Questions about Cannoneer

Well, my main problem is my high ping like 180-200 + then I saw a build of this Cannoneer using full STR and it was great but is this class viable for me because of the high ping?
Do somebody could recommend me a good form to use the stats for this build?
For pvp purposes I should change Rogue1 for Scout1 or would someone else recommend me something distint?

The build is Archer2-Sapper3-Rogue1-Cannon3 for pve.

Thanks!

For PvP, you must include at least quarrel shooter1 (missile block attribute), scout1 (invisible), and appraiser (devaluate). Archer2 is a PvE pick.

Build is fine. Example of build: https://tos.neet.tv/skill-planner#3115559fff.4a.6a.152535.1f2131415a627a85
Sapper = broom trap
Archer = swift step for crit rate attribute
Rogue capture broom trap and re-use it.
For cannoneer, you can switch skillpoints to the skills you like most. Siege burst knocks up and knocks away mobs, so I do not recommend it at PvE.

Cannon is viable with high ping, but you must not use auto-attacks.

Thanks a lot for your answer!

What do you mean for auto-attacks? sorry for my ignorance, I don’t understand the meaning of that yet… Could you give me an example, please?

The build that you post is similar to the other person put, the build is this: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/46iwbpi3fu/
(this person says that with that skills the build works fine for PVE and PVP)

Do you think that with that skills is fine this build? sorry for asking a lot, i’m still a noob about cannoneer, but I would like try it.

Auto-attack is your normal attack (or pressing Z on keyboard). It will be slow due to high ping. Skill speed is not affected a lot by high ping.

Yes, it is possible to drop cannon shot to level 1 (it is 5s cooldown, some players do not like to spam this skill due to SP cost). Taking cannon blast 15 is fine too. The guide you posted, it is very fine to follow. For archer1-archer2, the important skill is swift step for crit rate attribute. You can take any other ‘attack skill’ you like. Sapper important skill is broom trap (big AoE, but does not hit flying mobs). Rogue, take 5 sneak hit, 5 capture.

Build will be OK at PvP, but not top-tier PvP build. A specialized PvP archer build will be a bit weaker at PvE and will be more difficult to level-up.

Ohhh, I understood now about auto-attacks, then due to my high ping I will be forced to use only skills instead of attacking with the cannon or crossbow at high levels? Because you said that if I use auto-attacks it will be slower.

Yes, this is correct.

Ohhhh thanks! the last questions (sorry if I bother you):

  1. Is this build viable for bossing?
  2. What would be the rotation for bossing?
  3. Bazooka is a must? It can be used with Kneeling Shot?

It can boss but it is not a strong bosser like some other archer classes. Cannoneer is specialist at AoE mob clear.
Rotation for boss = stay safe and use Bazooka (makes you immobile), and spam cannon skills. Very easy.
Bazooka canNOT be used with kneeling shot. Bazooka is a better damage boost. Bazooka is easier to use if you are with party and do not move a lot (challenge mode, earth tower, …).

I really want to do a caster cannoneer sapper build, but I’m unsure on the mechanics of a few things.

The build I want to do looks like this one. http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/lcjxs4k488/ however I’m unsure if I should take Appraiser instead of Scout.

I already have an appraiser (bullet marker) and don’t fancy doing the quest again. How much will I lose on my build if I don’t choose appraiser here? Also, how do the aggro mechanics on Deploy Pavise work? I plan on dropping Stone Shot entirely in order to fully max out Caltrops and Deploy Pavise strictly for drawing mob aggro while I set up my various traps and installations. I figure lv 5 Pavse will be fine but does a higher level = more aggro? Would I be better taking 2 circles in Quarrel Shooter in order to have a better Pavise?

I plan on ignoring detonate traps too because I’d prefer to use Punji stake. are Cannoneer’s abilities reliable enough to cover my weakness to flying mobs as long as I take Shoot Down?

You just need level 1 pavise, unless you like more duration. Pavise will keep taunting mobs, so even neutral mobs will walk to your pavise and hit it. Each hit will consume 1 pavise HP (in-game they call it pavise block count). Higher pavise = higher duration and higher ‘pavise HP’.

Yes, shootdown inflicts a debuff on flying mobs. Debuff makes them take full damage from cannon shot. Shootdown -> cannon shot combo on flying mobs.

Appraiser is OK, but not necessary. Scout = a bit better at PvP, and easier to quest (invisible will ignore all mobs during collecting quests).

Ok. I was thinking I would lose too much without appraiser’s buffs and debuffs, but I think I’ll go Scout. My build actually has very little in the way of free, direct attacking moves since I’ve chosen to max both Punji Stake and Claymore, while still maxing broom trap. This means I have no room for detonate traps or Stockades.

It’s also not a crit focus build with zero dex so I can invest into SPR, so I probably don’t benefit too heavily from appraiser in that regard either. This is purely just a PVE mob grinding aoe spamming physical caster.

Another nice perk of scout is the ability to direct all aggro to Pavise even if the mobs are agressive, thanks to invisiblity.

Now here’s the question about the Shootdown combo. Can I ignore cannon shot entirely and just level up Shootdown, allowing Broom Trap to kill mobs who’ve been grounded instead? It seems to take up a lot of points to max both of those skills and I’ve heard that Cannon shot spam is mana hungry and unnecessary.

No, the shootdown debuff does not change mob into Ground-type. Debuff just make mob take full cannon shot damage.

Only skills in-game to change flying mob to ground-type is new Psychokino Heavy gravity, and hunter Snatching.
Taoist2 upper level skill also exist, but it will only let magic circle hit flying mob, so it won’t help cannoneer. It will help broom trap hit flying though.

Oh I understand. In that case is it best to max out Shootdown for a build that lacks air coverage, or just leave it at 1 for the debuff?

I recommend taking shootdown1 for the attribute debuff on flying enemies.
