Please don't listen to the casual players

Well chat is not the only interaction you can do to socialize. Is important but not the only option.

Because what you suggest wasn’t just more quests overall, it’s repeatable quests (be it daily, hourly, infinitely, whatever) and THAT compels people to do the same thing over and over (and in this case, actually hurt themselves compare to just pure grinding, if the number you suggested is taken as the model)

And interact with NPC more? I’m not sure just mashing the space button to quickly re-grab the quest and then go back to grinding is really the same interact you suggest.
I can assure you most people don’t even remember NPC names, just the spot they occupies.

It’s additional ‘features’ sure, but it’s not really ‘a way to play it another way’, it’s still the same grinding, but now even more limited to what quests are available + actually less rewarding than not taking the quest to begin with.

Why would it compel you? You want 9600 exp from finding an NPC over 12000 exp of non-stop killing monsters in an area? How would it hurt more? Please elaborate on that.

I’m just giving ideas for an interactive world because people are fighting over exp rates and some people are complaining that the grind is boring. Why not create more interactive stuff? If you read, I was also suggesting other than killing quests. I fail to see how any of that can “hurt” the game.

Because you don’t need a quest giving you orders.

Maybe should be more fun a class with a skill that can open special maps, caves, etc… to find new npc’s, monsters, etc…

Like a real explorer that can guide throgh the unknow.

Why limit it to just one class?

I wish I still had as much optimism as you did in regards to the MMO scene.

Bots killed Ragnarok? Not on EuRo Loki - we had a specilized GM team for bot Hunting - no bot survived i still remember the guild with a pikachu logo “gottacatchemall”

Such dedication is really rare and hard to achieve now.

Can work, but that skill makes you special and every class should have one (but not the same) or whatever.

That’s the artistic way, hard and inefficient but if IMC hire people to do the police i would be glad.

The only thing I can see in this thread is another case of “casuals” vs. “hardcore” when it’s really just a group of people deciding to be rude to other people for the sake of “keeping the game good.”

Keep up the pointless fighting.

Looks like it’s more complicated to implement than just having quests… but it’s still a suggestion.

If they don’t do that kind of things, this game will be done as many others except for really hardcore fans.

I don’t really understand but is it “if they don’t do these kinds of things, the game will be just like other games”?

I’m not really a fan of putting skills in classes just for quest-like interactions but if it can be used by all classes, then it’s worth a shot. Will you waste skill points for it or is it obtainable elsewhere?

Maybe by a tutorial quest based on how to use this skill? And the skill could have a mini-game, i don’t know.

I feel like this thread has become just a bunch of people trying to get their forum count up…

Well, I genuinely want convert this debate to a productive brainstorming of ideas and not just justifying siding with anything.

Casuals must suffer. Kappa

Thats not so true any more when you consider the cost of development and maintance of mmorpgs now day are way too high for fans to keep a game alive any more. Speically if you consider RO is much cheaper to maintain, developed its own huge fan base while ToS here is relying on what remains of the RO fan base and even then its only a portion of it while the game cost way more to develop and maintain.

Ofc if the games does well it will generate its own fan base and stay alive, but going by the assumption that it will stay alive due to its current fan base from a portion of remaining RO fan is silly.

Nope I just wanted to post that to see if people jumped to conclusions. I guess nobody really took into consideration that someone could leave the game logged in while they sleep overnight. That’s why I don’t think hours played on steam is a very good metric

Ya horrible metric lol coz so many people afks XD
