Preliminary beginners guide to Clerics

Yeah I guess the difference is that I prefer effects that are always on. Occasionally dievderby will get really strong bursts in power like when carve owl is used, or when enemies are slowed down… and then later down the road 18 seconds of invulnerability which is obviously great.

But then owls are on cooldown for 90(72) seconds and you have nothing to show for 3 ranks investment. Sacrament blessing always up. 100% uptime. Stoneskin cd 60s, mass heal 30s. Rez & revive option. Great synergy with energy beam which hits 3x per second. That’s literally 630 extra dps.

On the other hand. Who else will take diev3? Pure support won’t. Chaplains won’t. Paladin can’t unless you do something really weird. Not a single build in the OP recommends diev3. You’ll definitely be valuable to your group with that 18s invuln.

I’d just like to say, from the recent carve change, the hit counter is now 5 consecutive hits.

That’s awesome, thanks!!
@nojustnotos I’ll share my build in a sec so you can see how it works

there you go. And nope, I don’t go Cleric c2, don’t think its good for this build.

Very strong. I take it back then about carve being worse than double punch. Kind of ridiculous that a rank 3 attack is so much stronger than rank 5, but that’s IMC for ya. Thanks for the vid.

Looks good. Here was my planned monk build:

Now I have some things to consider though.

I’m trying to do a DPS cleric, with Druid.

Cleric C2>Krivis C2>Diev>Druid>PD
or
Cleric C2>Krivis C2>Diev>Druid C2

The only difference is Druid C2 or PD at Rank 7.

And I know about all the Cleric C2 thing, but like TRUE dps, if I really want to skip Cleric C2, what should be the best option to replace do do more dps??? More Diev for owls?
Saduh is not a option.

What do you think??

Last question: For solo purpose, what is best for dps/survivability? Monk or a spellcaster?

Thank You

Yes if you are looking to do damage with Diev you should at least get circle 2 for owl.

Carve is a physical attack and you are going krivis c2 and druid you are going to stacking int, so carve will not be an effective DPS tool.

Druid + PD will likely do more damage than Druid c2. You want Druid c2 for the protection skill.

I would not recommend going monk with an INT build. Overall with an INT build you can get more in CON, since you don’t need to split your stats between STR and DEX to deal good damage.

Clerics are never “true dps”, our hit limits and lower base is something you cannot build around atm.
But aside of that, krivis3 or dievdirby2 would work. Or pardoner if you picked plague doctor and don’t plan on going plague doctor circle 3.

Otherwise the builds are fine, but you forgot diev skill points in one.
Ps, bloodletting is a really good option atm.

Monks have the worst defenses out of all cleric classes tbh. Though some krivis/bokor spellcasters aren’t much better. Depends a lot on the type of spellcaster cleric build.

Also depends on if it’s a pvp or pve build.

Oh, i know that! What I meant to ask is if a monk build is better than a spellcaster build for solo purpose.

Actually my main build is a support, but I wanna try this “dps cleric” sometime. But the thing is, I dont want to rely on incineration, so I’m chasing some alternative that i may like. I don’t like saduh and bokor (maybe if the zombie were better), I don’t know if monks are actually good and I kind of like INT builds. So this is what i came up with. DRUIDS.

I played Monk in iCBT2 and it was fun to play and you can definitely solo with it. A lot of large monsters are weak to strike damage, so your double punch does well, especially when combined with armor break from hand knife.

I can’t really comment on the solo-ability of INT based builds, but with Chaplain in the mix it seems like an option is there.

So can some1 confirm whats is better way to build up monk pve wise for solo grind and dungeons cleric-priest-diev2-monk or cleric2-priest2-monk? thanx in advance.

Any advices about stat distribute for Cleric2 - Prist3 - Chap1 - PD1 for PvE?

I’am thinking about something like this: CON - 1, INT - 4, SPR - 2.

Or maybe u give me a link for an appropriate forum topic? Thanks!

Int/Spr are your best options, and the ratio is entirely up to you.
Int provides more dmg and healing , but spr still deals decent dmg and boosts stone skin and other (de)buffs.
(The con is a bit low though.)

And in general stat ratios aren’t set in stone just yet.
We need more testing, the proper crit formula and some hands on experience with r7 and the hidden classes first to determine those.

@cressonline The latter, you need cleric2 imo. Or at least get cleric/priest3 though it might not have enough healing.

Check out my take on semidps/support Cleric:

It works in PVP offensively and defensively.

Damage comes from Cure, Owl Statue, Carnivory, and Incineration

I’ve noticed most of your spell casters won’t receive any damage skills until Rank 3. How do you propose to level when going from Cleric C1 to Cleric C2?

Take krivis at c2 if possible, otherwise just slog through it.

Clerics don’t lvl as smoothly as other classes, a lot of builds can’t go around it.

Oh right, Krivis has a pretty solid offensive skill. Thanks for the input! And I do hope leveling a Cleric isn’t as difficult as solo leveling as an acolyte back in Ragnarok >_<

Did you try cleric on OBT?
I lvled C1 and C2 and this was so damn easy, just boring, but easy.
Heal, Cure, Autoattacks
Its fine for leveling
