Hey guys, I didn’t played the closed beta. Could you give some advices and evaluate my build?
I aim for a PVE AOE archer.
Thank you all…

Putting your class choices aside, here’s some advices I can give you with my CBT experience (may not be kTOS up-to-date):
For Ranger :
For Sapper :
For Cannoneer :
I just wanted to confirm a lot of what @Faile was saying:
I am also planning to make a cannoneer, and some advice I received from others is: don’t ave 3 AoE classes. Why? Because it’s overkill. Ranger and Cannoneer provide more than enough AoE skills, so there isn’t really any reason to get more AoE traps (unless it’s just something you find fun to do and aren’t going for optimal efficiency. In which case, have at it, more power to you!) Just somethin’ to think about. :3 I will probably end up taking Falconer to supplement my ranger/cannoneer, personally.
I don’t really agree, I think the more aoe you have the best it is pve-wise.
I felt the same until someone pointed out to me that 2 of the Cannoneer AoE skills are on 5 second cooldowns. :0
Nothing wrong with having a broomtrap dealing constant damage while you spam your aoe skills. 5 sec CD is not no CD though like fletcher crossfire arrow.
Also I’m not too sure about your falconner choice, if you take if for circling, be warned that none of your canonner skills nor barrage in ranger needs it.
That’s a fair point–especially if you just lay it down in one section, the move off to another section to do your thang. I would consider alternatively running that build instead of falconer, though having a bird does seem pretty neat. :3
Thanks Faile and Hilsun
I’ll work on something. I think the best way is playing, just theorically building is kind of crazy.
About class choice, I guess you’re saying a Wizz path would do the AoE work.
Anyway, thanks you all. We’ll meet in game!
Agree with everything you’re saying, and just wanted to add a note: Steady Aim effects all Missile damage ( even auto attacks ).
@Hilsun Also another note, since you mentioned the Steady Aim attribute. I levelled the Steady Aim attribute after the update to how the skill works ( + percent damage rather than flat ) and it appears the attribute doesn’t do anything anymore. It still has the description of increasing flat damage, but it doesn’t do that, and I didn’t notice any damage increase at all. Someone should test this out.
@abnerbastos I wouldn’t combine ranger3 with sapper. None of sapper’s skills are considered [Missile], so you won’t get any bonus from Steady Aim. For PvE AoE ranger3 fletcher is a popular choice, since all of Fletcher’s skills get bonus from Steady Aim.
I feel like Sapper is due for some buffs, since ranger/quarrel have seen the love and seem a lot stronger than it now.
I haven’t seen it in action so I have no idea about Fletcher r7. I know Cannoneer is good though.
I was not really talking about wiz, just hinting what zhouyu47 said about ranger and sapper not being optimal together, also sapper is a C3 class and taking it so late would feel a bit underpower.
But in the end it’s your build and I felt as long as you liked it, it was ok.
I’m also interested in a PVE build for Archer but I was wondering is there a point to AOE? Wouldn’t Wizards do a better job for AOE? I’m interested because I am only interested in the classes that use bow. But it seems like the bow classes like Ranger/Fletcher is only good for AOE builds but then it seems like Wizards can do a much better job.
If I want a PVE single target dps it seems like I have to go QS which is sad because i don’t want my to use a gun.
As far as I know, QS buff works regardless the weapon, since musketeers use it for high Atkspeed (musketurret)
An AoE archer likely functions similarly to an AoE wizard–the difference is aesthetic. Which one do you like more stylistically/costume-wise? Play that one. :0 One probably isn’t any better at it than the other in the long run.
So if you make a Quarrel Shooter or Muskteer, you can use all its skills without a gun? Thats probably one of the only reason why I don’t want to be them right now because I don’t want to use a gun. So I can use a bow and use Snipe for example?
What is meant by required Stance. I haven’t played the game yet so I have no idea what stance means in this game. Is it a certain skill that a class inherit?
It makes a pretty big difference if you ask me. :B
Cannon blast without Circling
Cannon blast with Circling
But then again he has all those ranger skills. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hmm I though all canonner skills didn’t have aoe target limit…
(edit: nvm just saw the first canon blast)
So wait a minute, I’m pretty noob about Quarrel Shooter–it looked like that player put down two walls at once, but isn’t there a cooldown on it? :0
im interested in what build she’s using. Seems really good for a solo player to just able to drop some walls to call in aggro then drop on by for some AoE spam to level.
