Plans for rank 11

Just chiming in but I think the OP is simply asking for a roadmap for the next few ranks. You have to admit that, very aggressive language aside, asking for future plans regarding a game is a reasonable request especially since it would create dialogue about future expectations and discussion regarding what could be improved. You have to admit that such a discussion is always productive, and there’s much to be said about developers keeping in touch with their audience.

Fortunately, they have already made it a point to present their ideas about the future of the game through the dev blog although recently there’s been a curious silence about what we can expect in the immediate future. We’re having a week without maint but we have no idea what this means. Is it a big content update? Are they improving their network connectivity? Again, silence. Even the recent PopoPost was curiously spare of content news. Most of our news comes from the KToS thread so you can imagine that people are a bit jittery since we’ve grown used to near weekly updates via the blog.

My big worry for rank11 and beyond is just the myriad of skills and the lack of hotkeys, specifically for gamepad users.

rank10 and to an extent rank9 already had me budgeting skills based on the limited hotkeys in set1, as switching to set2 mid combat, using skill, and switching back to set1 is a miserable affair.

Set1 needs more hotkeys or this issue will only get worse as ranks progress.

Also I don’t think anyone who PVPs wants to see rete3 murm1 become a thing.

I think they should just add classes where it is a combination of 2 class and you need to have those combination to be able to advance those class (think of it as chaplain but you need 2 classes instead).

To solve the hotkey problem, some of the skill is a combination from the 2 classes eg (if pyro3 + psycho3, it has a skill that combines gravity pole and hellbreath. And if use said skill, both the combined skill will go on CD too).

This classes are only applicable for classes of rank 5 and below.
Rank 11 should force getting this classes and master classes only to prevent some OP rank 7-8 combination and to make rank 1-5 DPS class relevant.

all class news are rank 8, but will continue rank 11 lv 420 rank 12 lv 450 rank 13 lv 480, i think last rank 13 or max level 500, i love tos only why have much class, but need to make new classes low rank too

Personally I think they should stop at rank 11 or 12. It allows those who have 3 star rank 6-7 classes to complete a rank 8. This is especially so because all new ranks that IMC put out are that of rank 8.

Afterwards rank 13-14-15 and such can be the master ranks, or like @BlackCat suggested (which I really like) a combo rank or something similar to chaplain. That would be ideal in terms of more progression onward. It will allow for less hotkey bloat, because strictly speaking jack of all trades becomes masters of none.

I look forward towards a chaplain-esq rank for Bokor.

There are a lot of people who think it will stop at R10, which would be really sad since it means Rank 6 and RAnk 8 classes can never mix fully. There wouldn’t ever be a Fencer 3 Matador 3 (Let alone one with Shinobi in the build) never an Oracle 3 Zealot 3. It’d also never be worth it to have a Lycanthropy with Fanatic Illusion.

Falconer 3 + a rank 8 class 3 times. Forget about it.

Someday they will probably also introduce a rank 8 option for Doppel, then they’ll give it attributes and skills that make it useless at C1, decent at C2 and complete bullshit at C3. Soooo we drop Doppel 3? Shinobi’s gone to? Or do we take both and C1 of the new Rank 8 class. It’s an awful situation to be put in and the answer to fixing it is actually so easy.

Rework the class trees to unlock all new options at ranks 2 and 5. Yes rank 6 and 7 are better than rank 5 classes so you’d have to buff them, but as is, rank 5 classes already suck. What is the best rank 5 in the game? Sorc? Monk? Appraiser? Fletcher? I mean Sorc is alright, Monk is underrated but not good, Appraiser is strong but not for it’s own power, and Fletcher is cool, Idt anyone plays it though.

Buff up the rank 5 classes a bit, increase their damages, then maybe you do the same for some Rank 2-3 classes. Buff up damages on Highlander, Barbarian, Hoplite, Early Peltasta, Early Ranger, Cryo, Pyro, Swordsman, Archer, Bokor, and Dievdirbys.

After all that you just make em all available from Rank 2 and make everything else except Rank 8 classes available from R5. Makes build options much better, and ■■■■■ classes like Fencer, Falconer and Druid less.

What we know from the current Rank 10 content about Rank 11:

Rank 11 will feature the last Revelation to find. It will probably be quite similar to what we’ve seen so far, new maps, new quests,new items.

Judging from the ingame lore, it will also be the last Rank before the game changes completely. Laimas Revelation of the Astral Tower revealed that we will face off against Giltine and meet Laima in person afterwards, it will be “the end and the beginning of everything” as stated, changing the game mode from learning about our destiny as Revelators to offensive onslaught against the demon kings and other evil gods/goddesses from Rank 12 onwards (if there will be Rank 12).

Now about the game mechanics/plan changes:

As IMC stated before,they plan to separate levelcap updates and Rank updates, yet they didn’t so far for Rank 10. Maybe it hints at the possible endcap of Rank 11 considering the Rank is ± consistent with the Revelation-updates.
So, while we will probably continue to level beyond 420+ with regular updates, the Rank will possibly no longer increase.
I think this is the point where IMC will try to approach the older Classes with their “Master Circles” as an alternative to the current Rank-up system, because it’s easier to balance while it limits the possible build choices.
Another possibility is that it will happen after Rank 12 [which will probably be the upmost limit,otherwise you’d be able to stack two R8 Classes at C3 on top of each other…], but that’s very uncertain, given the current status of the game.

As stated in the current Popolion Post, they will also focus on “endgame content” [which might be a little early unless they plan to bring Rank 11 early (maybe next February? It should be fast now that there are no new skills that need to be developed for Classes) and weave it into the lore about fighting Giltine and/or the real Demon Lords].

From the current gameplay and mechanics to judge from, I think it will be a “hard” and probably difficult to fit the “endgame content” category. It will probably scale with level,too and adjust difficulty and rewards accordingly, as this is the only option to keep endgame content viable as “endgame content” while the game advances.
Who knows, maybe we will see something very cool like a server-wide cooperation mode to trigger/beat it(partially or certain specific group contents outside of the regular party), but that would be too far into speculation at this point.

All in all these are the points I believe we will see at Rank 11 and onwards.

While your analogy completly sucks and doesn’t work, you certainly live in a wonderful country if you never heard someone asking you about your professional projects during primary school.

I still hope that 1 day they scrap this current class circle rank system and make something better that they can actually build on.

Reading this now I think I agree that R12 should be the ‘endgame’ threshold since it provides exactly 5 R8 circles. That way you can have a ‘core’ R8 class and two supporting classes. The fact you won’t be able to achieve a double mastery may be essential for imposing opportunity costs and ensuring that builds continue to have an identity.

I can imagine a Wiz2 Link3 Thaum3 RC Sage (or Sorc)3 but I can’t imagine something like Onmy3Sage3Shadow3. That’s something of an abomination, if you don’t mind me saying. Even worse for Swordies due to weapon restrictions. You may even end up not benefitting from extra classes since you’ll need 2 to 3 weapons to swap between.

Since we’re speculating it would be great if they could create something that works outside but on top of the current circle system. I’m not quite sure what it would look like but if it can be done it would breathe new life into our current build system. Masteries is one but it can also become ‘Specializations’ based on class masteries or -maybe (and this is a big maybe)- a cross-class system

You know they actually do that in Japan. Upon nearing your Highschool graduation you’re actually queried as to what your future career would be. After which you’re assigned recommendations and internships for your chosen profession. It’s not unknown. Just saying.

It’s referring to what are your plans in detail like what type product you are going to launch (shape, size, contents, storyline), the purpose of the launch, what marketing plans you have to support it 1 - 2 years from now, how are you going to gauge the customers response and make their life worth while to continue using your product you launched.

Like what OP believe as a free to play player deserves, he is asking, so what now? Tell me right now, what is your plan for the next 2 years in detail.

Not your typical hot counseling teacher asking you whether you want to be a teacher or astrologist or a housewife for your wife in your future, duh.

Back to topic,

Suggestion: there can always be an option of tier 4 for each lower tier classes. This way it will only be adding one or two more skill to each lower 1-7 classes, while buffing existing low tier skills from level 15 to 20. Right now at lower ranks example for wiz is Pyro and Cyro, is barely a good progression class skill to give any significant impact in PVE or PVP. Introducing tier 4 (higher damage or increased duration + few new skills) will allow players to have more options at lower classes and not be dependant on rank 8-10 only. And you cannot choose tier 4 without sacrificing the total available ranks, of the current cap at 10.

Introducing R11 will change the game play very aggressively. You can almost create a near immortal class by combining all the available key skills from each classes and make a super tanker with high damage juggernaut.

The C4 classes I think are similar to the masteries posted above. I think it would be best if it were a one-off thing in order to make it possible for IMC to make it super strong but still balanced.

Do you have a disease that makes you forget everything ? You’re the source of that bad analogy.

One thing to ask for further class ranks is, will further ranks above Rank10 increase class diversity in the community or reduces it for the game.

If rank12 is released will we still have distinct builds that we have now such as Lightning based Krivis Tao and Lightning based Zealot; or instead of both builds being merged under one Krivis3 Zealot3 Taoist2?

What about archers for rank12? Every build can run a falconer c3. Can we still say that falcon c3 are unique and those who choose to forgo falcon c3 now in Rank10 are unique in their ways? What about in a game where archers can still get falc3 + rank8 circle 3s?

What about wizards? Will there be distinct builds like farming linker thaus when most builds can just slap linker2 thau2 within their 12 circles and have access to it?

Is this a boon or bane?
