Pure SPR Archer?

I’m lvl 45 and have A1>A2>A3 and have been going pure SPR to spam as many spells as possible before resting at the bonfire. Is this a viable strat? What other classes do you recommend I go after A3?

Does physical attack factor into spells, or just auto attack?

Pure SPR works for now. Remember, skills scale to other stats too. Just make sure you don’t neglect other stats. In cbt, I found that 50 was the max before you start to really sacrifice damage.

What’s your skill distribution like? Money is going to be sorely needed since your main damage will be from upping attributes.

After A3, you can go any class you want - the usual Ranger 3 or something more? The issue is, what do you want for the last rank?

Sorry I’m new; I don’t see where the ‘categories’ for skills are, ie physical. The tooltips are really minimal. I’m 10 Swift Step 10 Multi Shot 13 Oblique Shot (lvl 30 enhanced). 63 points into SPR I think I’m going to put them into equal parts STR and DEX until I get about 100 in DEX from what I’ve read.

There is a little trick for those who don’t mind micromanagement:
Sit down every 7 seconds to get effective sp regen. It helps to look at the SP bar to see when the tick comes through. That way, quite a few SP potions are spared.

yes, if you do know what you are doing. most SRP archer class choose to be a Fletcher since Fletcher is a class that has so many skill without cooldown.

make sure you do have a plan. I tried that build on CBT2 and was so epicly easy to level up from 1-120… then the problems starts there coz I believe I pick the wrong class. so good luck

it is easy to know if a skill are for SPR just look at the cooldown. (Except the kneeling shoot)

the reason why SPR type is easy for leveling is because you don’t need to buy a decent weapon. oblique shoot is all you need. but when you max that out … that’s the end of it. I believe the max damage of level 15 obliques without attribute is 446. <— that damage is equivalent to a rank 5 weapons. so imagine you are a rank 3 archer killing a rank 3 monsters lol.

but when you get rank 7 obliques will be useless unless you max out the attribute to make the damage doubled. at rank 7 weapon average damage was around 600. so your 446 damage is pathetic.

so make sure you plan ahead … fletcher is most pick by SPR type.

how does STR effect the damage of Oblique Shot? % based?

The short version is, STR increase your patk and crit atk.
Total damage = patk + skill dmg
If crit, total damage * 1.5 + crit atk.

it adds up after the damage of your oblique. but oblique damage is always higher than any weapon on current rank so STR and weapon doesn’t matter.

ei:
Rank 1 lvl5 Oblique = 201
weapon at rank 1 has max damage of 42. (so why do you even need STR then? any monster you hit with oblique at rank 1 is dead in 1 or 2 shoot)

A fully maxed out Oblique Shot (skill and attribute levels) will give you around 1.2k to 2+k depending on what weapon and, marginally, STR points. STR points can make a difference of hundreds to just a few tens. Be warned that it’ll take roughly 10 mil in total.

Categories for skills are mainly just common sense. It’s not written for you, although the small details may have hints to it. Anything that uses an object to hit is physical, anything else will most likely be magical.

As to the SP regen trick, I’ve been counting to 10…oops? >.<
