Questions - PVE corsair3 theorycraft build post skill changes

I am interested in making corsair but no exp beyond corsair c1
and here go some builds in my mind.

sw3-pelt/hop/high-cor3-shin

This build benefits from high pain barrier uptime and clone copy swordman skills.
but sadly no specific synergy with corsair.

sw-pelt-hop2-cor3-?
r8 in my mind : hop3/dop/shin/drag

Hoplite provide finestra, ability to use 1h spear and pierce debuff.
Personally I prefer this build the most, but it’s hard to decide for r8.
So please suggest r8 class for this build.

This build focus purely on dmg, but no other synergy than cross guard pierce debuff?

Now question time! Which build you guys prefer most? or using then love it? Suggestion are very welcome.
Such as other build and their synergies.

And then about skill build. It should be the same for any build right?

This is the build i am using right now (With Shin as R8)
Its a fun build, sadly i hate using a one-handed Spear, although its realy powerful with Spear Lunge into Kunai.
Dmg is pretty good and some nice burst.

I will change with tomorrows Reset my build.

I will go for almost the same build, except i´ll take Barb1 as Rank 4 class. (Cleave is 50 Crit Rate and an additional Slash Debuff, comboing into Double Slash and Dust Devil)
Clones can copy Kunai, Double Slash and Bash from this build.

GOing with that build i would take Shinobi as R8, too.
(Probably think about going for Highlander2-Barb1)
Clones can copy Moulinet and Skyliner from Highlander which can be very deadly and yields some huge bursts. Sadly Highlanders Hitboxes are very small and u need to get used to it.
Also Cross Guard can only be triggered with a 2-handed sword. (Meaning when u go Corsair3 u´ll Dual Wield)

All 3 builds are nice and are for different play styles.
I for myself will go for the Sw3 way, cuz i realy fell in Love with 15 Pain Barrier, also Gung-Ho buffs ur Offhand and Mainhand Dmg.
Hoplite2 path is very strong for burst. (But with 1-handed Spear - i hate Finestras Animation)
Highlander path is also very strong and can bring some huge bursts. Still no Sw3.

My personal prefered build is Sw3-Barb1-Corsair3-Shinobi.

I would not skill DWA as high, í´ll only put 1 point into it. Its super annoying to use, and its still not great dmg. 1 point for stages where u have to kill some objects fast.
Jolly Roger is also not bad t omax, cuz of missile dmg. (Well its only 1 skill for urself, tho)
Hexen10, Dust Devil 15, Pistol 5 is a no brainer.

If u wanna Pvp i would go:
Hexen 10
DD 15
Pistol 5
Jolly 1
Hook 14 (Or 13 with Keel 1)

PvE i would go:
Hexen 10
DD 15
Pistol 5
Jolly 14
Hook 1

This is my opinion on Corsair builds. I played a lot of Highlander builds. I also have experince with either Corsair 3 and 1 and Shinobi aswell.
Also i play Sw3 and tbh. if u ever went for Pain Barrier 15 -> u´ll never want anything else…

Now I see why barb1 is the best for sw3 build.
As I never have sw3, I still am not at that level (lol).

I feel reaching 300 combo is rather hard to happen so I prioritize leveling jolly less.
But after maxing core skills I will put points in jolly for sure.

Now I am inclined to sw3 build but I have to try finishing shinobi prequest and test it first. Also, to see how can I perform DWA and stamina drain.

Well Barb 1 is a very nice filler for almost every swordman. Cleave is an universal all around skill (3 Overheat, +50 Crit Rate, and a slash debuff, nice hitbox)
Also u have a stun which is nice.

Actualy stacking a 300 combo isnt that hard as it sounds, in a 5min group it happens very fast.
Truth be told, its not that important if Jolly is 10 or 15 or whatever. Its 3% Missile Dmg increase for a full combo, so put skill points with caution. ->I will play my Corsair in ET and so going for a higher lvl in Jolly.

Another important point to note is, that as a Corsair u have to invest more money than other classes. If u wanna have a good Pistol Shot u need a good pistol. As of tomorrow the PAtk of weapons is a deciding factor for the dmg.
Still the main hand is more important, cuz thats where most of ur dmg comes from.
Pistol -> Pistol Shot
Main Hand -> Hexen, Dust Devil, Kunai, Double Slash

Also when u wanna hear my opinion on enhance attributes. Here is my priority list:
Kunai > Hexen > Pistol > Double Slash > Dust Devil

Well dont forget that 1 lvl enhance turns out to be 0,5% so its not that important as it was before. Still reaching 80 on Double Slash, Hexen and Dust Devil should be easy. Kunai should be around 80 aswell (Cuz its more or less ur main source of dmg)

After trying to get the shinobi flower today, I decided to just main my Monk…

Anyway, my main objective after the patch was to main a super fast attacker. And a dex-based Monk seem to fit the bill.

I did some research and it seems that DWA isn’t as reliable as it seems even after the patch…

I’m just serious about class and skill build as I mostly interested in gameplay.
Which gearing is not that serious since I planned to be alt character for now.
Hope weapons from hunting ground have good stats.

But thank you for tips anyway.

I’m interested in corsair c3 because pistol shot seems to have nice aoe. And I just find some class to replace cata-goon because I find it rather boring. But not just for auto attack class.
I don’t feel like monk because it is too similar to swordsman with small aoe.

I’ll try out DWA when reset arrives.

Yes, flower is a pain.

I did this quest twice now, and the Flowers spawns after a certian time has passed. I got my first flower after waiting for about 4 1/2h. I played Magic with my friends while that time…(It was the 31.12.2016)
I got the second flower this friday after waiting for about 6h

DWA was never good and probably will never be good, its only purpose is to kill ur own fingers, cuz of the clunky way to use it. (U can destroy objectives like the egg in ET very fast with it, tho)

Than this path is the best!
Well i come from a long journay on my main a Fencer 3. After a long break - Nier Automata - i came back to ToS and i still had the most fun with my Corsair-shin (although its a spear build atm)
So i decided i´ll wanna switch my main to the corsair-shin. Since they both use almost the same gear, except weapons - which luckily i couldnt get until yet, cuz there´s no rapier to go to. And now i still have my practoniums and i´m free to go for Aspana Revolver :>

Playing as a Pirate who is also a Ninja is just to good to pass on. I still hope that we´ll get a Eye-patch or an Pirate Hat…

Dont take pel r1 cus swap weapon is really bad. JR can aggo mobs around.

Is the corsair 3 skill Pilage any better than corsair 1 pilage after the renewall? i want to know if Corsair 3 will be a good farmer.

I have tried sw3-barb1-cor3 and love it. Incredible CC capability too.
I just realize leveling jolly decrease DWA STA usage.
So my plan for build now is jolly 13, hook 1, dwa 1.

Thanks. I just know that swash cant be used with pistol unlike dagger so I go sw3 path instead.

I played around with various builds now. And i feel like Shinobi on Rank 8 is the most optimal pick for Sw3-Barb-Cor3.

Doppel is fun, but Cyclone doesnt deal a good dmg on a Doppel C1 - also long CD. Well DoV is something worth it, tho,

Shinobi has some serious burst options - AND Kunai and Double Slash is useable with clones. And since Double Slash crits very easily (cuz of the attribute) its one of the highest hitting skills u have. Also Kunai is just so awesome animation <3

Yeap ! IMC did a post to explain that attribute of Pillage doesn’t increase more than level 1 but scales with rank of corsair (c1 > c2 > c3), I tried it ingame and i’d say it happens around 30% more often each rank (good for dkp farming now) + corsair 3 can use pistol shot, it’s a high multihit with a very good AOE range which often procs pillage twice per pack on it’s own :slight_smile:
EDIT : i forgot to say that neither quality of drop and silver amount increase, but it’s not the purpose of corsair’s farm anymore ! :slight_smile:

Well in the end after being unable decide what to reset my swordie into, I caved in and camped, got the flower, got all the mats and finished the shinobi quest in an entire Sunday…

Even bought a 315 blue 1h sword and manamana as a starting gear for my swordie. I am a little unsure about my stat build though.

My build is SW3-COR3-BAR3-SHINO1

  1. Stats I have 50str and rest into dex… Or should I just go full dex and leather armor?

  2. Gungho 10 restrain 0 or gungho 0 restrain 10?

  3. MAX double slash, PB and concentrate

  4. How strong is jolly15 compared to jolly2? Not sure if I should take iron hook. Maybe after the pvp rebalance this guy can be fun for pvp…

Don’t you mean Sw3BarbSair3Shin?

  1. 50-100 for Str/Con(wherever feel just right for you), rest goes high Dex for most of Concentrate’s damage modifier.
  2. Restrain 10, most of your skill will be multi-hits so Concentrate shines here and Restrain is there for those skill to proc stun CCs.
  3. Good
  4. Hook10 at minimum, JR15 is only useful for DWA stamina reduction(which you will hardly ever use) and if you party regularly with a Archer DPS, otherwise leave it at 2 for the attribute.

The Sair spare skill points can go to either Dustdevil, Hook or Keel. I’d recommend more points to DD since Cleave can boost it making it stronger than Keel.
You can also take points from other skill in Sw3 for Bash3’s knockdown attribute for more CC utility.

I dont intend on using DWA at all tbh so I think ill drop it to 0 and since jolly roger is just for dwa stamina i may just keep it lvl2 for unity buff… Its hard to trigger fever anyway for the missile bonus. If it was bonus damage for all class would have been a no-brainer… But just missile… Nah.

For katon and suicide skill, is it really worth the pts or just put 5pts into mokuton instead?

Well the build posted by Fuwaro is almost the same i have.
But i would definitly go for 3 points into Bash for the knockdown Attribute, since it helps alot.

Im still testing if i max Gung-Ho or Concentrate - cant set for anything right now. Both is good. But as im still changing between Dex/Str it may change a bit. Will post my final build at the end of the reset event.

Also Dust Devil should definitly be lvled to 15. Its a very strong skill and deals good dmg now.
Jolly Rogers should be lvl 2 at minimum.

Well Mokuton is 1 point - there´s realy no point in going higher. (Maybe even 1 point is argueable, cuz this skill is hardly ever used)
Katon and Mijin is a preference.
I realy like Mijins Dmg, but its annoying to use. (Although i like the skill very much)
Katon is a fast animation and deals okish dmg.
Katon and Mijin arent realy good DPS Skills tbh. But they fit to the Shinboi Flair and thats why i skilled them. Also keep in mind u still have the stealth attributes which are handy to use. (Aggro Reset) - Not sure if this is a bug or if it is intended, but if u are in a Shinobi Stealth u can attack and still be in stealth. (This works since ever i play Shinobi)

If that’s really the case, I might as well pick to max lvl5 only 3 skills? (Kunai, Bushin and Mijin) Why bother to leave em at level 1? I don’t know how good is the attribute ultility of Katon and Mokuton really is…

But if I ever plan on using Mijin for damage, it’s a no-brainer to max since the damage scales the highest and consume less HP on use.

I know mokuton works kind strange. Like when I get hit, I am supposed to teleport on top of the enemy but sometimes I get teleport elsewhere and stuck, unable to move it’s really buggy. And I think you still take damage despite it being a “counter-attack”?

As for the PvP aspect of the shinobi attributes:

  1. Does the invisible attribute from Katon and Mijin really turn you 100% invisable? Or can enemy player still see you?
  2. Does the mokuton really act as a bind on target? They can’t move but they can still attack right?
