Priest stat advice needed

I’ve been building a buffing healing meleeing priest, and I’m really confused as to where to put my stats. Some people say strength and dex, other people say spr and int, and I’m confused. There’s not enough stat points to spread around, and I can’t find much information to decide for myself.

Here’s what I’m wondering about.
Str: Worth it, or should I let my blessing do the work?
Dex: How much do I need to reliably hit my opponent? What crit chance should you expect?
Con: Ignore, put some points? HP regen seems to go so slowly it wouldn’t be worth investing in, most boss damage can be avoided, and I can heal myself anyway.
Spr: The intervals between healing ticks seems very low, so I think I need a lot for it to be really effecitve, but most of the time, if I’m frugal with my abilities, I don’t run out of mana that fast and potions aren’t too expensive (even though I need silver for everything). I have no idea what skills are affected by it too.
Int: I don’t think any of my skills use Mattack, and at one point per int, I’m not sure it’s worth it to heavily invest in it. Again, I don’t really know what abilities are affected by it.

Thanks in advance for your time and advice.

I recommend putting some points into that, it should be your least/second least raised stts, depends on you.

None. Dex won’t affect your accuracy. Critin or not is up to you, I don’t think it’s a smart choice to put some dex points since you aren’t a DPS, and any damage you deal isn’t big anyways, don’t go for big numbers.

CON makes sure you’re alive, as a healer, if you die, your team dies. I really encourage to have this as a secondary status point, followed by SPR first.

Only heal and cure are affected by it. Unless you’re here for the damage, don’t invest in int.
http://pastebin.com/1wF5DUNz Check by yourself which skills scale with what.

If your building a support type priest put everything into SPR and then some to CON afterwards, you don’t really get to use int that much.

SPR scales with most of your skills like deprotection zone, monstrance, mass heal, stone skin etc. The maximum SP and SP regen are just a bonus (spr also increases m,def). My dmg was only around 70 but since I have a high SPR using d-protect and monstrance buffed it up to 300~450 per hit (increases over time if I’m wearing a sword with the d-protect sword attribute).

If your building a hitter priest aka a monk, don’t really have much experience but here’s a cool thread about it [Video] Path to Crit Monk (Cleric1 Priest3) - Leveling Part 1

Thanks for your response.

So the accuracy stat doesn’t do anything?

it actually does but I only miss like twice in thirty attacks, maybe, and I never raised my dex xD. Sorry I didn’t ellaborate enough on that, really vague :octopus:

Lots of good advice from @Wurmheart here.

finally saw a thread with good discussion in support cleric. if your going for melee cleric, should you use shield + mace or shield + 1 hand sword or 2 hand sword?

Might as well do a run down on cleric weapons in general.
clerics can’t use two handed swords, not yet at least. We can use rods, hammers, 1h swords, shields, daggers and a shovel though.

  • Rods are only good for int builds for clerics. Should have the highest magic dmg for us. Crappy auto atk dmg.
  • Hammers are a bit of both worlds, works excellent for any build.
  • Swords solely have physical dmg, and usually a bit higher then hammers. Better with deprotected zone attribute.
  • Shields give a good amount of defense tbh, and the bonus block is low but a nice bonus. Doesn’t have a c button use for us.
  • Daggers offer their own attack with the c button. Due to daggers being often piercing damage it can be good to carry one around for weak to piercing enemies. Does not improve auto atk damage on it’s own. Need to do more testing on +poison dmg daggers and interaction with physical dmg skills.
  • Shovel is a icoin item that lets you dig up dirt/weeds and maybe more after a lengthy cool down. I have no idea what use there is for that tbh.

And technically we do get weapon swaps but usually you have 1 weapon that’s better then all the rest. So stick with that, assuming the damage type is good for you.
Otherwise rod + dagger or hammer + shield is good for casters.
And sword/hammer with shield or dagger for anything else really.

STR - Physical offense (Do you need to hit / kill something with your physical attack?)
CON - Max HP and scale with your HP in heal
DEX - Physical accuracy, physical critical rate, evasion (Do you need to hit / kill something with your physical attack?)
INT - Magic offence, plus it includes Heal (scale for both attacking enemy and recovering your HP), Cure (scale for attacking enemy), Mass Heal (scale for recovering your HP).
SPR - Buff effectiveness, plus it includes Mass Heal (scale for recovering your HP)
