People are afk farming with pets

I dont think that this is a solution because when your pet is high level and you bring it along with your new character it sill do alot of 1hit Kills and your even though you are playing the legit way. it is part of the game mechanics.

I believe that the best solution if IMC really think it is a problem is that they log the characters out if there is no reaction for 10 minutes.

on the other hand about Z holding they can give each hold a 1 minute or 2 (what ever is enough) then the player has to unhold then hold again. this should stop the issue.

Why is this a problem? The pet doesn’t attack mobs unless the owner is attacked.

Therefore this only works against hostile mobs. This doesn’t affect your gameplay nor do the pets KS you.

Somebody can’t tell the difference between a Bot and a heavy object weighing the Z key down? Or a Pet? Is this for real?

Holding the Z Key down doesn’t heal you, doesn’t pick up far away drops, and doesn’t move you around. Botting does. Learn the difference.

Simply add auto logout in an hour.
If they use any macro or third party tools, then that should be illegal. The definition should be the user playing with physical input on each computer to be active / playing.

On the other hand, this is really for low levels only. You can’t do that in high level for leveling, so I am not sure this is that game breaking.

This wasn’t a problem at first but now all these high levels are in crystal mines F1 camping a quest spot in every channel. Killing the vubbue with the question mark was simple now it’s not.

It’s right that putting the same system as some p-serv on RO, with a no possibility to autoloot while afk could help a lot.

If a player doesn’t move(or act) after 5 min, the pets stop attacking or doesn’t give silver/loots.
This way, the guy have to come back every 5 min (hard to do when you are at work or in bed) or he will have no point in doing this. And if you negate the reason he is doing that, he will have no use to do it again.

Conflict, the source of good drama.

You would log out every squire, alchemist and pardoner if that were the case, horrible idea.

You can, except for the fact that your summon drains your mana as long as its active +stopping any form of mana regeneration (so using skills along with summon drains your mana at extreme rates), and for the fact that sorcerer has no direct damage skills till c3. c1 and c2 can only deal damage via summons literally. There are no other skills for them.

I think i have simple solution for afk pet farmers. Pet should only attack same target that is being attacked by player and not attacking its own targets.

You know that if everyone z hold or pet afk 24/7 the silver in the game is going to inflate 1000x more than bot farming, dont you?
And if you really think that people put rocks on their buttons nowadays istead of using a single digit macro you are really a optimistic person lol

I can’t understand why people play the game using every mechanic they can find to actually not play the game as it should be played lol

what if you throw a high level monster orb to the afk players… /evillaugh

I’d like to apologize for doing this. Sometimes I ditch my computer while questing and afk at a spot to eat or something really quick and my pet will take all incoming agro on me.
I’ve never actually considered using this for farming.

But now that I know this is so disliked, I’ll do my best to afk in monster safe zones.

This would cause problems for necro builds. One of the perks of the class is having your puny skellies run around whacking things, diverting the deadly fire of blue spion archers from the Necro and to the disposable pet.

It would definitely make fighting bosses with pets easier, though… You have to do an elaborate waltz around bosses to convince your pets to even start swinging at them.

I think this is a bad feature too but don’t blame ppl for it. If we could convince IMC we don’t like Z attacking and afk Pet Farming and they would find a solution to fix it that would be good/better… and yeah I don’t blame ppl for any of those… These are bad features of the game itself that should be revised.

You are wrong. Pardoners can quit the game and the shop remains open just like any squire etc.

This was a huge thing in ragnarok. I have yet to actually get a pet yet, but they dont need to eat or anything? There isnt any method employed to insure people cant just literally leave their computer up for hours/days and the pet will never die/leave etc?

If thats the case than they need to implement something like that.

But if they already have that I dont know what to tell you.

So far it hasnt impacted me at all. So im rather indifferent to it at the moment.

Pets move slow and attack slow. This is a complete non-issue…

This is a terrible solution because unlike wow there are at least 3-4 classes in ToS that focus exclusively on pets for their killing ability.

You want me to get to rank 6, use 5 skill points, 55 boss cards, 30 corpses, and suffer a 4 minute cooldown only to be told that monsters that my shoggoth kills will not be rewarding me with xp or loot?

Sheer lunacy. Just because WoW developed a solution for something does not mean it will work in Tree of Savior.
