Ranger Steady Aim Really Sucks

This is the whole reason I even went ranger 3. 10 seconds of up time is just too pathetic for a class-defining skill. I feel like the duration should go up with each level, or increase both duration and cd by 10 seconds.

Either that or implement a circle reset…

yeah steady aim is quite useless when there are only 10s of duration :frowning: I need 15s or more.

I agree, this skill is useless now.

It’s fine - it’s meant to be a short buff for quick bursts of damage. For example, Steady Aim > Spiral Arrow/Spiral Arrow - that’s a pretty good 20% increase (without att bonus) for an already great burst skill.

Alternatively, it can be used as wave-clear assistance - Steady Aim > Barrage/Barrage/Barrage, Bounce Shot if there’s still remaining.

If it was meant to be short burst then they should revert the damage increase back to 45% at lv15.

I said this many times and people bashed me for it.
Steady Aim was insanely strong with 45% damage and 60% uptime, but they nerfed it a bit too much. It was a must for every missile build (not sapper/wugushi) and now it’s only decent for few builds.

It’s a skill to be used with Musketeer for an example: you dish ur burst while Steady Aim is active then wait for cooldowns. But people insist to use it with Fletcher, giving the most common example.

20% bonus at 40% uptime = 8% average bonus. This is what you get for spending 3 ranks in Ranger with a consistent DPS build.


My opinion is they should revert partially the damage bonus, to something like 2% per level instead of 1% (total 35% bonus max level). Keep the 10s duration so it reinforces the intended use and not a must for anyone.

sorry to revive this thread, I’d rather jack one instead of creating a similar post.
Anyway, I just started playing ToS on May 10th. I got to Ranger C3, Steady Aim at level 10. I feel like this buff isn’t making a difference in terms of increase attack damage. I tested the damage when using Spiral arrow, it made very little significant damage increase in my opinion. I got to the point where I don’t even bother using it anymore.
Does anyone have the same problem, Is it just my character or is the Steady Aim just severely nerfed?

Tbh, steady aim is kinda of shitty right now. The amount of SP wasted for a 10 seconds skill is pretty lame. The 20% is good? I don’t think it’s good enough to justify going Ranger 3…

The nerf was huge imo.

ps: I have Ranger 3 in my build, and I rarely use Steady aim, because of the SP cost and the ridiculous 10 seconds uptime.
