Please don't listen to the casual players

was more into tibia no idea Why… and rune never got my attention.

Just curious. Anywho yes in F2P games there will be those class of players that spend way too money on the game, but the main source of revenue will always be the ‘middle-class’ because there are more of them per capita.

Hi~ Sensei here~ , some may remember from CBT.

Ahem~

My personal take on the whole grind , personally I don’t mind it, it allows for people to work together and bond, that for me is the most important. Making friends and all, who you can hang out with and enjoy the game together.

For me the game gives me a sense of adventure finding the stories, experimenting with the classes, finding that secret class and working towards it. Accidentally stumbling into a high level dungeon dying and vowing revenge on them , then come back stronger or with more people and finally beating the boss inside.

Grinding for me was a means to an end, personally I wouldn’t mind the rate being higher or better yet scaled better. But I don’t want people to whoosh by their levels so fast that they don’t even bother to explore and learn the game and its lore, or worse, they just don’t read at all =_=

Weather this makes me a casual , sure why not. But I’d like there to be some balance between , leveling and progressing.

Thanks for your input velvet… and yeah some people forget the social aspect of the game…

If the rates change or stay the same it’s really fine with me. I got to 81 by mostly soloing(did a little partying it is faster) I’m pretty sure they will up things a bit to align more with Korean TOS. The jackpot mobs in this game make the grind bearable. It reminds me of a really old mmorpg I used to play called Sho Online. Which used the same system. However there was no flashing mobs it was just pure chance to hit that jackpot.

What about subscription fee money per month? Or Paytowin? It’s really depends how the game pay method is designed and I always see active players buying stuff in most MMO games…

be that as it may, I don’t think this is the proper thread for issues with the whole pay system.

Eve Online (among other games) prove that niche is viable way to go. When you try to appeal to everyone you create the next big generic MMO that will probably just die away when something new comes out and grab the attention of the said “casual players”. Ragnarok Online 2 is a great example of what I’m trying to say.

If I could talk for fellow casuals and people who have a work and social life - the Exp rate is okay. I think the top players should be the most dedicated ones who are basically hikikomori… they deserve some appreciation too.

Thats because you always see the active players, for sub games there many people that keep their sub even if they aren’t playing a ton every week. You think only active people buy the most because they are the people you always see, just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t spending money. I mean meet lot of people in f2p games that spends hundreds a month but play very little due to their jobs but they are like some of the richest people in the game because they can just use cash shop to get w/e the they need.

If you good look at sub game its the same thing, like most of them aren’t playing a ton due to real life but because most people with a job 15 dollar or so a month isn’t a big deal so they keep their sub so they can play when they want to.

No buying purely cosmetic stuff doesn’t make you a whale because there pretty low hard cap on amount of stuff your going to buy because you run out of stuff to buy. Like LoL your going to get all champs and skill with in few thousand dollars thats literaly nothing, I know poeple that spend that much in 1 month in p2w games those are whales, the people that throws thousands to tens of thousands every month what your talking about in LoL doesn’t remotely come close to what a real whale spends.

Sadly that is not true for P2W games, whale is a real term used by these people that make mmorpgs and lot of games are aimed at whales to make a quick buck, so the real money source in lot of p2w games are whales not the “middle-class” its not a good long term bussiness model and its very destructive model but let you make some quick money

To be honest i prefer low rate exp. Like old Games… The casual just want to play 1 or 2 days and get max level. They don’t know anything about this kind of game.

Casuals will ruin this game. I see it coming now…

Quality brand elitism everywhere in MMO. This is no exception. Disgusting.

Talk about “old game” grind? Just take MU online. That brain numbing grinding. Or Maple Story.

@bardo_4_ever
Anyway, grinding should never be like the “old games”. If you want grinding, don’t make it so that a robot can just do it easier than a human. I hate grinding from RO because it was so easy to just make a robot do it. You don’t need to think. You still think that “old game” grinding was so cool?

I hope the crux of your argument is not based on a South Park episode.

I bet most of the people who plays pay to win games…Pay mostly no matter are they casual or hardcore gamers. You can save a lot of grinding time buying very cheap stuff that everyone can afford it. Ro1 renewal is good example… If u buy one cheap costume with few dollars… In game currency you can sell it with High price even if it does not give any stat…

No the so call “Hard Core” players will ruin the game because the game can’t live w/o casual player base consider they consister of 90%+ of the server population. Have fun playing on a dead game because all the player got scared away.

Children please, calm down, form a line…there will be enough fat snacks for everyone. Your first world problems about a game will be handled in accordance of “F’s” given. Jeeze people, games are a form of recreation. Get anal over something important.

Then why don’t you go solve world hunger or world peace or something instead of being here.

Why are we talking about this again and again? The staff already stated their position and why some things are the way they are.
