world boss grinding, normal grinding …all in there …just like the old maplestory
Only people with no life and bot enjoy grinding.
You can grind all you want and will be pissed after someone introduce bottling into the game.v
Then do not play this kind of games. IMC team are not going to change the mechanics of the game at this point. You are in good time to leave this, and use your time in something else or play another game, because Tree of Savior, it is simply, not for you.
Yea, if they are going to keep this grinding I am not going play this game. Same as majority of people who have already left the beta.
Yea lol, let this people who want mindless grinding play with tons of bots/hackers/exploiters instead rofl.
grinding is fine as long as they will put some premium/exp boost in their cash shop (because im not young anymore and have wife and children and job so i cant grind 20hours a day anymore like i used to be)
something like exp x2
exp x3
and etc
i wish they removed quest and had more grinding, i am bored during pointless quests. Some dungeons have nice events thou which they should just replace every quest in the game with.
the level 70 wall is my favourite part really. cuz that’s the time I got out of the main quest, roam around, found hidden quests, explore maps, etc.
I didn’t grind for exp so far. and I’m lvl 93. I did grind for item drop though.
maybe you missed some maps. cuz there are lvl 69 - 92 maps that are not related to the main quests. (they are soo far and yet soo near :3)
maybe there is a wall at lvl 130. But all good games have walls to climb. (so does life) In this game level’s aren’t much of a problem. cuz 1 lvl=1 stat. 10 lvl difference meaning 10 stat difference. so you really don’t need to be high level to beat monsters. If the boss/monsters is too hard for you find a party.
My suggestion is… don’t aim for level… aim for finishing quests that are higher lvl than you. your leveling up will follow
the only thing that bothered me is the lvl requirement for quest and the lack of non quests events.
Any RO players remember Blue orc mobbing in clock tower?
Wiz and Vit Priest running round and round and Storm gust for hours.
Grinding, Instances are just part and parcel of MMO if you’re too tired of linear storyline
that leads you in a standard path.
Live with it, if not you’re just not suitable for MMORPG.
Even console RPG like Final Fantasy have grinding that you need to do in order to attempt optional bosses
and when you achieve it, you can simply kill the actual linear story boss with 1 hit.
Starting from RO, Cabal, MapleStory to being a hardcore raider in WOW
Frankly i dont see much differences, just grinding in different form.
Cheers! Enjoy ToS, it does bring some good memories back
Some grinding is always fine and fun.
Without grinding, this game becomes just a 2.5 D WoW-Clone.
The problem is: 1 chanel in grinding zones and the lack of mobs, in tenet chapel we have TONS of mobs and 10 chanels, later in other maps we have like run>2-3mobs>run run run run run>2mobs> run run run run run run> 5 mobs (OMG)>run>quit game. it sucks.
Well there is already a system in place that creates a new channel if the first one is full, at least i experienced it once. Another thing is you forgot this is a beta and its running now about 2 weeks, everyone started at the same time, so most people are the same level and unfortunatly have to grind on the same map. This might be a problem in the first 1 or 2 months, but my guess would be after that time many players quit the game, are in other level areas and the players should be spread more evenly around the whole tree of savior world. To be honest, i barely had problems with grinding, you just have to use your adventrue journal and check if the maps you visited have 95% or more completion. I reached sometimes grinding gaps, but without the hard part you cant be happy about the easier parts. They got rid from a great problem in Ragnarok, back then when grinding from lvl 99 to lvl 100 took you days or weeks depending on your gametime, and dieing costs you 1% which is like hours of grinding for nothing. While in Tree of Savior this is the first mmorpg, which gives me a real satisfaction about leveling and grinding, with harder and easier parts, this keeps you motivated. A great and innovative game design decicion
i know that they create a new chanel if one is full, but even if its “white” the lack of mobs is real
dude, you better never ever play hack’n’slash games lol!
and,… what grind? LOL this is actually NOTHING, i can’t understand how people can cry about that … i remember were people have to grind MONTHS in ragnarok for a lvl up, it was crazy,… weeks and weeks for just that few %… and if you die (u will die eventually) you would lose 1%… doesn’t sound much but it was HUGE, speaking of 00-range exp (maybe even lower? lolz)
go and play a real grind game and THEN you can complain :3
They never promise that this game will be grinding game or RO2.
It is not wrong to complain about it until they state clearly about direction of this game.
So, let me see: there are people saying that is fun to keep killing mobs for hours just to level up once? With no point, just killing TONS of random and easy mobs?
This is not fun, this is boring and this is why bots appear. A lot of people dont like to kill 1000 mobs to gain a level.
This is not a facebook game. The grinding is ok, and its actually fun, it will teach what the limits of your character are,
I hope they will reduce the exp, so this game wont take 3 days to get to 100.
About the RO 1% death penalty… I come from a MMO which applies 2-10% EXP loss based on the level (which can be like 3 hours or even days of gameplay) plus item/equipment loss chance plus things you need to pay (around ~100k).
I really miss the fear of dying but in ToS I just rush into everything. There’s no real death penalty on it xD
I honestly think that is not “grinding” that is the problem, but the way the grinding is made. Low density, little choice as to were to go, no bonus killing higher level (enemy exp rate scales little to nothing), penalty killing lower level, you “need” to level up to get to the class you want. If i want to dualwield i NEED to get to lvl 120. Can’t grind while farming for something because you buy what you need and better things are dropped by stronger monsters. Having to go back every 30min because repairs.
All of this makes it really tedious.
agreed arkraven. . . . . . . … .
