The removal of the regional pricing was likely done in order to curb those groups, or at least with that as one of the main reasons. If it ends up having some effect, it will be exactly because there was no warning.
if they bought those packs the legit way then IMC gets money from them
game is going free to play anyway but founders pack has some free goodies that makes you want to buy it.
if they bought it using stolen credit card or a fraud purchase then they really dont get anything and most likely the packs will get revoked.
it really doesnt hurt the gold sellers much but really hurts those legit players that got their price increase by 2x or 3x.
Those goodies - tokens, especially - are likely the exact reason why even bots and gold sellers would want them. Mostly for resale rather that actual use, i would guess.
And it doesn’t matter if they bought them legit, because the end result is that we still end up with a ton of bots and gold sellers. Mainly because they ended up being extremely cheap for outsiders due to the regional pricing.
Now that they can’t exploit the pricing anymore, it will put a dent in their profits. And being unable to profit is the only thing that would actually stop gold sellers.
i cant say something about the region lock from founders pack but in early access if you purchase ToS on SEA then you can only play on SEA for the rest of the early access. so you need to use VPN to be able to play it.
if they are gonna sell it because it is cheap then the buy should be within the region unless the person buying doesn’t mind using VPN for the rest of his/her gameplay in ToS
