Physical link skill

Can anyone give me reviews about the physical link skill in the Linker tree (mechanic, pros, cons… etc)? Is it worth level up? Since I don’t see anyone use it during dungeons or grinding. Thank you :yum:

I wasn’t the linker myself in my group of friends but I do recall some details about physical link

  1. The damage is shared and divided across the linked pt members. Say 5 members are linked together and someone gets hit, the damage is divided by 5 and each of the divided damage is applied to each one instead of the solid hit applying to who was hit.

  2. The higher the level of the skill, the more pt members are able to be linked together.

  3. The downside is that it continually consumes Stamina. He mentioned that he had to chug stamina pills to sustain it :open_mouth:

  4. At circle 2, self buffs can be shared across linked party members like Concentrate, Gungho, etc. iirc there’s a thread in this forum with a full list of buffs that can be shared across through physical link.

I guess that’s all I am able to say about this skill. Hope it helps :+1:

One thing to note is that shared damage via Physical Link can cancel spells like Energy Bolt, Psychic Pressure, Possession. Physical Link can be annoying for caster-type classes.

I also want to correct that Physical Link costs 16 stamina to cast, and doesn’t continually consume stamina.

Basically physical link is a debuff. Nobody use it because it’s malicious. Players linked together will all get their casts interrupted when someone’s hit, their shields/safezones will break n times faster (where n is number of linked players).
Also incoming damage becomes less evident so if you don’t pay attention to your hp bar you can screw up without even getting hit.
No point to use such broken and useless skill.

Oh I see, I thought it was a trickle which is like summoning skill
So without a trickle, this means that the physical link expires after some time right?
I’ve always thought that my friend turns it off when no longer needed so he won’t go 0 stamina lel

Buffs are shared through spiritual chain, a different skills not related to physical link.

Oh right yeah I forgot to add that but you initially need to use physical link before it

No you don’t. It looks similar, but actually physical link isn’t involved.

Physical link is a great skill if you want to link yourself to someone in a duel and die for real in town.

Otherwise use is quite limited if you’re squish, even if you manage to link all 5 people. If you ask me, as a priest c2, I would prefer having to heal more on 1 person as opposed to little on 5 people. (Alchemist potions are a reality but they have a CD, the ticks that come after the initial burst may not be sufficient in some cases.)

Exactly what jabo said.

Is the damage reduced great when linked 5 pt members or it is divided equally?

No it dont, you silly  It’s an one-time on-cast consumption, pretty hefty tho at 16 stamina, perhaps why he needed some stamina pills is to sustain it thru longer period (esp. when doing instance dungeons)

Cool Fact:
I managed to keep me and two dps (archer and hoplite, and we were all 177 back then) alive at 175 dun without a heal.

Yeah it seems I misinterpreted his sentiments about it haha

It is, as in it gets divided by 5 before it hits each player’s defense.

If you’re entire party is of people who don’t have any channeled skills, it works fairly well at what it does.

I don’t think there are any characters that don’t have a channeled skill though…

so this xplains the huge dmg reduction. cool :smiley_cat:

If you want to use physical link, wizard 2 for sure spell is almost a prereq. This is unfortunate, since it means you’re really going full support as a linker, and you’ll have to cast sure spell every 15 sec while using physical link.

On the other hand, your party will probably be very happy that you’re giving them sure spell xD

Mmm, uninterruptible OoB and Possession…

It will be useful later on especially around level 230 and later at this level range all monster hit like a truck.
