Preliminary beginners guide to Clerics

There’s no “Cleric General thread” so I’m going to post and ask here.

I currently have a second cleric, lvl 75 Krivis that I’m planning to get circle 3 on. My plan was to go Cleric2 > Krivis3 > Druid2 > Taoist1 OR Cleric2 > Krivis3 > Priest > PD > Taoist. Right now my stat is full INT.

My question is, should I bother going INT dps build (Druid>Taoist)? What about the MATK problem that plagues elememe so much in lategame content? (I assume that’s gonna be a problem for INT/dps clerics as well?)

Or does anyone have a good Krivis alternative?

Thanks~

You could just start your own thread so that it would be easier for people who have the similar question to find answers using the search function :stuck_out_tongue:

You also need to make up for it by getting very high magic attack. Another alternative for Krivis3 would be to take Druid 3, which has less of the magic defense problem since they double magic attack and they can use physical attacks through Lycanthropy.

However, when your magic attack is a lot higher than the enemy’s, Taoist’s Zaibas would be a lot stronger than a Druid3’s

Not sure if i have messed up my build but i went Cleric C1 > Priest C2 > Pally C2

My Plans are to go one of the three following builds
Cleric C2 > Priest C2 > Pally C3 > Inq C1
Cleric C1 > Priest C3 > Pally C3 > Inq C1
Cleric C1 > Priest C2 > Pally C3 > PD C1 > Inq C1

Not sure how much i will be gimping myself for PvE content by not taking PD at my 7th circle or on the other hand how much i may struggle to heal with Priest C2 Cleric C1 Plague doctor C1. I do have elemental resist as a pally and the priest heal is % based which scales better than cleric heals though the loss of tiles are my main concern.

Do i have options here or is Cleric C2 > Priest C1 > Pally C3 > PD C1 > Inq C1 the only viable path?

PD isn’t required for that build to work. Best out of those 3 is the one with Cleric 2.

Would you say that going PD over C2 Cleric would remove my chances of doing high level group content? I am interested in PD’s ability to solo with healing factor.

Yes I would. Your heals are just going to be too weak

Hi everyone! Just wanted to use this as a venue to ask a question that has been bugging me for quite a while now. So I’m currently building towards a C2>P1>Pal3>M1>Inq build (about to progress to Rank 6 now), and have 5* red-gemmed Five Hammer (all 5 slots), and a gemmed Arde Dagger.

Happy with the build so far, but I’ve also gotten really curious about Int-based Chaplains, especially the ones featured here (i.e. C2>P3>Chap>PD2 and C2>P3>Chap>Miko>Inq). Now before I spend on tokens to transfer my stuff into a new toon, I hope you can indulge me with some thoughts on the following questions:

  1. At R8, will any of these Int Chaplains do better than the Pally>Monk>Inq in terms of DPS in end-game content?

  2. At this point, is it worth the trouble creating a new toon (and using token for item transfer) to try out an Int Chaplain, or would you rather recommend I continue on with my Pally-Inq? (I’m really gunning for one that would help me experience R8 content most).

Thanks a bunch!

Probably not. If they can, then it’d probably be the PD version after the mdef nerf, but just because PDs are pretty strong on their own

The Chap-Miko-Inq will help you experience R8 content more than the Pal-Monk-Inq, not as a DPS – but as a melee-support / kriv-diev backup

Sounds like I’m better off focusing on my Pal-Inq then. Btw, the Chap-Miko-Inq is Int-based (just making sure you got the right idea since you mentioned melee-support).

By “melee-support” I meant support for melee. As in laying your Breaking Wheel down and then Kagura Dancing to multiply your melee allies’ damage

Has anyone done this? What would be the good build? 1:1? 7:3 INT DEX?

Does anyone know if 24-26 blocks from Safety Zone are enough?
I’m going to skillreset tomorrow and maybe drain some points from Safety Zone to put them into Divine Might(raise from 5 - > 8/9[including Corylus Gem]).
Currently running with 30 blocks and my Safety Zone was never penetrated so far…

At release I played a diev monk to ~210 and now I wanted to give the game another try… again with a cleric, again with diev.

As I’m reading and reading and reading… trying to come up with something that might work endgame (pve only) I feel like asking for some advice as there seems to be no answer anywhere.

The basic setup seems clear:

Cleric 2 > Diev 3 > ? > ?

I wanted to focus on int and have some “positive” circles (so I like what the char is doing from an RP perspective) but what can you put there?

Miko and Druid2 ?
Miko - Druid - Inquisitor?
Druid 3 is the “standard” it appears but I don’t know whether I want to be a big werewolf…

Any thoughts are highly appreciated.

Thank you.

C2-D3-Miko-PD2

You can’t go wrong with it. Miko (or gender-bend it to Kannushi) will be your additional support and DPS circle. Your Diev statues will provide the debuff(s) to trigger/further increase the duration of your Incinerate. Wear an Agny necklace; all you’ll be doing is win, win, win no matter what~ :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you

All of my clerics are surviving with level 1 Safety Zone.
I’ve dumped the points from there into Fade, as I found that to be more useful than more Safety Zone blocks.

Ditto! So long as you’re at least Cleric C2, Lv1 Safety Zone + the additional Block attribute is more than enough.

Good to know. If I ever get the urge to play again I’ll put my last skill point into Divine Might, too then

Hi, i have a priest c3… i got 15 blessing 3 revive 5 ressurection,5 stone skin (im full spr) and i dont know what to do with the other points, should i max max heal?? since i’m full spr, is worth invest points on monstrance to combo with desprotected zone??? i’m fs… c2 priest c3 oracle c2

Something like this should be fine (disregard the C1-C2 choices as they are mine). http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/fqmwpuz3m7/

You can also go Lv9 Mass Heal and Lv9 Revive since you have Divine Might anyway. I’m personally using Lv10 MH and Lv7 Revive in my INT built P3-Chap.

Lv1 Monstance is optimal. Any level higher increases the time you’re stuck in its casting animation (I’ve used Lv5 Monstrance before and it’s annoying AF).
