It’s like 1 plus 1 equals 2. It will always be 2 regardless of how much you protest it to be 5. When someone is caught doing illegal stuff, the next course of action is sanction/punishment.

well the bot problems and everything in between kinda set up the atmosphere for RMT to thrive. why? strict trade restriction market BS has made some players take down their items from market and can increase its actual price thus making it hard to find what you need.

you can lessen the impact of RMT by releasing premium items for sale that can be bought as an alternative to RMT. Since the token has already set up its own price, why not sell an item chest containing silver? The people saying you and your family should kill themselves should be banned aswell. And those who make real life threats could be reported to the police.
However, just because what they did is worse it does not make what you less any less rule-breaking. Making real-life threats or harrassing is just as rule-breaking as RMTing.
If “X is worse than Y, therefore Y is acceptable” was a valid conclusion then i guess, with your logic, since murder is worse than stealing, stealing is therefore allowed. That however is not how rules and laws work. Just because one crime is worse than the other it does not mean that the person doing the lesser crime should go unpunished or that the rules do not apply.
If your logic applied people would be allowed do a lot worse. Just imagine: “This person threatened to kill me. I only threatened to rape her. Since killing is worse than rape, i should go unpunished”.
“The other person said my family and i should kill ourselves. I only told the other person he should kill himself. Since a whole family killing themselves is worse than one person killing himself i should go unpunished”.
You see how your logic doesn’t work and how rules should apply and crimes should be punished regardless of the severity of other crimes?
Harrassment/threatening is punished by ban and RMTing is punished by ban, according to common game rules.
Therefore you should get banned for RMTing and the others should get banned for threatening or harrassing you.
By the way : There are often situations where i have only 5k silver left. However, there is ALWAYS a possibility to get silver, even if that means grinding low level mobs for half an hour (like Mage Tower 5F).
That being said : LOL @ RMTer bragging about his gear in the other topic. Play the game and earn your gear the legal way before bragging about it. Every little 6 year old kid can buy good gear as long as he has the money, there is no reason to brag about gear obtained that way.
If we apply your logic to other situations : Should all caught thiefs go free and unpunished because many thefts don’t get reported?
Just because you are one of the persons caught while others don’t get caught it does not mean that you should go unpunished.
A crime is a crime, regardless how many others are caught doing it.

If they could, they would. The problem is that unless people report them they can’t punish them, because, just like the police can’t observe every single person in the world, they can’t oberve every single internet site for RMTing and they can’t observe every single player ingame at the same time. They have to rely on people who notice RMTing going on to report it.
How can you claim to love this game, yet at the same time break the rules and be a part of the game becoming worse due to silver sellers making profit off you, resulting in more botting?
That’s like saying “i love my wife” while at the same time stealing money from her.
And regardless how much DLC/TP a player bought, players who break the rules should be banned regardless how much money they spent.
“i give you money, therefore i should be allowed to break the rules” should never be allowed.
The lesson is : Don’t do crimes in the first place, because if you do crimes and you do get caught you are in trouble.
And don’t say you love something while at the same time doing someting that causes that thing you love to become worse.
And if you notice someone RMTing, don’t do RMTing yourself, that makes you no better than RMTers yourself. Just because others do it does not make it legal. I don’t know why people have this kind of mentality. Report those others who RMT and don’t do any illegal things yourself.

Since im feeling nice, my suggestion if you want to have a chance to save your account:
Be an honest person and write to the support, turn yourself in and confess to the support what you did.
Give them a list of all the illegal items you bought with real money, tell them they may wipe your illegally gotten items/silver but ask/beg them to leave your account and DLC/TP/characters unbanned so at least you can keep the account/DLC/TP/characters. Also tell them, if possible, from whom you got these illegally traded items/silver.
If they are extremely generous than they should be they might let you keep your account, but you should understand that they are perfectly allowed to ban you for it, in which case you should accept that as fair punishment for what you did.
From that point on however i’d advice you to play legal. And please stop being so egocentric, nobody likes that kind of behaviour.
