Please stop the chat filter from deleting entire messages!

Just to show you exactly how stupid this filter is. We can’t even LINK ITEMS without them being censored. Nor can we say the names of items or monsters because the chat filter will delete our message.

I mean, you have pictures like this: http://imgur.com/GlGbXOJ

With women dressed in clothing I’ve heard others go as far as to call “slutty” and yet we can’t say “ass” or “butt” without it being censored? So by extension, many valid words in the english language are blocked making it extremely difficult to communicate properly, since it will delete the ENTIRE MESSAGE instead of just censoring the perceived dirty word.

Hello Saviors. Thanks for letting us know about this. I understand that it can be a hassle when it comes to typing down messages, but i think the devs got a little paranoid with how they implemented the chat filter. I’ll make sure that this gets to them as soon as possible. :slight_smile:

Lol you can’t say boob but some of the female characters breasts are so unrealistically big that they look like they’re going to pop right out of their top.

One of my favorite hats is the Peacock Feather, but of course you can’t say “cock” so you can’t even link the item.

I have no issues with having words censored out, even if they’re part of another word, just PLEASE stop the system from removing the entire message. Please.

I do have issue, Can’t name my team “Raccoon Team” because of the word “Coon” is contained on the word “Raccoon”.

fun fact and out of joke, if you copy and paste the message in-game it does goes full and only sensor the ass part… just like we wanted :smiley:

Yes it randomly only censors parts of certain messages and the entire messages for other ones. No idea why.

The filter is, as people called it, absolutely terrible; I’ve had to talk to my friends using ‘3rd party’ systems such as steam or facebook because we all got sick of having to retype entire lines trying to find what word the filter is throwing a fit about now.
Although we found it amusing that it blocks “ass” but not “arse”

I absolutely agree with you. Deleting entire messages is so extreme and is definitely a bug. I humor myself by reading some of the messages the way the chat reads it. SPICy chicken sandwich is my favorite.

The only reason I think they do this is to be able to keep the ‘T’ rating, right? That’s why I think they left the chat filtering as poor as it is. I mean they have a WHOLE game to keep making, no sarcasm, they have a lot to refine. Just have to get used to typing spaces in your messages (Cla ss etc.)

I also recommend they add the ability to press ‘up’ while in the chat window to access recently sent messages. A lot of games I’ve played have had this feature. It would make it easy to fix whatever made the chat filter freak out. Much less frustrating and could be saved client side for the sake of server stress.

multiplayer/online experience is never (and cannot be) rated. Only dialogs, animations, effects, sounds and other actual game content.

Except you can’t scroll the chat from side to side with the arrows keys. So if your message is too long you can’t see where your cursor is =p

At least it does not sends the message “I will wash your mouth with soap.” when saying a “bad word”.

I never noticed that so they should fix that too. I actually couldn’t manage to make it delete anything before the beginning of the chatbox. Seems like they just won’t physically let you go far enough back and it’s not just hiding your cursor.
