#Their faces when talt:
when if sells for 1m+ ye poeple will run for it.
Yeah that is my feeling alright… I have been trying to get an Arde Dagger ever since the launch for like what 2 or 3 weeks? Lvl135 Monk… Not going to bother rerolling/making new character or questing. Took me a lot of time to get to this point and all those hidden quests for stamina.
Been logging in daily to do 2x boss rush for the Arde. I got like 2 beetleback recipes, 3 necro card and the rest are all talts. I even tried rerolling the cube until I am now broke.
Pretty much given up on this game until they buff Monks, release Lama class or I get my Arde dagger.
I am pretty much numb on talts already don’t give a ■■■■about what I get anymore.
Damn… that’s the kind of RNG that leads people to quit a game in frustration lol.
Well that isn’t the only problem with this horrible RNG (some people get arde within 10 cubes and some don’t get even after 100 cubes) and dungeon limit.
The game has tons of other issues like bots and class balance.
People are calling this game tree of magic, tree of bots, tree of no swordsman.
Maybe give this game a year or two to patch up.
It is funny though.
Dungeon limits + No zone chat + limit on shout usage + Guilds are only for PvP really due to the Templar restrictions (Screw PvE and social gamers).
= Tree of Solo for most of the game.
I remember when MMORPG was Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game
The genre should be called MSORPG - Massve Solo Online Roleplaying Game.
I’m a very social person so it sorta bothers me but oh well. That’s why I sit on these forums posting nonstop. I get my socializing done here lol.
Agreed… I miss real MMORPG games like Dark Ages Online. In the old days , people actually communicate and even roleplay in the game.
There isn’t really a lot of content that incentivize grouping up aside from boss rushing. Even queuing up in dungeons party for full clears, majority of the players don’t even communicate.
Hell even when I was questing and there was this other guy who was obviously doing the same quest as me and we are killing the same monster. All he typed was “…” when I killed the quest monster he was trying kill.
I invited him to party he said “no” and switched channel.
Tree of Solo indeed. This game has many names.
when i was playing i got 3 characters to lvl 90 for 9 runs per day
i clocked in at about 500-600 runs and never got the dagger
i resolved myself to only get the dagger from RNG which probably lead me to quit lol.
I played Project1999 last year for some nostalgia. Got a level 51 druid, 51 necromancer and 53 cleric.
Everquest is still ridiculously social. The game is literally designed around talking to others. Combat doesn’t require so much player interaction so people would talk while fighting it was pretty nice.
But the game is just way too hardcore for me. These days I’ve really lost interest in repetitive and LONG time sinks. Just to name a couple:
Certain levels require 24-48 hours of repetitive grinding to get out of those levels.
Epic quests - which is pretty much the first thing you do when you reach end game. You have spawns that require LARGE raid groups, these spawns are on a 7 day respawn timer with 48 hour variances (basically 7 days + a random number of hours), are CONTESTED with other players. Means you have to somehow catch the spawn when it spawns then have 20+ people willing to come help you kill it who have the gear + skill required to help you before some other group of people kill it.
I’d love a social game that doesn’t require you to sit on a voice chat for 16 hours a day (I prefer relaxing to music rather than voices in my ear) that also balances the hardcore aspects so it isn’t ridiculous and stupid.
After more than 1000 runs without getting anything in any dungeon I am more and more losing interest to continue…
I am glad to know I am not the only one with this problem.
Every time I finish a dungeon, occasionally that lucky guy links an arde dagger and there was once a guy getting 2 arde dagger.
I don’t know… I know I should feel happy for them and say “congrats”. But you know, inside me I feel like strangling them and scream at their face “GIVE IT TO ME!!!”
This dungeon limit + on top of RNG limit with horrible RNG is just…
I thought farming for prime parts in Warframe is bad, but at least they don’t limit your number of tries and some MMORPG even have a dungeon token system in place where you can trade your tokens for what you want from the dungeon shop.
IMC_God please give me a token system. It feels so bad doing all those dungeons runs each day, working hard to get something but no. Meanwhile others get â– â– â– â– on with gear. >_>
FFXIV does that now and I think it’s a wonderful feature. So you can actually “progress” even if RNGesus is smiting you. Nothing is more horrible and shitty than fighting against RNG.
That feeling where you just don’t know when you will progress. That dreadful feeling of not knowing fills you with constant feelings of defeat and frustration – how much time will I need? 100 hours? 200 hours? Is it ever going to end??
Then it becomes like a gambling addiction. You can’t stop and each run starts to piss you off more and more.
It’s a game design that needs to f*ck off already and be replaced with better systems.
It’s sad but I’m kinda relieved to see I wasn’t the only one getting sorely screwed by RNG. I read somewhere that by my 60th run I should have a 95% chance of getting an arde but pfffftt, 70th run and all I had were talts and beetleback recipes. So I gave up on getting an arde weeks ago and am now trying to get a petamion recipe because apparently I’m a masochist.
IMC really should do something about those drop rates or dungeon limitations, because ToS is growing more and more frustrating to a bunch of players and that can’t be good for the future of the game. The dungeon token system seems really promising, they should look into that!
Wrong Math, you have same drop chance on every single run, but propability to not get a drop consecutively gets lower.
Drop rate is fine. I suggest to play Diablo if you want shiny drops all over the place.
RNG is RNG. I’m on my 13th dagger. I’m worried how this affects my luck with didel grandcross though O_o.
Isn’t that how it always is though? You get lucky here but later on your luck was already used up and suffering begins LOL
Usually the people who say “RNG is RNG”, “drop is fine/game is fine” are the lucky ones.
The ones who I want to strangle and choke their arde dagger out of their mouth.
I like that, please go back to RO and try get an MVP Card
Just grind the silver won’t take you long at all. buy from the market.
Or do with a token 3x lvl 50 dungeon daily = 200k total each day. you will have it in 4 days lol.
