Potion Prices / Opinions

Heyas everyone!

Just wanted to start a discussion on potion prices for the game. I’m a Lv. 21 Wizard II, and I feel as though a majority of my income (usually around 3-4000 silver per outing) gets used up on potions, and I never have enough to do anything else around the town, i.e. equipment. Seeing as SP potions are a major part of playing a Wizard class (if there’s someone out there managing their SP effectively without long periods of downtime, please speak up) and the prices at the moment make it difficult to stay stocked up on them.

iirc it was 220 for the small SP potions and a good 480 for the next highest (someone help me out if that’s incorrect). Maybe we could see the prices being halved or put at 75% just so that we can either get more bang with our buck and/or don’t use up everything we earn just so we’re not sitting around for minutes on end waiting for SP.

Thoughts?

100 for small and 300-350 for big should be enough, just my opinion though since every boss gives us reasonable amount of silver when we kill them especially when we solo

It doesn’t hugely matter if you use all your income at the moment on potions, since as you level up, you gain more money from monsters anyways. I imagine 1 hour of grind at level 200 or something would pay back your entire potions cost up till that point.

Maybe once people reach Alchemist you’ll be able to buy cheaper ones from the auction house?

Nope! Farm in the semi boss (semi big onion monster at the map with where you save a hostage near mine). The monster drop silver + 1 sure drop gear. they spawn 2-3x per minute, if you have a party, you dont need to use spells, just Z and boom.

Prices are fair, it’s ok.

Not sure about prices, but at the end, two small sp potions gives more mana back than the next tier potion. Also, the two small potions are cheaper, so only thing we could invest on high tiers is due you need a higher mp recovery on certain moment.

Since potions recovers on 15sec, small potions (35 seconds cooldown) can be used effectively again after 20 sec you have used one and next tier potions have a 45 second cooldown.

I don’t think its worth to use other than small potions unless you need a high amount mp on 1 skill and the tic recovery from small isn’t enough. Best solution on my opinion should be make higher tiers a bit cheaper.

being an alchemist basically makes you free of any silver currency worries XD

Mobs should have a small chance to drop potion too.

I used the cheapest potion until level 60 and never felt the need to buy the other one until then. Your SP pool is not that big to need the burst recovery.

You just need to use a little more your auto attacks when you are not grouping monsters, and maybe raise a little your SPR (at level 60 I have 33 SPR and 75 INT).

Use Energy Bolt only with 4~5 monsters close, Earthquacke is not that great for farming, since it scatter mobs.
Which class did you get as Rank 2?

I found that relying on the Z-Attack for normal mobs left me open for attacking in more crowded areas such as the mines. I used Energy Bolt only when I knew I could hit 2-3 mobs most of the time.

I went Wizard II at class advancement so that I could get Surecast, as it looks like I’ll be needing it for Necromancer later on @ .@;

While that’s definitely a good endgame goal (especially for those entrepreneurs out there), I don’t think it erases the need for potions and using the NPC vendors :x

A little planning ahead and prepping my gear has made it so that I don’t have to buy potions often. I also rely mainly on my auto-attack. So, I’m alright with it so far, but I’d love for them to be cheaper. I imagine that’ll begin to make a dent when I start on my elementalist, though.

Yeah, you most likely need to jump attack to be safe, or dash canceling, but the later only works if you don’t have lag at all.

[/quote] But Necro doesn’t have skills with cast time. Flash Cannon has tile target, but with mouse you cast it in 0,5s.
Sure Spell is meant for classes like Elementalist, with spells that need 3~5 seconds fully casted.

I am not completely sure it will be useless, tho. Too few people reach Rank 6 on betas to test, sadly.
