[Question] Dragoon : Sacmet 2H Spear Armor Penalty

Easy to craft. 2 sockes and armor penalty.

Hard to farm recipe/mats and to craft, 3 sockets, higher min attack, no armor penalty.

I want to know which weapon is better for Dragoon. Sacmet or Regard Horn Pike?

Is Armor penalty too bad or not a problem at all?
Spear (Pierce) vs Cloth already -50% and with Sacmet another -225 penalty against cloth.

-225 is too bad or not? how do you calculate this penalty? -225 against cloth = -225 physical attack against cloth?

Or this penalty only apply to auto attack?

Or should I wait for RGP?

Considering the stats I’ll still use, building that weapon is costy though, IMO it’s better to wait for the “real” BiS in current level range, which is RGP. It will save you Blessed Gems and silver in the long run.

Almost no one wear cloth in pvp. (Aside noobs)

There had been ALOT of leather monsters. I dont expect much change.

However, the most trouble some monsters at 290+ had been magic. I cant remember how many use cloth though.

For pvp, the extra dmg on leather and more accuracy is good.

Sacment > Better in Group of Mobs with +2 aoe ratio

RGP > Hi-End (but not the last like ET things) weapon with highest DMG 2-H spear in this CAP with Cri rate and Critical attack.

about penalty > It doesn’t scale much if your skill damage was already that high. but it very effected with multi-hits skills like RUSH or STABBING.

Overall, I prefer RGP better than Sacmet due to the high critical damage. True Sacmet have a very good pros which are STR +28, Accuracy +20, AoE +2 and that sweet +726 for leather targets but I still feel it isn’t as good as RGP.

However this is personal preferences on PvE. PvP however is another thing in which a lot of players that I’ve seen only used Plates and Leather. The penalty isn’t much of a difference. Perhaps if you are more to PvP, then Sacmet is your go to spear. Socket some gems and maybe it’ll be as good, if not, much better than RGP.

personally i’m gonna wait for RGP, i don’t really like sacment tbh.
The only people who wear leather anyway are the ones i’m gonna 1 shot in pvp with quintain.

Yes. I have 2 practos now. Still farming artilonium to craft paper cube.

I was wondering if using the new one hand spear would be better? Didel Tower shield has 2 slots. And 2 slots from main hand. I think with four red gem with the new upgraded one would be more than enough to cover the damage loss from using a two hand spear.
Only downside is you lose the bonus damage on boss from using two hand spear, transcendent bonus and cost of upgrading the gem.

I think silver is better spent on attribute than on a new 1h spear (considering Practonium will not be cheap/easy to obtain) for damage purpose. I’ll probably get one green gem up to lv 8 and socket it in Lions Head shield.

once you do the lvl 317 quest its all a matter of time honestly.
you are right about attributes though.

Yes, it’s been 3 days since I’ve completed the quest but 315 dg weapons require 2 practoniums so there’ll be another way to get it. It’s like they want us to get one dg 290 equip “for free” so we’re able to do some new/hard content and get the best equip later on.

are the orange weapon actually obtainable by causal players? or are they ET difficulties? Just want to plan ahead to see if I can ever get a chance on those…
