The thing that is unfair about the current system is that you actually get less exp if you get more of a challenge. Iād be fine with having a boss that is 15 level above me, but come on, donāt give me less exp for it!
I donāt know if it was a bug, but a while ago I was put into a group with a 127 char while my char was level 107. So it was a 20 level difference. I got almost nothing for completing the misson, it was really frustrating.
felt like i was replying too much that it makes the thread long so i edited⦠LOL
i also got no complains about the level gaps except EXP penalty. the challenge was actually good. One-Punch Golem is something you have to enjoy.
this was also thought that could be implemented for World Bosses, where the high level gets penalty from damage. giving lower one some edge for the cubeā¦
however, the idea defeats the purpose of indiviual players. for why one should be penalize for being ābetterā, or being āstrongerā. making the idea invalid.
the same goes for this issue⦠you cannot penalize players just for the sake of lower ones.
Ryaās idea implemented a few other mmoās pvp systems, where a lvl 30 could out play and beat a lvl 300 due to damage balancing. I think Teraās PvP system was a good example of how this was done. In the aspect of PvE itās kinda moot. You want higher level characters to do more damage. In terms of world bossing the fact that a level 280 would want to farm a level 170 boss just means that theres no end game content for that 280.

Guild Wars 2 PVE also works like that.
I donāt see why higher level players must absolutely deal more damage when thereās the possibility to have it fair for everyone. This is only for missions, not for open world / PVP.

In GW2 high level players are still a bit stronger even if theyāre scaled down to a lower level. They keep their high level skills and they usually have equipment with more individual stats on it.
Dragon Nest has a similar system for pvp. Where dmg is normalized between low and high players, well geared people still climb above the normalization though.
and for the record.
everyone has been recommending those since Beta times⦠and still not implemented. so better stop comparing IMC to other. we all know how bad our current setup is.
what i found weird in queues is that when Iām on my bokor or sadhu, they get grouped up with⦠other clerics and support oriented classes
like, 3-4 healers, and one run had the whole party full of healers
but when I play my sorc, Iād be lucky to queue and get a party with one 5 heal tile monk or chaplain
idk but this happens to me a lot
I often feel the same way ⦠Cleric groups with my Chaplain. Archer groups with my Falconeer and Wizard groups with my Ele ⦠
