching weapons. Having R3 will come with 2 more bow skills, equate to more hassle in skill rotation.
And it’s more like 85,71% uptime lol, not to mention I’ll lose 10 more % crit rate, 1/3 Vendetta uptime (25 STR with that), and no Evasion. These may seem insignificant to high DEX build, but I’m making a high STR build so every little bits help

You are at A1-R2-Sc1-Rogue1.
So choices are:

Rogue 2 > Musketeer. Benefit of 100% uptime on sneakhit, and evasion buff, and lachrymator is decent CC on mobs. Backstab isn’t necessary.

R3 > Musketeer. Benefit of a little bit stronger steady aim. Steady aim is all you will use from ranger if you dislike weapon swap. Spiral arrow on full-drawed mobs damage though. Snipe will hit more on fulldraw though.

A2 > Musketeer. Not very attractive since you are high STR, and already have rogue sneak hit. If you gear up a lot for crit rate it could be decent. The only reason to take A2 is swift step though.

Falconer > Musketeer. Mainly taken to provide party support through circling. Circling will only decently boost Covering Fire because snipe has been nerfed. However Circling + musket2/musket3 skills could be nice - we do not have info on those yet.

Circling + snipe nerfed:

Scout2 > musketeer. A big no. Scout is a rank1 or rank3 class, rank2 offers too little. Perspective distortion is a support skill, and it is bad.
Quarrel Shooter1 - only pavise and some caltrops. No.
Hunter 1 - buggy pet, and no Hounding/retrieve to reset pet. Might be OK if you really really like Snatching (on bosses).
Sapper 1 - worst sapper. Only sapper2 is decent for broom trap. Sapper1 is ok if you really like detonate traps (as PvP utility).
Wugu1 - if you like poison. Weakest poison though, low uptime.
Reiter 1 - using musket + xbow, pistol + bow? Can’t swap. Also, mount, dismount mechanics. You won’t get mount bonus stats when you are unmounted. No.
Fletcher 1 - only reason to take fletcher1 is Bodkin point to remove the annoying shield on Siaulai Tree Boss.

Tbh author, it’s either

Arch2-Ranger1-Scout1-Rogue2-Musketeer1 for full PvP, can even add Sapper1 instead of Arch2 if you are 100% retarded PvP person (I mean, you will suffer in PvE, but in PvP that build would destroy everything, and I know what I’m talking about)

or

Arch2-Ranger1-Scout1-Rogue1-Falconer1-Cannoneer1 - with this you will still PvP VERY well, but you’ll also be a welcome sight in any grind/et party because Falconer + Cannoneer and Feint + Barrage. In time, that build will probably outgear the first one, because first one has no PvE, and this one has excellent PvE.

Ranger2 is just a very bad choice and I recommend rerolling.

Only shows his capability to start anew, sorry, doesn’t justify levelling a rofl-build at all.

Haha thanks for the input. Of course I can still redo another one if the situation calls for it (some retard Musketeer updates or rank 3 could be shyt), but I don’t see the appeal in A2 at all since I’m making a STR build. Believe it or not, after 4~5 A2 characters, my first one is A2 R3 Sc Mu, others include A2 - Hunter and A2 Sapper. I’m done with it lol.

With A2 I get:
Lv 10 Multishot - will get replaced by Covering Fire, I hate swap weaps
100% uptime Swift Step, comes with some perks:
25% crit chance - pale in comparison with Sneak Hit if I’m able to maneuver enough.
Semi-perma CC with Oblique Shot: this is nice, especially when you’re in a pt full of mages and clerics who use ground spells, no tanks needed. But still have to use bows most of the time for this, and renders you to be a spamming bot so I’m not a fan.
Kneeling Shot - well…no DEX. Sp efficiency is a plus but it’s kinda boring.

By no mean I’m saying A2 is a bad choice, but I just can’t find the appeal in it with the direction I’m going for.

The only perk for R2 is Steady Aim, other skills are irrelevant, I know. BUT I don’t see the appeal in A2 over that tiny 5% of Steady Aim, since Steady Aim will be the skill rotation opening for me and I won’t be using Archer’s skill that much.

This one is fine. What do you dislike?

I think he hate Musketeer gameplay like me lol.

He is building one again.

Oh yeah how I forgot. This topic talk about Steady Aim for musket. That mean no way he hate musketeer lol. Then maybe he build new one because he need high/full STR.

I hate weap switching lol
Frame drops, inconsistent damage, musketeer’s skill froze your character a bit after use so changing weap becomes an even bigger problem.
Hate it so much that I’m ready to make several characters to get around it haha

if you want to stay in musket stance, you can play your build around sapper2/wugushi2/scout/rogue1/falc or hunter.
their skills dont need bow/crossbow stance.
tbh, you dont need to maximize snipe dmg, since i think the dmg cap is 99999, and with musket2 at r8, all you need is critical and high attribute with rogue and werewolf card.
