Petition:Monster gems shouldn't be destroyed upon gem extraction

Why is this even a thing? Not only are monster gems extremely rare and hard to obtain for the right class/skill you want, but now you literally can’t trade them to someone else because extracting them will destroy it??

This needs to be changed. Having the gem disappear if you try to extract it from a 1 or 2 star item is fine, but 4 star and above? No.

Please get rid of this absolutely ridiculous practice.

Maybe make it so we can level up the monster gem but it doesn’t have any effect besides being able to save it upon extraction.

Or maybe make the monster gems drop a little more often. They aren’t THAT strong to be that rare and also break so we probably won’t use it except in a final weapon anyways.

I kinda like the idea of the first option better plus you can regulate how much it takes to level it up so you can adjust how hard it’ll be to do so.

They should have been made tradable to begin with.
But its probably another stupid anti bot measure, since monster gems are pricy as food on any level.

They just need to make blacksmith extract gems at the expense of item, so you can get your gem if you absolutely need it but lose item instead.

Destroying anything when you extract is rather pointless. If you get a sweet pair of gloves that are like 4 star blue quality, you’re going to want to sell them after you extract a gem.

Also, making monster gems able to be traded would fix the issue as well. There is no real reason not to at this point.

Its so wrong… I cant even sell the gems that are useless to my class and i cant also have a safe extratcion?? I change equips every week by reaching new levels…

Well it happened to me , Monster Gem " Buterfly Skill +1 LVL" put to the sword but not appeared ability for me to use , so I decided to extract the Gem, result … the gem disappeared !
Vote for what Vote for this type of gem can be extracted without fade or be marketable . Staff Fix It please.

they are not tradeable because bots have hundreds of them and would quickly flood the market.

Monster gems are the untradable version of CARDS from RO. They are one of the last step’s one takes when perfecting their gear.

Get virtov set or lolpanther gear.

Open all sockets.

+10 it.

Awaken it.

Remaining potential on +15

Socket lvl 10 gems or monster skill.

They are a 1% drop so every 1000 mobs you should find one.

Its not even that bad of a farm for the end of end game items, before this you should not even worry about it.

The only difference is that cards were not “the last step” to finish your gear set. Not even close.

Some areas REQUIRED you have certain cards. So even if you had to, you tossed it in a +4 to +6 Buckler/Shield/Mirror Shield/Guard. You then worked on getting +7 to +10 Gear, sold your other shield, bought a new card and THEN you were set. (Or in my case, farmed like hell for it. The card economy on RO1 now is absolutely astounding)

Cards were a necessity in the game. You NEEDED them to do higher level areas like Niffelheim or some of the later dungeons introduced. Not to mention doing boss farming. GL trying to tank Bapho without a Khali offhand equipped card. It would wreck your face (pre-Renewal, after Renewal all bosses wreck face).

Gems aren’t even THAT powerful compared to how retardedly strong cards were. Not even close.

Omfg, getting a particular gem can take time equal to getting 1-280lvl.

I have one char on lvl 24X, one on 190 and the final one on 13X. I have not seen a monster gem drop. There is no way that is a 1% drop.

I have ten 280 friends who didnt seen a single gem in game.

I think they should stay destroyed if they do it the other way it lets bots trade them on rmt you should have to work for your gems dont be such a casual

I am 100% certain the Monster Gems are less than 0.1% Dropchance.
How I am conviced of it?

Well, Hummingbirds.

I am farming Hummingbirds for the gem. So far I have killed more than 4.000 of them the past days - farming at night & hopping channels. (God knows how many Lowbies hated and reported me for oneshotting those mobs with a level 200+ Char)

So untill today: I have every single drop Hummingbirds drop as the following:

294x Hummingbird Wing (7.5%)
040x Ring Bracelet (n/a %)
064x White Flower Hairpins (1.2%)
003x Lv3 EXP Card (n/a %)
001x Blue Orb: Hummingbird
001x Red Orb: Hummingbird

Sidenote: For the Orbs, there seems to be some sort of bug too. The blue Orb is not shown in the Adventure Journal. The Red Orb not even in the Database listed as an Item. (Why are there even 2 kind of orbs for one Monster?)

Anyway - you see. No Gem. Some may call it unlucky but “if” the gems really would have a droprate of 1%, I should have half as many as I got from the Bracelets or Hairpins.

In the end… This makes farming gems for your gear extremly hardcore and for some also frustrating, especially if you can’t farm with your class for the higher rank gems. I am Cryo-Chrono… Chrono Gems farming won’t be easy for me and with a party or DPS friend, there is always the risk the gem goes to the wrong person.

Either those gems become tradable or the drop needs to be increased desperatly to make them a working system.

80k kills on my main, 0 gems drop. 1 in 1000 = 1%? Math fail that is 0.1%. Even then I should have 80 by now so nope I call bullshit. It might be 1 in 10k, 0.01% chance so I should find 8 by then, but just unlucky and not all monster probably drop one. Either way numbers are way to low to accurately calculate but its definitely way less then 1%.

I have…4? I think? Monster gems across my 3 characters. Corylus, Operor on my priest. One I can’t think of on my Hoplite (but I remember it’s the Spikes skill for Quarrel Shooter) and Popolion on my C2 Cleric.

They are rare as hell. The fact that I have that many astounds even me. It’s just random BS luck. Almost all mine have been just from completing the kill x mobs on a map journal things.

Making them trade-able is not necessary, but at least make it so someone who already has a gem doesn’t get screwed. Having to wait until literally the last piece of gear you will ever equip in a slot is just dumb.

I’m pretty sure the drop rate is about 0.01, like the cards in ragnarok online on a 1/1/1 rates server.

I droped a total of 5 gems in CBT + OBT and I think i killed around 40-60k monsters. Also if i compile all the gems drops in my guild with the number of kills that people have, we are around a 0.01% drop for sure (if it’s not 0.01 it’s 0.02 or 0.005)

CBT / OBT gem rate is higher. It was clarified by the staff that our monster gem drop rate has been lowered. It’s a really stupid system if you ask me.
